He moved to Canadian from Roswell, N.M. in 1997. He married Julia Villalpando in 1935 at Carlsbad, N.M. He was preceded in death by two sons, Eloisin Trujillo in 1982 and David Trujillo in 1999. Survivors include his wife; five sons, Elias Trujillo of Colorado Springs, Colo.; the Rev. She was a homemaker and an avid gardener, being a past winner of the Beautiful Yard Award. She married William Omar Toney in 1933 at Strington, Okla. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1997 and by a daughter, June Lummus, in 1962. Amarillo Sunday News-Globe April 2, 2000 Mary Belle Simpson BORGER - Mary Belle Simpson, 83, longtime Borger and Panhandle resident, died Friday, March 31, 2000, in Fort Worth. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in First Christian Church at Borger with the Revs. Doug Harvey and John Bran officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Cemetery at Stinnett. Arrangements are by Lucas Funeral Home of Hurst. Mrs. Simpson was born in Fletcher, Okla. In 1926, she moved to Phillips and in 1933, she graduated from Borger High School. She worked in the tax collector's office in Stinnett and later as a secretary and stenographer for Phillips Petroleum Co. She married Joe B. Simpson in 1935, and in 1947 they opened a funeral home and flower shop. After her association with the business for more than 30 years, she worked in the flower shop at Panhandle. In 1989, she returned to Borger. She moved to Arlington 41/2 years ago. Her husband died in 1974. Survivors include a son, David Simpson of Arlington; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. today at the church. Mr. Pruitt was born in Lynn County and graduated from Floydada High School in 1957. In 1956, he moved from Slaton to Floyd County. He was a member of the board of the Floydada school system, the Elevator, Consumers Fuel Association, and Floyd County Livestock Association. He was a farmer and a member of the First Baptist Church of Floydada, where he served as a deacon. He married Jane Tye in 1960 at Floydada. Mr. Thomas was born in Illinois and moved to Pampa from Heber Springs, Ark., in 1963. He retired from the Air Force after serving during both World War II and the Korean War. He retired as a lieutenant in the Pampa Police Department in 1980s and as an adult probation officer for Gray County. He was a Baptist. He married Faye Walker in 1940 at Guthrie, Okla. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Wheeler Mortuary Chapel with Leroy Thomas officiating. Burial will be at 3:30 p.m. (CDT) in Llano Cemetery in Amarillo, Texas. Mr. Lester was born in Amarillo, where he graduated from high school in 1951. For two years, he attended West Texas State University. For many years, he worked in the trucking industry. He worked for ICX trucking in Amarillo and later in Plainview until his transfer to Lubbock. While in Lubbock, he worked for Time DC Trucking as a relay manager. He transferred to Moriarty, where he lived until 1985. In 1985, he and his wife moved to Portales, where they owned and operated the Portales Dairy Queen until selling the business in 1998. He continued to work part time at the restaurant. He married Marshall Ann Zuber in 1977 at Whiteface, Texas. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Steve Lester of Lubbock and Marlon Zuber of Whiteface; three daughters, Susie Houtchens of Portales, Sonia Lee Moore of Lubbock, and Malisa Witherspoon of Placitas; a sister, Rose McDowell of Amarillo; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery at Amarillo. Mr. Hallford was born in Newburg Community and attended Howard Payne College and Baylor University. Until 1940, he was a teacher in Newburg and superintendent of schools in Grosvenor, Texas. He then worked for the Texas Department of Public Welfare in Quanah, Amarillo, and Eastland until his retirement in 1963. He was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Eastland and had been living in Grace Living Center at Mangum since 1993. He married Willie Couch in 1922 at Blanket, Texas. His wife preceded him in death. Survivors include four daughters, Dorothy Jackson of Amarillo, Billie Hays of Fort Smith, Ark., Pat Williams of Aubrey, Texas, and Lou Helen White of Eldorado; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Hendricks was born in Chelsea, Indian Territory, and moved from Cisco to Abilene, where she lived for 62 years. While in Abilene, she worked as secretary to H.S. McFarland with Reed-NicholsMcKenzie Civil Engineers, which later became Brown and Co. of New Jersey. Before retiring in 1980, she was district secretary to the manager of Safeway Stores in Oklahoma. She was a member of Church of the Heavenly Rest Episcopal in Abilene, and Order of Eastern Star, Chapter No. 30. She was also active in R.S.V.P. for West Texas Rehabilitation Center in Abilene. She married T. Wade Hendricks in 1924 at Houston. He died in 1985. Survivors include a sister, Odean Scott of Plainview. Georgia St. Mrs. Ploog was born in Fort Worth and graduated from Texas Christian University's Harris College of Nursing. She was a registered nurse and a member of Covenant of Joy Christian Church. She married Robert Ploog in 1957 in Fort Worth. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Susan Sledge of Amarillo; a son, Robert "Bobby" Ploog of Amarillo; two sisters, Mabel Hendricks and Larue Smith both of Fort Worth; and two grandchildren. Lee Palmer, 73, of Amarillo, died Friday, March 31, 2000. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Citizens Cemetery at Clarendon with Dr. Murray Gossett, assistant pastor of First Presbyterian Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors, Inc. of Clarendon. Mr. Palmer was born at McClellan Creek near Alanreed in Donley County. He was a resident of Goodnight from 1962 until moving to Amarillo in 1988. He was a high school and college coach, and a rancher for several years before he retired. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a director and past president of the Clarendon Outdoor Entertainment Association and the Southwest Cattle Raisers Association. He was a member of Claude Masonic Lodge and an elder and long time member of First Presbyterian Church in Clarendon. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Amarillo. He married Betty Pauline Tolleson in 1974 at Amarillo. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ann Pinkney Palmer, in 1973. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Lee Ann Beverly of Garland and Diane Tolleson of Crofton, British Columbia, Canada; two sons, Ward Palmer of Amarillo and Craig Tolleson of Hallsville; and 6 grandchildren. Dale Mooreland, associate pastor at San Jacinto Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle. Mrs. Bush was born in Coal County, Okla., and was a longtime resident of Amarillo before moving to Arizona. She returned to Amarillo in 1981. She worked in retail clothing sales. She was a member of Baptist St. Anthony's Auxiliary, Retired Senior Volunteer Program and Order of Eastern Star Bonita Chapter. Mrs. Bush was a volunteer food server at Northwest Village and a member of Paramount Terrace Christian Church. She married Virgil Bush in 1929 at Waxahachie. He died in 1981. Survivors include a daughter, Dorothy Guill of Amarillo; a son, James Virgil Bush Jr. of Valleyview; two brothers, A.C. Spears and O.C. Services will be at 4 p.m. Monday in Rector Funeral Home Chapel with Pinky Long of Baha'i World Faith officiating. Burial will be in Llano East Cemetery by Rector Funeral Home, 2800 S. Osage St. Mrs. Gage was born in Walnut Ridge, Ark. She graduated from Palo Duro High School in 1967 and attended Amarillo College. She was a chief technician for Crown of Texas Kidney Center. In 1985 Mrs. Gage was awarded Outstanding Citizen from Amarillo Police Department. She was a member of Baha'i World Faith Church. She married Clayton Gage in 1967 at Amarillo. Survivors include her husband; a son, Richard Young of Seattle; a daughter, Mandy Byers of Bucyrus, Kan.; her parents, Betty Johnson of Amarillo and James Parish of McCrory, Ark.; and two grandchildren. Arrangements are by Warford-Walker Mortuary, 509 N. Hughes. Mrs. Boehning was born in Winston County, Ala., and had lived in Amarillo for 49 years. She attended schools in Alabama and worked in retail at Kline's Department Store in Amarillo. She was a Baptist. Survivors include her husband, Alvin C. Boehning; a stepson, Carl Boehning of Arizona; and a daughter, Myrtle Hussey of Amarillo. Mr. Spencer was born in Fort Stockton and moved to Amarillo in 1988 from South Port, N.C. He was a retired General Contractor. Survivors include three daughters, Suzane Whisenhunt of Amarillo, Cindy Mann of Dallas, and Kimberly Spencer of Nashville; two sisters, Imogene Wright and Jeane Bartlett, both of Amarillo; a brother, Woody Spencer Jr. of Plainview; and six grandchildren. Burial will be in Llano East Cemetery. Mr. McGregor was born in Bosque County. He was a veteran of the Army and Navy and served during both World War II and the Korean War. For 30 years, he lived in the Amarillo area and was a member of PRCA. He retired as a state cattle inspector with the Texas Animal Health Commission and had worked for several ranches in the Texas Panhandle, including the Waggoner Ranch in Vernon. Survivors include his wife, Shirley McGregor of Panhandle; two stepsons, Bruce Moseley of Amarillo and Robin Moseley of Panhandle; and three grandchildren.
