Clifford Dane, retired Baptist minister, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Hass Funeral Home. Mr. Womble grew up in Dalhart and attended school there. He graduated from high school in 1964. He worked for C & S Welding and owned and operated Randy Womble and Co. Ditching & Electrical. He attended People's Church. He was preceded in death by a son, Michael Randolph Womble, in 1971. Survivors include his wife, Edwyna Womble of Dalhart; a son, Donnie Womble of Dalhart; a daughter, Dianthe Downs of Dalhart; his mother and stepfather, Margaret and Jim Ross of Dalhart; two brothers, Bruce Wayne Womble of Carlsbad, N.M., and Kim Womble of Dalhart; and four grandchildren. Miss Lara was born in Muleshoe and had been a lifetime resident of Friona. She was a first-grade student at Friona Primary School. She was a member of St. Teresa's Catholic Church. Survivors include her parents, Rosendo and Liliana Lara; two sisters, Cynthia Lara and Guillermina Lara, both of Friona; and her grandparents, Zeferino and Guadalupe Lara, both of Leon Guanajuato, Mexico, and Manuel and Guillermina Gonzalez, both of Durango, Mexico. Amarillo Daily News, June 2, 2000 Curtis H. Kendrick STRATFORD - Curtis H. Kendrick, 88, died Wednesday, May 31, 2000. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Stratford Cemetery with the Rev. Jerry Stewart, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Morrison Funeral Directors. Mr. Kendrick was born in Moody. He was drafted to the Army Air Corps in 1941 and served during World War II in Australia and New Guinea. He was awarded several decorations, and retired as master sergeant in 1945. Mr. Kendrick had lived in Stratford from 1946-51 and returned in 1966. He was a retired farmer and a member of the First Baptist Church. He married Donna Fogo in 1946 at Burr Oak, Kan. Survivors include his wife; three sons, David Kendrick of Redlands, Calif., Steven Kendrick of Austin and Rodney Kendrick of Bellevue, Wash.; a daughter, Dana Maddox of Dallas; three brothers, Don Kendrick of Santa Rosa, Calif., Larry Kendrick of Monrovia, Calif., and Ralph Kendrick of Fountain Valley, Calif.; two sisters, Janice Kenney of Woodinville, Wash., and Marcella Creagh of China, Texas; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandson. Mrs. Owens was born in Red River County and had been a resident of Dumas since 1945. She was a homemaker and a longtime member of the Temple Baptist Church. She married Wayne Owens in 1934 at Tulia. He died in 1986. She also was preceded in death by two sons, Richard Owens, in 1967, and Dale Owens, in 1983. Survivors include two sons, Donald Owens of Houston and Harold Owens of Dumas; four daughters, Peggy Hoefling of Dumas, Barbara Roberts of Louisburg, Kan., and Linda Thompson and Joy Wilson, both of Dumas; 16 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren. Private burial will be in Llano Cemetery by N.S. Griggs & Sons Funeral Directors, 2615 Paramount Blvd. Mr. Hudson was born in Memphis and grew up in Amarillo. He graduated from Amarillo High School in 1952 and joined the Army in 1953, serving during the Korean War. He later attended Amarillo College and West Texas State College, graduating in 1957. He taught at Horace Mann Junior High School from 1958 to 1960. He was an instructor and coach at Amarillo College from 1960 until retiring in 1990. Mr. Hudson was a member of the Amarillo Retired Teachers Association, St. Stephen United Methodist Church and the Bridge Builders Sunday school class. He married Louise Rodgers in 1954 at Amarillo. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Amy Griffith of Amarillo; four sons, Robert Hudson, Rodger Hudson, Ronnie Hudson and David Hudson, all of Amarillo; two sisters, Patsy Lawrence and Mary Ann Gatlin, both of Amarillo; and 14 grandchildren. Mr. Lawler was a longtime member of the American Business Club and the First Presbyterian Church. He married Elva Pyeatt in 1938 at Amarillo. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Annette Doche of Amarillo; a son, Don Lawler of Austin; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Mrs. Leavelle was a longtime resident of Amarillo before the family moved to Houston in 1960. She had worked for the Amarillo Globe-News, Pacific Finance and the First National Bank of Amarillo. She was a member of the West Amarillo Church of Christ and a charter member of the Forest Hill Church of Christ. Survivors include her husband, James E. He earned an associate degree in radiologic technology in 1986 at South Plains College and a bachelor's degree in nursing at West Texas State University in 1993. He was an emergency room and trauma director at the Hereford Regional Medical Center. Mr. Carr married Charline Gregory in 1990 at Lubbock. She married George E. Frederick in 1945 at Amarillo. He died in 1996. Survivors include a son, George E. Frederick Jr. of Amarillo; four sisters, Anita M. Pugh of Jack, Ala., Nina B. He had owned and operated Gordon's Garage and was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses Central Terrace Congregation. Mr. Rudd married Inez Hutton in 1947 at Hollister, Calif. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Janice Marie MacMillan of Canyon; a son, Donald Claude Rudd of Amarillo; two brothers, Douglas Ryan Rudd of San Juan Bautista, Calif., and H. Claude Rudd of Sacramento, Calif; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He had been a funeral director in Waco and Plainview and in Amarillo, at N.S. He was a member of the Downtown Lions Club and coached Kids, Inc. and YBall games. He was a member of the First Baptist Church. Mr. Sherrod married Peggy Melton in 1963 at Amarillo. He was preceded in death by a son, Scott Melton Sherrod, in 1972. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Shaun Sherrod of Amarillo and Stephen Sherrod of Canyon; a brother, Benny Sherrod of Amarillo; and a grandson.
