Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Davis was born in Cunningham. He served in the Marine Corps and the Marine Corps Reserve. He moved to Amarillo in 1942 from Matador. He was a real estate investor. He was preceded in death by his wife, Claudia Mae Holland Davis, in 1991. Survivors include a son, Steve Davis of Amarillo; a sister, Essie Yandell of Lubbock; two brothers, Roy Davis and Wes Davis, both of McAllen; and one grandchild. Mrs. Roberts was born in Moberly, Mo., and grew up in Bethany, Okla. She graduated from Bethany High School. She earned a bachelor's degree from North Texas State University and a master's degree from Denver University. She moved to Amarillo in 1971 from Colorado. She was a supervisor in the Amarillo Independent School District special education program until her retirement in 1977. She married John Roberts in 1942 at Bethany. Survivors include her husband; two sons, John G. Roberts of Orlando, Fla., and Donald B. Roberts of Ault, Colo.; a brother, Frank Rice of Yukon, Okla.; a sister, Helen Belcher of Yukon; and two grandsons. The family suggests memorials be to BSA Hospice; or a favorite charity. Mrs. Procter was born in Paris, Texas and lived in Clovis 51 years. She was a member of Sandia Baptist Church. She married Tom Proctor in Anson, Texas. He died in 1994. Amarillo Daily News, May 2, 2000 Oklahoma James Raymond Watson BEAVER, Okla. - James Raymond Watson, 87, died Sunday, April 30, 2000. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Forgan United Methodist Church at Forgan with Terry Fox and Glen Kirkendall officiating. Burial will be in Liberal Cemetery at Liberal, Kan. Arrangements are by Clark Funeral Service. Mr. Watson was born near Floris Elevators. He graduated from Greenough High School in 1930. He farmed in the Floris community until retiring in 1973 and moving to Grand Lake in eastern Oklahoma. He moved to Beaver in 1997. He served on local and state committees of the Agriculture Stabilization and Conservation Service and the Oklahoma State Conservation Service. He received an award from the National and Oklahoma Wildlife Federation. Mr. Watson headed the Beaver County Republicans. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of the McFarland Masonic Lodge, later part of the Hooker Masonic Lodge. He was a member of the Shrine Scottish Rite Temple in Guthrie. He was a past member of Forgan United Methodist Church. He married Vera Patterson in 1935. She died in 1952. He also was preceded in death by a daughter, Rae Dena McDaniel. He married Genevieve "Genny" Gibson in 1975 at Bentonville, Ark. Survivors include his wife; a son, Jim Watson of Forgan; a stepdaughter, Karen Birdwell of Universal City, Texas; a stepson, Gary Gibson of Universal City; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and several step-grandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren. She earned a bachelor's degree in education at Alva and taught school for a short time. She was a homemaker. She married Loren Palmer in 1933 at Beaver. He died in 1977. Mr. Towner was born in Vernon County, Mo., and moved to the Oklahoma Panhandle in 1907. He graduated from P.A.M.C. High School in 1925, where he was a member of the Honor Society and the debating and literary societies. He had been a farmer since 1927. He moved to Hooker in 1971. He married Thelma Hampsten in 1925. She preceded him in death. Mr. Slatton was born and raised in Jonesboro, Ark. He graduated from Jonesboro High School. He served in the military during in the Korean War. He was a switch technician for GTE and moved with the company to Dalhart in 1970. He retired from GTE in 1996. He attended the People's Church in Dalhart and Trinity Fellowship Church in Amarillo. He married Joyce M. Clark in 1953 in Mississippi. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Jane Ann Levick, in 1991. Survivors include two daughters, Beth Carder and Gwen Giles, both of Dumas; a sister, Estellene Metz of Oklahoma City; eight grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren. She married Cloyce Holeman in 1934 at Lakeview. In 1997 she moved to Amarillo. She was a homemaker and past member of the Rebekah Lodge. She was a member of the Church of Christ. She married Joseph C. Talley in 1922 at Hollis, Okla. He died in 1969. She married Chester Wadley in 1975 at Amarillo. He died in 1995. She also was preceded in death by five children, Lillie Wright, George W. Nixon, Lela Irene Cruse, Glenda Rose Talley and Joe Burl Talley. Mr. Whitecotton was born in Montague County and had lived in Morton since 1948, moving from Ryan, Okla. He was the owner of a grocery store in Griffith and a member of the First Assembly of God. He married Mary Ruth Hancock in 1951 at Nocona. She died in 1997. Survivors include two stepsisters, Dessie Vanbebber and Lola Tipton, both of Bowie.
