Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mr. Freeman was born in Brownwood. He graduated from Texas Tech University in 1961. He worked for the State Health Department. He was a registered professional engineer and retired as Director of Utilities from the city of Amarillo. He was a member and past president of the Downtown Lions Club, a board member of the High Plains Children's Home and a host mentor at Sunrise Elementary. He volunteered at the Indoor Sports Club and also was a member of the American Water Works Association, the Texas AWWA, the Water Environment Association, the Panhandle Water Utilities Association and the Texas Water Utilities Association. Mr. Freeman was a member and elder at Central Church of Christ. He married Patricia Taylor in 1958 at Brownwood. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Rhonda Burrows and Kathy Freeman, both of Amarillo; a son, John Freeman of Mesquite; his twin brother, Don Freeman of Burkburnett; and seven grandchildren. Burial will be in Tucumcari Memorial Park by Dunn Funeral Home of Tucumcari. Mrs. Webb was born in Dalhart, Texas, and was a longtime resident of Tucumcari. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Tucumcari. She helped with the Sunday night suppers and worked in the nursery. She was a school bus driver and had worked in the cafeteria for the Tucumcari school system, retiring in 1990. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cleo Webb, in 1974. Buford GUYMON, Okla. - Dr. E.L. "Doc" Buford, 86, died Thursday, Nov. 30, 2000. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Grace Southern Baptist Church with the Rev. Aaron Summers, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Elmhurst Cemetery by Henson-Novak Funeral Directors. Dr. Buford was born in Collinsville. He attended Oklahoma A&M and earned his bachelor's degree in 1937. He graduated from University of Oklahoma Medical School in 1941 and completed his internship in Erie, Pa. He served in the military during World War II, beginning his career as a surgeon in the 382nd Regiment. He was battalion surgeon in Fort Lewis, Wash., and had also served at Fifth General Hospital in London. In 1945 he moved to Guymon, where he practiced medicine until the late 1970s when he retired. He was a charter member and deacon of the Grace Baptist Church. He had helped to establish Guymon Memorial Hospital and had served on its board of directors. He was a mentor and was on the admissions committee for the University of Oklahoma Medical School. He married Betty Bishop in 1942. Survivors include his wife; a son, Robert Lee Buford of Amarillo; a daughter, Elizabeth Ward of Denver; and five grandchildren. In lieu of services, the family will receive friends at their residence from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Dec. 16, 2000, and from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Dec. 17, 2000. Arrangements are by Callaway-Jones Funeral Home. Mrs. Edwards was born in Stewart County, Tenn. She served in the Army during World War II. She lived in College Station for 15 years, moving from Borger. She was a Girl Scout Leader and a volunteer with Hospice and the American Red Cross. She was a member of the Phillips Garden Club in Borger, the Oaks Garden Club, and First United Methodist Church in Bryan. Survivors include her husband, J.R. Edwards; three daughters, Lynn Charpentier of Ashland, Va., Julia Ann Lisec of Alamogordo, N.M., and Karen Smith of Amarillo; a sister, Gertrude Morrison of Nashville, Tenn.; and two grandsons. Amarillo Sunday News-Globe Dec. 3, 2000 Dalton Lindley MEADE, Kan. - Dalton Lindley, 68, died Friday, Dec. 1, 2000. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Meade Church of Christ with Tom Elliott officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery by Fidler-Orme Mortuary. Mr. Lindley was born in Lakeview, Texas, and graduated from Lakeview High School in 1951. He moved to Meade 12 years ago. He was manager for Ralston Purina and Worley Mills. He and his wife owned and operated the Dalton Bedpost Motel. He was a member of the Church of Christ and the Chamber of Commerce. He was past president of the Rotary Club of Clayton, N.M., and a member of the Sheriff Posse in Clayton. He was past president of the XIT Rangers in Dalhart, Texas. Mr. Lindley married Odessa Saunders in 1951 at Memphis, Texas. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Tanja Thornton of Meade and Saundra Reece of Albuquerque, N.M.; two brothers, J.W. Lindley of Memphis and Thollie Lindley of Lakeview; a sister, Nancy Montgomery of Olivia, Minn.; and five grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Tipton Children's Home. Memorials will be accepted at the funeral home.
