Cook, 91, died Sunday, April 2, 2000. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors Colonial Chapel with the Rev. Jim Teeter, pastor of St. Paul United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery with graveside rites by Pampa Masonic Lodge No. 966 AF&AM. Mr. Cook was born in Graham and had lived in Pampa since 1926. He graduated from Wellington High School and attended the University of Texas at Austin. He had been a welder for Milliron Engineering, retiring in 1970. He was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, Pampa Masonic Lodge No. 966 AF&AM and Order of the Eastern Star Chapter No. 65. He married June Converse in 1934 at Sayre, Okla. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Shirley Hoover, in 1983. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Wanda Lou McIver of San Angelo; a son, Donald L. Cook of Tyler; two sisters, Aileen McConnell of Pampa and Lorene Wilson of Duck Hill, Miss.; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Mr. Valle was born in San Benito and had lived in Hereford over 25 years. He was a laborer and worked for Griffin & Brand Produce. He was a member of San Jose Catholic Church. He married Emilia Badillo in 1963 at San Benito. Mrs. Hall was born in Claremore, Okla. and educated at Borger. She moved from Wichita Falls to Dalhart in 1965. She was in the health care profession. Mrs. Goodwin was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ at Borger. She married Ray Goodwin in 1953 at Clayton, N.M. Survivors include her husband; a son, Jerry Chatwell of Borger; two brothers, Clifford Rhoads of Munday and Raymond Rhoads of Abilene; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. The family will be at 1230 Roosevelt in Borger. Amarillo Daily News, April 4, 2000 W. Bee Burgess PAMPA - W. Bee Burgess, 91, died Sunday, April 2, 2000. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. John Glover, associate pastor of First Baptist Church, and the Rev. Reginald Bridges, a Baptist minister, officiating. Burial will be in Mobeetie Cemetery arranged by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mr. Burgess was born in Gray County. He went to barber school when he was 16 and worked at the barber shop on South Cuyler Street until he went to work for Phillips in 1942. He retired in 1973. While at Phillips he continued to cut hair on Saturdays, and after he retired he cut hair at Crowson Barber Shop which he owned and operated. He was member of First Baptist Church and Everyman's Bible Class. He married Viva Willis in 1937 at Pampa. Survivors include his wife of Pampa; two sons, Leon Mason of Arapaho, Okla., and Harold Burgess of Corpus Christi; a daughter, Margo Stanley of Pampa; two brothers, Keith Burgess of Twin Falls, Idaho, and Erless Burgess of Homer, Alaska; a sister, Yvonne Huddleston of Black Eagle, Mont.; seven grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today at Plainview Cemetery with the Rev. Jim McCartney of St. Alice Catholic Church officiating. Arrangements are by Wood-Dunning Funeral Home. Mr. Wyckoff was born in Plainview, where he grew up and spent most of his life. He was a disabled veteran of World War II. After the war, he lived in California for a short time before moving back to Plainview where he was a truck driver. He was a pilot. Survivors include a daughter, Beverly Mayfield of Austin; two sons, Charles Steve Wyckoff of Tulsa and John Stanley Wyckoff; and eight grandchildren. Memorials may be made to a favorite charity. Burial will be in the Lockney Cemetery arranged by Moore-Rose-White Funeral Home. Mr. Guerrero was born in Texas City and attended school in McAllen. He moved to Lockney in 1959. He retired from farming in 1996. He was a member of San Jose Catholic Church. He married Adelina Ayala in 1955 at McAllen. Survivors include his wife; six sons, Ruben Guerrero Jr., Rene Guerrero and Jose Luis Guerrero, all of Lockney, Richard Guerrero of San Antonio, Rigoberto Guerrero of Sherman and Rogelio Guerrero of Lubbock; two daughters, Maria Isabel Ybarra of Fort Worth and Elizabeth G. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle. Mrs. Doud was born in Dallas and lived most of her life in Amarillo. She worked for Toot'n Totum. She was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, was a sustaining member of the Junior League of Amarillo and played bridge. She moved to Spring in 1992 and later moved to The Woodlands. Mrs. Doud was preceded in death by her husband, Wilfred Doud, in 1969. Survivors include a son, Tommy Doud of Spring; and two grandchildren. Private burial will be at 4 p.m. today in Memorial Park Cemetery by Colonial Funeral Chapel, 1010 W. Ninth Ave. Mr. McClain was born in Wildorado. During World War II he served with the Army Air Corps in the South Pacific. He married Christine "Chris" Ohrvall in 1947 at Tulsa, Okla. He moved to Amarillo in 1947. He was an aviation mechanic, retiring in 1980 from Bell Helicopter. In 1994, he received the Charles Taylor Master Mechanic Award for more than 50 years service. He was a member of Polk Street United Methodist Church, the Home Builders Sunday school class, the Experimental Aircraft Association and the Aviation and Space Museum. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Selma Douglass and Cherry Sanchez, both of Amarillo; three sons, Roger McClain of Bartlesville, Okla., and Bill McClain and Tracy McClain, both of Amarillo; a brother, Gene McClain of Amarillo; 13 grandchildren; and two greatgrandchildren. Mrs. Morgan was born in Yowell and moved to Amarillo in 1969. She was a child care worker and a Baptist. He was a veteran of the Marines and a carpenter. He was a member of San Jacinto Baptist Church. Survivors include a son, Dean Marsh of Amarillo; a daughter, Allison Marsh of Tenino, Wash.; two sisters, Sue Sundblom of Kimball, Neb., and Claudette Cain of Cheyenne, Wis.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Mrs. Douglass was born in Virginia, Ill. In 1926 the family moved to Ashland. She attended school in Beardstown and Ashland. She lived in Amarillo the last seven years. She was a homemaker and a member of Washington Avenue Christian Church. She married Chester A. Douglass in 1930 at Prentice, Ill. He died in 1999. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Geraldine Elizabeth Douglass. Survivors include a son, Gerald A. Douglass of Amarillo; five grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. Georgia St. Mrs. Mitchell was born in Stephenville and was a graduate of Olden high school. She lived in West Texas and settled in Hedley before moving back to Olden. She was a World War II Red Cross volunteer and a church secretary. She was a member of First Baptist Church in San Angelo. Mrs. Mitchell was preceded in death by two husbands, Jay L. Brown in 1958 and Jack Mitchell; and a son, Jimmy Ray Brown. Survivors include two sons, Max Brown of Amarillo and Grady Brown of Houston; a stepdaughter, Patricia Scott of Dallas; two sisters, Lillian Morrow of Yantis and Ardie Hamilton of Mineral Wells; six grandchildren; and seven greatgrandchildren. He was a construction worker. He belonged to many Amarillo organizations including Trinity Fellowship Church. Survivors include a son, Dallas Whipple of Amarillo; a sister, Robin Priest of Amarillo; a brother, Robert Whipple of Dallas; and two grandchildren. Thacker Haynes, pastor of the First United Methodist Church in McLean, officiating. Burial will be in Mobeetie Cemetery by Wright Funeral Home of Wheeler. Mr. Wallis was a rancher and cowboy. He worked for the Britt Ranch in Wheeler, the Webb Ranch north of McLean and the Theis Ranch near Chama, N.M. He was a veteran of the Korean War, where he served in the Army as a corporal. He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Wallis. Survivors include a son, Larry Wallis of McLean; two daughters, Jaylene Fairless and Donna Wallis, both of Amarillo; two brothers, Wayne Wallis of Amarillo and Autry Wallis of Mesquite; three sisters, Marvella of Port Charles, La., Vondell of Mesquite and June of Lubbock; eight grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
