Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in First Christian Church with Dr. William S. Inglish and M. Rick Hendricks officiating. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. on Aug. 16 in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are by Strode Funeral Home in Stillwater. Mrs. Scanlan was born in Quay County, N.M., and grew up in Forest, N.M. She completed her degree in registered nursing at Northwest Texas Hospital in 1934. She worked in the operating room and emergency room before becoming head nurse of the hospital's pediatric ward. In 1958, she became a nurse for the Amarillo Public Schools, eventually serving as administrator for school nurses in Amarillo. She retired in 1975. She was a member of the Quilter's Guild and First Christian Church. She moved to Stillwater in 1990. She married Richard Michael Scanlan in 1934 at Tulia. He died in 1985. Survivors include a daughter, Jane Kay Defee of Stillwater; and two grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Stillwater Medical Center Foundation, P.O. Mr. Scholz was born in Flensburg, Germany, and had lived in Abilene since 1986, moving from Austin. He had worked for Albertson's, Big Lots No. 1208 in Abilene. Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Alanreed Cemetery at Alanreed with the Rev. O.K. Bowen officiating. Arrangements are by Lamb Funeral Home. Mr. Turner was born in Strawberry, Ark. He moved to Texas and attended schools in Alanreed and McLean. He farmed in the McLean area with his wife. He operated the Phillips 66 service station in McLean, and owned Turner Oil Company in Olton. He retired to McLean in 1978. He was a Baptist and an ordained deacon. He married Dealva "Dood" Smith in 1937. She died in 1989. He also was preceded in death by his second wife, Nora Dragoo Turner, in 1999. Survivors include three daughters, Jo Ann Boyd of Albuquerque, N.M., Bobby Carson of Rolla, Mo., and Glenda Carter of Austin; a son, Gary D. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery by Stickley-Hill Funeral Directors. Mrs. Estes was born near Durham in Roger Mills County, Okla. She attended the Bend of the River School and graduated from Durham High School. She attended Oklahoma State University at Stillwater and earned her degree in education at Southwestern State College in Weatherford, Okla. She worked as an educator in Oklahoma and Texas. She had lived in Durham, Reydon, Okla., Oklahoma City and Yukon, Okla. She moved to Canadian in 1993. She married Reginald Estes in 1949. He preceded her in death.
