Grisham PANHANDLE - Weldon E. Grisham, 57, died Saturday, Dec. 2, 2000. Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Kathryn Boren, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Panhandle Cemetery by Minton / Chatwell Funeral Directors. Mr. Grisham was born in DeLeon and moved to Panhandle in 1953. A graduate of Panhandle High School, he served with the Navy on the USS Enterprise during the Vietnam War. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Panhandle and James Mecaskey Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 6972. He married Marilyn Gilkerson in 1965 at Hereford. Survivors include his wife; a son, Scott Grisham of Irving; a daughter, Michele Rollans of Allen; his mother, Lorene Grisham of Panhandle; a sister, Donna Held of Panhandle; and two grandchildren. Amarillo Daily News Dec. 4, 2000 Audria Steele DUMAS - Audria Steele, 80, died Saturday, Dec. 2, 2000. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Morrison Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Eddie Tubbs of First Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Northlawn Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Steele was born in Drumright, Okla., and moved to Dumas in 1938. She had worked at a dry cleaners and was a member of First Baptist Church in Dumas. She married Joy Jay Steele in 1938 at Dumas. He died in 1990. Survivors include a daughter, Atrell Leah Davis of Glendale, Ariz.; a son, Raymond J. Steele of Oklahoma City; and eight grandchildren. The family will be at 723 E. Fifth and suggests memorials be to a favorite charity. Amarillo Daily News Dec. 4, 2000 Florine Marie Brockman NAZARETH - Florine Marie Brockman, 77, died Saturday, Dec. 2, 2000, in Dimmitt. Vigil services will be at 7 p.m. today in the CCD Building. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Holy Family Catholic Church with the Rev. Peter Otto, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Holy Family Cemetery by Foskey-Lilley-McGill Funeral Directors of Dimmitt. Mrs. Brockman was born in Nazareth. After graduating from Nazareth High School, she attended St. Anthony's School and Nursing and received a license in vocational nursing. A volunteer at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Amarillo, she was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Christian Mothers, American Legion Auxiliary and Senior Citizens of Nazareth. She married Ernest Brockman in 1945 at Nazareth. Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Shirley Melcher of Austin and LaDonna Miller of Houston; four sons, Richard Brockman of Kirkland, Wash., Hal Brookman of Washington, D.C., Kerry Brockman of Austin, and Mark Brockman of Houston; four brothers, Jerry Wilhelm, James Wilhelm, Francis Wilhelm and Leonard Wilhelm, all of Nazareth; and nine grandchildren. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park at Plainview. Mrs. Jones was born in Kress. Before moving to Dimmitt, she lived in Hart and Happy. A homemaker and rancher, she was a member of First United Methodist Church in Dimmitt and the Texas Angus Auxiliary, serving as secretary for Greater West Texas Angus Association. She married Worth Jones in 1935 at Plainview. Survivors include her husband; a son, Weldon Jones of Hart; two daughters, San Rhodes of Amarillo and Jeton Edge of Colorado Springs, Colo.; a brother, Winfred Rousser of Sunray; a sister, Ramona Mallow of Plainview; a half sister, Marguarite Bowman of California; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Mr. Sadler was born in Capps and moved to Swisher County in 1923. After graduating from Tulia High School, he attended Texas Tech University. A retired farmer, he served on the Agriculture Stabilization Conservation Service board, the Mid-Plains Rural Telephone board and the Tulia Cemetery board. He was a member of the Central Church of Christ. He married Mabel Waldroop in 1961 at Amarillo. Survivors include his wife; and two sons, Bill Chadwell of Covington, Ga., and Bob Chadwell of Chickasha, Okla. Mrs. Tolleson was born in Grady County, Okla., and graduated from schools in Goodlet. A farmer, she was a member of Fourth and Bedford Church of Christ. She married Charles Brooks Tolleson in 1942 at Goodlet. He died in 1985. A homemaker, she had worked at Phillips Chemical Plant in Dumas and in real estate with the Della Dunn office. Her two husbands, Boyd W. Holland and Hollis Harrington, preceded her in death. Survivors include a son, John Boyd Holland of Palm Springs, Calif.; a sister, Kathryn McCook of Albuquerque, N.M.; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Chapel of Memories at Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40, with the Rev. Claud Tugwell officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Hunter was born in Kendrick, Idaho, and moved from Oregon to Amarillo, where she was a longtime resident. She was a homemaker and a member of River Road Baptist Church. She later moved to Fritch. She married James Frank Hunter in 1943 at Oregon. He died in 1994. Survivors include a daughter, Edith Frances Ferrell of Amarillo; two sons, Ervin Wesley Hunter and Jimmie Earl Hunter, both of Amarillo; three brothers, Ervin Wayne Morley of Napa, Calif., Lawrence Lee Morley of Spokane, Wash., and Virgil Carlile Morley of Post Falls, Idaho; 14 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. Burial will be in Clayton Memorial Cemetery by Hass Funeral Directors. Mrs. Cavin was born in Sweetwater, Texas. After marrying Fred Cavin in 1934 at Purcell, Okla., they farmed and ranched in the Clayton area. Her husband died in 1993. She moved to Spearman in 1997. Survivors include three daughters, Jean Fisher of Albany, Ore., Sharon Curry of Cody, Wyo., and Mary Baker of Spearman; two sons, Roy Cavin of Las Vegas and Jerry Cavin of Colorado Springs, Colo.; a sister, Thelma Powers of Purcell, Okla.; 12 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
