Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle. Mrs. Merrill was born in Rockford, Ill. She lived in San Antonio for 20 years before moving to Amarillo nine years ago. She was a credit manager for Affiliated Foods. She volunteered with the United Way and was a member of Lake Tanglewood Community Church. She married Lee Merrill in 1966 at Southfield, Mich. Survivors include her husband; a son, Frank Clark of Fairview; two daughters, Lafemme Davidson of Rowlett and Rene Sherman of Frisco; her mother, Florence Dascomb of San Antonio; two sisters, Justine Thomas of Houston and Delte Smith of Adkins; and three grandchildren. Memorial services will be at a later date. Cremation was by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40. Mrs. Brand was born in Amarillo. She was a retired waitress. She was preceded in death by a son, Ray Charles Smith, in 1992. Survivors include two daughters, Sandra Lester and Jo Quita Smith, both of Amarillo; a sister, Dee Ann Seymour of Amarillo; three brothers, Jack O'pry of Sweetwater, Charles Ray Brand of Albuquerque, N.M., and Roland Brand of Grand Junction, Colo.; and five grandchildren. Amarillo Daily News, May 4, 2000 Donald Earl Fletcher Donald Earl Fletcher, 68, of Amarillo, died Wednesday, April 26, 2000. Private graveside services were held Monday in Llano Cemetery with the Rev. Andrew Parker, associate rector of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, officiating. Arrangements were by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle. Mr. Fletcher was born in Amarillo and graduated from Amarillo High School in 1949. He attended the University of Texas at Austin and was a human resource professional in the oil and gas industry. He had worked in Texas, Pennsylvania, Delaware, New York and California. He was personnel manager for American Independent Oil Company, acquired by Phillips Petroleum in 1984, in New York City and later at Houston. In 1985, he retired and returned to Amarillo. Mr. Fletcher was a member of the American Association of Industrial Relations Directors, the Amarillo Masonic Lodge No. 731 AF&AM and St. Andrew's Episcopal Church. Mr. Fletcher was preceded in death by a son, John Biffle Fletcher in 1998. He is survived by a cousin, Katherine A. Collerain of Granbury. He earned a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Texas Tech University. In 1992, he retired from Corporate Systems in Amarillo and worked as a real estate broker. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. He married Margaret Raef Browder in 1978. She graduated from Clovis High School in 1932. She was a bookkeeper and operated a Frigidaire dealership with her first husband. She was a homemaker and a Methodist. She married Harvey Wagner in 1935. He died in 1955. She married W.R. Panick in 1960. He died in 1985. Survivors include a brother, W.F. He graduated from high school in Borger and attended Panhandle State in Goodwell, Okla. He worked as a painter and for Phillips Petroleum at Phillips and Diamond Shamrock at Dumas. He moved to Eula in 1977 and worked for L.N. Koehn and Bowman Painting in Abilene. He retired in 1986. He was a substitute teacher in Eula and Clyde. He married Mary Lee Brooks Quirk in 1968 at Dumas. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Bob R. Mosley of Cheyenne, Wyo., and Lynn Quirk of Sunray; two daughters, Jackie Shaw of Lubbock and Tronda Foote of Idalou; a brother, Leonard Mosley of Clyde; a sister, Barbara Johnston of Amarillo; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. The family will receive visitors at the family home, south of Eula. Amarillo Daily News, May 4, 2000 Area Glenn Boren PERRYTON - Glenn Boren, 74, formerly of Perryton, died Saturday, April 29, 2000. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. today in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Elwyn Rogers officiating. Cremation was by Boxwell Brothers. Mr. Boren was born in Sayre, Okla. He retired from the Navy after serving in World War II and the Korean War. In 1951, he served in the French Indo-China War. He had been a heavy-equipment operator and retired in Houston as an operating engineer. He moved to the Panhandle area in 1989 and later moved to Portland. Survivors include three daughters, Linda Barganski of Sinton, Dianna Salinas of Corpus Christi and Vera Boren of Houston; two sons, Glenn W. Boren of Corpus Christi and Jody Boren of Portland; four grandchildren; and the mother of his children, Elsie Boren of Portland. McGaughy, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at Dumas Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors of Dumas. Mr. Kirby was born in Hollis, Okla., and had lived in Dumas for more than 20 years. He was a farmer and a Baptist. He married Joyce Drain in 1976 at Fort Worth. John Henson of Dallas and the Rev. Stephen Lowrie, minister, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Hass Funeral Home Inc. Mrs. Henson was born in Dalhart and was a resident for most of her life. She graduated from Dalhart High School and attended Texas Tech University, majoring in education. She had lived in Edna and moved to Dalhart in 1930. For seven years she lived in Amarillo then returned to Dalhart. She moved to Tyler after 1993. Mrs. Henson had taught school for more than 50 years. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church, where she worked in the Children's Sunday school Department. She was a member of the 1928 study club. She married W.D. Henson in 1928 at Dalhart. He died in 1993. Survivors include a son, Tom Henson of Tyler; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She moved to Earth from Port Aransas in 1995. She was a homemaker. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Port Aransas, where she was a soloist and worked with the children's Sunday school. She married Alfred Dutton in 1933 at Jones County. He died in 1998. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Lynda Karen Deans. Survivors include a son, Bryan Dutton of Earth; a sister, Maxine Gitelman of Abilene; five grandchildren; and 10 greatgrandchildren.
