Georgia St. Mrs. Kelly was born in Denver. She had been a longtime resident of Coalinga, Calif., and Amarillo. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Michael Kelly, and a son, Thomas Joseph Kelly. "Little George" Clark Sr., 61, of Amarillo, died Monday, Jan. 3, 2000. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in South Georgia Baptist Church with the Rev. Harry Babbitt, Baptist minister, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Rector Funeral Home, 2800 S. Osage St. Mr. Clark was born in Claude and lived in Amarillo most of his life. He attended Amarillo High School and Amarillo College. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy when he was 17. He owned service stations in Amarillo. He worked more than 25 years at Pantex, where he was an area mechanic. He retired in 1997. He married Eva Houchin in 1956 at Tucumcari, N.M. She died in 1995. Survivors include two daughters, Carla Clements and Christie Wilhite, both of Canyon; two sons, Michael Clark of Princeton and George Clark Jr. of Amarillo; two sisters, Delta Armstrong of Springfield, Tenn., and Sue Ross of Kiln., Miss.; two brothers, Bob Clark of Amarillo and Bill Clark of Keithville, La.; and five grandchildren. The family will be at 2513 Vernon St. Amarillo Daily News, Jan. 5, 2000 Joe Sargent Joe Sargent, 87, formerly of Amarillo, died Saturday, Jan. 1, 2000, in San Marcos. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Polk Street United Methodist Church Chapel in Amarillo. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mr. Sargent was born in Fort Worth where he attained the rank of Eagle Scout. He graduated from Texas Christian University in 1934 with a degree in journalism. He worked for the Hutchinson County Herald in Borger and the Amarillo Globe-News. During World War II he was a captain in the 66th Infantry Division and served in the occupying army in Austria after the war. He returned to Amarillo and the Globe-News. He retired in 1977 as a retail advertising sales manager. After his retirement Mr. Sargent was active in his private print shop making business cards, stationary and invitations on a 1905 Chandler & Price Platen press. He was a longtime member of Polk Street United Methodist Church, where he was a member of the McDavid Sunday school class, served on the administrative board and was an usher. He was a member of the Kiwanis Club, the Advertising Club of Amarillo and the Midwest Newspaper Advertising Executive Association. Mr. Sargent moved to Austin in 1993 and later to San Marcos. In 1947 he married Dorothy Brown, who also worked on the Globe-News advertising staff. She died in 1985. Survivors include two sons, Ben Sargent of Austin and Ed Sargent of Oklahoma City; a brother, Ben C. Sargent of Walnut Creek, Calif.; and two grandchildren. She was a homemaker and a Christian. She married Jack Watson in 1962 at Albuquerque, N.M. He died in 1995. Survivors include two daughters, Cindy Watson of Amarillo and Wendy Watson of Clayton, N.M.; three sisters, Eileen Neal of Albuquerque, Betty Frantz of Hartley and Gene Sechrist of Dalhart; and two grandchildren. Hefley D.W. Hefley, 76, of Canyon, died Monday, Jan. 3, 2000. Mr. Hefley was born in Shamrock and was a Navy veteran of World War II. In 1975 he retired as a heavy equipment operator in road construction. Mrs. Norris was born in Clarinda, Iowa. She graduated from Iowa City High School and the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy. She worked more than 50 years as a pharmacist in Iowa City. She moved to Clovis five years ago. She married L.K. "Bill" Norris in 1931. He died in 1963. Survivors include a son, Richard N. A retired lieutenant commander, Blank served in the Navy more than 30 years, in World War II, Korea and Vietnam. He was a catapult officer aboard the USS American at the time of his retirement 27 years ago. Mr. Blank was a Mason, a member of the Elk's Lodge and several bowling leagues. He did custom woodwork. Mr. Sprague was born in Dunkirk and graduated from Fredonia High School, where he played football. He lived most of his adult life in Chautauqua County. He was a truck driver. Mr. Antillon was born in Nacore Sonora, Mexico and moved to Bovina 25 years ago from Chihuahua, Mexico. He was a farmhand and member of St. Ann's Catholic Church. He married his wife, Olga, in 1946. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Mirna Olga Antillon. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1975 and a daughter, Virginia Jordan, in 1995. He lived in Amarillo prior to moving to Norman three years ago.
