Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Church of God In Christ, Jackson Chapel, with the Rev. Henry Jackson officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery by Wallace Funeral Home. Mrs. Jackson was born in Frost. She grew up in the east Texas area and moved to Lubbock, where she attended schools. She moved to Tulia in 1952 and had worked in the maintenance department of the Swisher County Courthouse. She was a member of the Church of God In Christ, Jackson Chapel. She married Ray Lee Powell in 1956. He preceded her in death. She married Albie E. White in 1976 at Tulia. Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Barbara Yarbrough, Carolyn Wafer and Sherri Shivers, all of Tulia; five sons, Kenneth Powell, Tony Powell, Jerl Powell and Steven Powell, all of Tulia and Roland Powell of Amarillo; her mother, Gellia Hooker of Tulia; two sisters, Barbara Jackson and Gwen Roberts, both of Oklahoma City; 29 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Amarillo Daily News, July 5, 2000 Bob Gleason TULIA - Bob Gleason, 69, died Monday, July 3, 2000, in Amarillo. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Charles Davenport, of the church, officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery by Wallace Funeral Home. Mr. Gleason was born in Wilsey, Kan. He grew up in Council Grove, Kan., where he graduated from high school. He attended Manhattan Business College, now known as Kansas State University. In 1951, he joined the Army and served during the Korean War. He also served in the Army Reserves until he was discharged in 1962. He was past commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post in Eldorado, Kan. Mr. Gleason moved to Tulia in 1962 and had worked as manager of electrical operations for Swisher Electric. He was a member of the Tulia Rotary Club and the First Baptist Church, where he also served as deacon. He married Virginia in 1951 at Emporia, Kan. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Michael Gleason of Grapevine and Jim Gleason of Allen; four sisters, Davida Driscoll and Emma Thompson, both of Wichita, Kan., Jeanne Evans of Washington, D.C., and Lorraine Asplin of Dwight, Kan.; and three grandsons. Memorial services will be at 7 p.m. Thursday in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, Ivy Chapel, 2820 Virginia Circle in Amarillo, with Davlyn Duesterhaus, chaplain with Baptist St. Anthony's Health System, officiating. Mr. Branham was born in Defiance, Ohio, and had lived in Borger for eight months. He was a computer technician. Survivors include his father and stepmother, James Richard and Barbara Branham of Paris; his mother, Lorraine Denise Schoenfeld of Philadelphia, Tenn.; his stepmother, Veronica Branham of Reno; three brothers, Jimmie Branham of Irving, Jason Branham of Paris and Tommy Scott of Philadelphia; a sister, Amy-Kathryn Branham of Paris; four stepbrothers, Dennis Beyer of Dallas, Jason Beyer and Lonnie McMikel, both of Paris and Tracy McMikel of Hawaii; and two stepsisters, Theresa Beyer Groome and Sherri McMikel, both of Paris. Mrs. Logue was born in Grayson County and had lived in Dumas for 82 years. John Baird, pastor, Dr. Henry L. Chennault, of Oklahoma City, and the Rev. John V. Chennault, pastor of First Baptist Church of El Reno, Okla., officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Hass Funeral Home. Mrs. Chennault was born in Renown, Saskatchewan, Canada. She married S.J. Chennault in 1938 at Amarillo, and they moved to Dalhart. She was a member of Lakeview United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women and PTA. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Joan Cumming of Dalhart; a son, Larry Chennault of Carrollton; a sister, Doreen Zumwalt of Dalhart; a brother, Kenneth Stanley of Dalhart; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Sergio Vaquera of Perryton and the Rev. Jerry Jewell, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Wheeler Cemetery by Wright Funeral Home. Mrs. Robles was born in Mission. She moved to Wheeler from Pampa in 1970 and was a member of the Christian Cannan Church at Wheeler and the First Baptist Church. She married Demencio Martinez Robles in 1957 at Haskell. He died in 1976. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Teresa, in August. Survivors include a son, Ricky Robles of Wheeler; a daughter, Christine Earl of Wheeler; six brothers, Paul Valencia of Lubbock, Lupe Valencia of Munday, George Valencia and Gilbert Valencia, both of Brownwood, Tom Valencia of Altus, Okla., and Angel Valencia of Graham; two sisters, Maria Gonzales of Dos Palos, Calif., and Lillie Rodriquez of Brownwood; and six grandchildren. Mr. Jacobs was born in Chicago and lived in New York. He graduated from Caprock High School and had worked for the Radisson Inn in Amarillo. He was manager and sales director for the Plaza Hotel in New York City. He was a member of Temple Baptist Church. She moved to Amarillo in 1942 from Amherst. She was a homemaker and a member of Bykota Baptist Church. She taught Sunday school. She was living in Fort Cobb. She married Erby Jones in 1926 at Amherst. He died in 1996. She also was preceded in death by a son, Marvin Don Jones, in 1996. Survivors include a daughter, Peggy Holman of Amarillo; a son, Bobby Lee Jones of Fort Cobb; two sisters, Lucille Nuttall of South Dakota and Madeen Casey of Portales, N.M.; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Stebbins was born in Wokosuka, Japan. She had been co-owner of Dixie Cream Doughnuts and Magic Steam Laundry. She graduated from Clovis High School in 1986, where she was active in volleyball and basketball. She was on the honor roll throughout her school years and on the Dean's Honor Roll at New Mexico State University in 1987. She had worked as a paralegal at Crane and Tejada Law Firm in Durango, Colo. Survivors include her parents, Bobbie and Swede Johnson of Clovis and Tony and Anna Pearson of Hobbs; a brother, Kevin Pearson of Albuquerque; and grandparents, Sue Crow of Clovis, Thama Pearson Combs of Hereford, Texas and Mutt Wheeler of Hereford. Graveside services will be at 5 p.m. today in Eastview Cemetery with Roe Hallmark officiating. Arrangements are by Sullivan Funeral Home. Mr. Tennell was born in Allen, Okla. In 1929, he moved to Harrold, Wilbarger County where he was a longtime resident. He retired as owner and operator of Tellell Service Station. He was a member of the Church of Christ. He married Lucille Hallmark in 1927 at Ada, Okla. He was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Don Tennell; and by two daughters, Una Germany and Doris Spurlock. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Wayne Tennell of Electra and Alton Tennell of Fritch; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Frank Wilson Funeral Home. Mrs. Shafer lived in Odessa for 60 years. She attended schools in Ranger and Borger and graduated from Phillips High School.
