He graduated from Groom High School, where he was football team captain in 1939 and lettered in basketball. He had worked on the family stock farm. He was an Army Air Corps engineer and top turret gunner in the eighth Air Force Bomber Station at England. He received the Flying Cross. Mr. Britten was a cattleman and patron of Amarillo Livestock Auction. He owned and operated Tower Fuel Stop of Groom and was founder of the Leaning Water Tower in Groom. He was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church. He married Mary McDonald in 1951 at Dalhart. Jim Smith, pastor of St. Stephen United Methodist Church, and Pastor Haun Kite of North Amarillo Church of Christ officiating. Graveside services and burial will follow at 4 p.m. in Arapaho Cemetery in Arapaho, Okla., with Pastor Clarence Shepherd, Baptist minister, officiating. Mr. Hamblin was born in Clinton, Okla. A high school graduate, he served with the Army during World War II. In 1961, he moved to Amarillo from Lawton, Okla., and worked as an automotive supply distributor until his retirement. In Lawton, he was a member of the American Business Club. He was a 32nd degree Mason and a past president and member of the Khiva Shrine Temple. He was lead guitarist for the Country Pride Band and a member of the Western Swing Band. He married Faye Shephard in 1947 at Clinton. Osage St. Mrs. Lockhart was born in Lambert, Okla., and grew up in Waynoka before moving to Amarillo in 1954. She was the activity director at Amarillo Nursing Center. She was a member of the Altergate Sunday school class and served on the Staff Parish Committee at Kingswood United Methodist Church. She was a member of T.O.P.S. Club and Wildrose Lodge. She married Bud Lockhart in 1950 at Waynoka, Okla. She was a homemaker and a member of the San Antonio Catholic Church. She had lived in Clovis for the past eight years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gail Chacon, in 1996. Mr. Blanda was born in Youngwood, Pa. He earned a bachelor's degree in petroleum engineering from Texas Tech University. During World War II, he was a captain in the Marines. He was a petroleum engineer and district superintendent for Kewanee Oil Co., later a part of Gulf Oil and then Chevron. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Oklahoma, the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the First Presbyterian Church. Mr. Blanda married Betty Diltz in 1942 at Clovis, N.M. Mrs. Cantwell was born in Benton, Ark., and attended schools in Blue Ridge and Canadian. During World War II, she worked in an airplane factory in Torrance, Calif. In 1945, she returned to Canadian and worked as a receptionist and nurse for Dr. Rush Snyder. A member of First Baptist Church, she was president of her Sunday school class, taught girls auxiliary and helped with Vacation Bible School and the library. She was a member of the Fifties Plus Club and held offices in the Women's Missionary Union. She married Drew Cantwell in 1928 at Zybach. He died in 1984. She was a member of the Body of Christ Amarillo South, the Reapers Bible Study, Mi Beth Ave El Torah Study and attended Sunday school at the First Baptist Church in Plainview. She married Dr. Allen Stewart in 1962. He died in 1983. She was also preceded in death by two sons, Walter Lee Connell, in 1965, and Rodney Connell, in 1978. Survivors include her daughter, Beth McBeth of Plainview; four grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Memorial services were at 10 a.m. Saturday in Crossings Community Church of Oklahoma City. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Elmhurst Cemetery at Guymon with the Rev. Mike Chaffin, pastor of Victory Memorial United Methodist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Henson-Novak Funeral Directors. Mrs. Porter was born in Houston, Texas, and raised in Dallas. She graduated from Sunset High School and attended Texas Christian University at Fort Worth, Texas. She retired and moved to Guymon in 1971 and to Norman in 1998. She married Chauncey Allen Porter in 1961 at Dallas. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Henry Fuqua and Al Porter. Survivors include a son, Keith Porter of Houston; a daughter, Kim Marsh of Little Rock, Ark.; and five grandchildren. Kerr, 91, died Thursday, Nov. 2, 2000, in Oklahoma City. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Kim Domnick officiating. Burial will be in Hooker Cemetery by Roberts Brothers Funeral Home. Mr. Kerr was born in Croft, Kan., and farmed in the Hooker area. After graduating from high school in Coats, Kan., in 1929, he attended Kansas State University and was a member of Farmhouse Fraternity. A longtime resident of Hooker, he was a member of the Lion's Club and the Chamber of Commerce. He was a 32nd degree Mason, a Shriner and served as Texas County Commissioner. He served on the board and was a member of First United Methodist Church. He married Dorothea Della Harper in 1931 at Moscow, Kan. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Janice Orr of Edmond and Prudence Bone of Springfield, Mo.; a son, Larry Kerr of Oklahoma City; two sisters, Nellie Carveth of Butte, Mont., and Hazel Hess of Ellis, Kan.; seven grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and 10 greatgrandchildren. Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Mount View Garden Chapel with the Rev. Walt Kelley officiating. Burial will be in Mount View Memorial Park Cemetery by Mountain View Funeral Home. Mrs. Barnes was born in Morgan, Texas. After graduating from Patten High School in Amarillo in 1936, she attended Paul Quinn College in Waco, Texas, and received a bachelor of art degree from Tillotson College in Austin, Texas. A teacher in the Amarillo and Lubbock, Texas, public school systems, she was a featured vocalist in the Roland Choir and a former member of the Mount Zion Baptist Church Choir in Amarillo. A member of First Baptist Church in Lakewood, she was active in the music ministry. During World War II, she was a military service club director and served in Amarillo, Dalhart, Texas, Germany and Fort Lewis. She retired in 1989.
