Mrs. Brooks was born in Owenton, Ky., and had lived in Borger since 1927. She graduated from William Woods College at Fulton, Mo. She was a volunteer at the hospital and assistant chairman for the Red Cross staff. She was a charter member of the Paragon Study Club and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She sponsored the Jane Phillips Sorority and was a member of the Tri-City community Concert Association, the Amarillo Symphony, the Amarillo Art Center and the Borger Federate Music Club. Mrs. Brooks was a homemaker and a member of the Faith Covenant Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. W.W. Brooks; and by two sons, William Martin "Bill" Brooks and Mike Brooks.
