She had been a bookkeeper for a furniture store and was a member of the Church of Christ. She married John Ira Foster in 1929 at Memphis. He died in 1951. Survivors include a son, John Foster of Memphis; a daughter, Shirley Hansard of Memphis; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to a favorite charity. Jonathan Back, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery by Brown Funeral Home. Mrs. Smith was born in Marble City, Okla., and had lived in Borger 50 years. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of God. She married Maniard Wilson Smith in 1932 at Stillwell, Okla. She was preceded in death by a son, Woodrow Wilson Smith, in 1943. Survivors include her husband; six sons, Johnny Smith, Jerry Smith, Carl Smith and Don Smith, all of Borger, Luther Smith of Bowie and Bobby Smith of Guymon, Okla.; four daughters, Etta Mae West and Pauline Farmer, both of Borger, Edith Barker of Tunnel Hill, Ga., and Helen Wiggin of Guymon; four brothers, Felix Cole of Broken Arrow, Okla., Dewey Cole of Wichita Falls and Edward Cole and Wilbur Cole, both of Borger; 36 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Brad Reeves officiating. Burial will be in Bailey County Cemetery by Ellis Funeral Home. Mr. Young was born in Lubbock. He moved from Wolfforth to Muleshoe in 1967. He was an Army veteran and served in the Vietnam War. He was past commander and quartermaster for the Muleshoe and area Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a member of the Muleshoe Masonic Lodge and a 32nd Degree Mason. He was subsidiary manager of the Plateau Cellular and Five Area Telephone Systems. He served on the board for the Texas Telephone Association, the Texas State Wide Telephone Association and the National Telephone Association. He was past president of the American Heart Association, the Muleshoe Jaycees, Kiwanis, Muleshoe Chamber of Commerce and Muleplex Productions and was a member of the First United Methodist Church. He married Patricia Purcell in 1967 at Wolfforth. Survivors include his wife; his father, Melvin L. Young of Gretna, La.; a son, Tadd Young of Muleshoe; a daughter, Tisha Hughes of Muleshoe; and a sister, Linda Jackson of Gretna. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Llano East Cemetery with the Rev. Marty Hamrick, associate pastor of Polk Street United Methodist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle. Mrs. Oxford was born in Ochiltree County and moved at age 2 to Perryton. She graduated from Perryton High School and attended Texas Tech University. She lived in Lamesa before moving to Amarillo in 1942. She worked for Professional Acceptance Corp. and later for Pritchard and Abbott until her retirement in 1972. She was a member and officer of study clubs and Polk Street United Methodist Church organizations. She taught a children's Sunday school class and was a member of the Susanna Wesley Sunday school class. She volunteered with the Texas Department of Health and Human Services. She married J.B. Oxford in 1938 at Perryton. He died in 1996. Survivors include a son, Jay Oxford of Irvine, Calif.; and two granddaughters. Osage St., with the Rev. Jerry Davey of Pleasant Valley Christian Church officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Brown was born in Biloxi, Miss. He was in the Army and served in World War II. He had lived in Amarillo 30 years and was a service contractor for mobile home sales. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Big Spring. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Helen Brown, in 1983. Survivors include three sons, Robert W. Brown, Richard K. Brown and Mark S. He lived in Amarillo much of his life and was a graduate of Amarillo College. He married Linda Sue Trilk in 1974 at Amarillo. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Jackie Lynn Trilk in 1977. Odie Nunley officiating. Arrangements are by Bunch-Roberts Funeral Home of Guymon. Mr. Murphy was born in Clifford Eight, Ill. He served in the Army during World War II. He worked in road construction. He moved to Optima in 1983 from Mancos, Colo. He married Loretta Stid in 1967 at New Madrid, Mo. She died in 1998. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Clark Funeral Service Chapel. Mr. Heath was born in Ringling. He attended school in Milburn. He later moved to Borger, then returned to Tishomingo in 1969. He worked as a painter at Murray State College and was a painting contractor before his retirement. He married Dovie Violet "Vi" Gipson in 1968 at Borger. Survivors include his wife; a son, Cecil Dean Gipson of Dumas, Texas; two brothers, Carl Heath of Tishomingo and Berry Heath of Ravia; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Mrs. Lowry served on the Optima election board and worked on the United Methodist Church food committee. She was a member of the Rebekka Lodge. She married Ray Quay Lowry in 1933. They farmed together in the Hooker area. Her husband preceded her in death in 1998. Survivors include a son, George Lowry of Hooker; a daughter, Irma Jean Eufinger of Oklahoma City; a sister, Ulah Mae Blackwelder of Hooker; one grandchild; and two great-grandchildren.
