He served in the Army during the Korean War. He retired as a postal clerk with the U.S. Postal Service. He attended Trinity Fellowship Church. He married Betty Currie in 1952 at Amarillo. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Billy Burns of Amarillo and Barry Burns of Canyon; and four granddaughters. The family suggests memorials be to the American Heart Association, 2404 W. He had worked for Scoggin-Dickey in sales, retiring in 1984. She was a member of College Heights Baptist Church. She moved back to Amarillo seven years ago. She married James Walter "Walt" Phinny in 1932 at Corsicana. He died in 1974. Mr. Oneal died in 1988. She was a member of First Baptist Church. She received the Earliest Resident Award from the church in 1993. She served as a Sunday school teacher and also was a church treasurer. He was a farmer and rancher and a pioneer in water well drilling and irrigation. Mr. Finley was a member of the International Flying Farmers, and a member of the First Baptist Church, where he had also worked in the nursery. He married Elizabeth Barrett in 1943. She died in 1976. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Prairie Dell Cemetery with the Rev. Robert Meller, pastor of Gem City Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Stickley-Hill Funeral Directors. Mrs. Bossler was born in Hemphill County. She graduated from Cache High School at Cache, Okla., in 1929. She married Charles Franklin Bossler in 1934 at Arnett, Okla. He died in 1957. After his death she returned to Hemphill County from Stafford, Kan. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Christian Church. She is survived by nieces and nephews, including Sid Henderson of Canadian and Sid Bayless of Amarillo. Amarillo Daily News, July 6, 2000
