Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. B.F. Roberts, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by WarfordWalker Mortuary, 509 N. Hughes. Mrs. Calloway was born in Lubbock and had lived in Amarillo for 65 years. A member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, she sang in the choir and served on several committees. Her husband, Alexander "Cab" Calloway, preceded her in death. Survivors include seven sons, Alexander Calloway Jr., of Amarillo, Autrey Calloway, Edward Calloway and Billy Ralph Calloway, all of Chicago, Benny Calloway and John Calloway, both of Dallas, and Calvin Calloway of Denver; seven daughters, Betty Calloway-Muhammad, Barbara Calloway Kimbrell and Mary E. Calloway, all of Kansas City, Mo., Ima Louise Calloway-Denmon of Phoenix, May Frances Calloway-Caldwell of Chicago, Mary L. Calloway of Fort Worth and Marilyn Calloway-Cunningham of Midland; 32 grandchildren; and 38 great-grandchildren. The family will be at 806 N. Polk St. Viewing will be from 2 p.m. until 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Amarillo Daily News Nov. 6, 2000 Ted Bliss Ted Bliss, 68, of Amarillo, died Saturday, Nov. 4, 2000. Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Washington Avenue Christian Church with Sherman Eastland, chaplain of Northwest Texas Healthcare System, officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle. Mr. Bliss was born in South Bend, Ind., and had lived in Amarillo for 28 years. A veteran of the Navy during the Korean War, he was a truck driver with numerous safety awards and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars No. 1475. He married Alma Hawkins Hetzler in 1975 at Amarillo. Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Cheryl Parsons of Summerfield, Fla., Carol Blanco of Pacoima, Calif., and Vicky Bails of Amarillo; three sons, Bill Hetzler and Scott Hetzler, both of Amarillo, and Drew Hetzler of Cincinnati; his mother, Pearl Snyder of Niles, Mich.; two sisters, Pat Teeter of Vandalia, Mich., and Debbie Reinoehl of Niles; 14 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. The family will be at 6300 Bayswater in Amarillo and suggests, in lieu of flowers, memorials be to BSA Hospice, P.O. Box 950, Amarillo, TX 79176-0001. Viewing will be from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Amarillo Daily News Nov. 6, 2000 Oklahoma Sam Jacoby GAGE, Okla. - Sam Jacoby, 59, died Friday, Nov. 3, 2000, in Midwest City. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in the Gage School Auditorium. Burial will be at Gage Memorial Cemetery by Good Samaritan Funeral Service of Shattuck. Mr. Jacoby was born in Shattuck. After graduating from school in Gage, he graduated from Northwestern Oklahoma State University at Alva and began coaching and teaching in Prague. In 1969, he moved to Pampa, Texas, where he coached junior high school and taught math. After retiring from Celanes Chemical Co., in 1998, he returned to coaching and teaching in Gage. In 2000 he was named Teacher of the Year. A member of the Christian Church, he taught Sunday school, was youth sponsor and served as deacon, elder and treasurer. He married Willa Dean Bittman in 1962. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Kevin Jacoby of Pampa and Keith Jacoby of Dallas; a daughter, Catherine Jacoby of Dallas; two brothers, Otis Jacoby of North Little Rock, Ark., and Kenny Jacoby of Gage; and three grandchildren.
