Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday in St. Thomas Episcopal Church with the Rev. Lemuel Salik, pastor, and family and friends officiating. Local arrangements are by Gililland-Watson Funeral Home. Mr. Walton graduated from Hereford High School in 1978. He was living in Flagstaff at the time of his death. Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Claudia and Duffy McBrayer of Hereford; his father and stepmother, Floyd and Venda Walton of Alamosa, Colo.; two brothers, Lance Walton of Lubbock and Kim Walton of Clyde; two sisters, DaNell Walton of Greeley, Colo., and Karen Shields of Sherman; and a grandmother, Buddy McBrayer of Hereford. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Morrison Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel with the Rev. H.L. Stevens, retired Assembly of God minister, officiating. Burial will be in Dumas Cemetery. Mrs. Humphrey was born in McKinney and lived in Dumas 20 years. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church in Millerton, Okla. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Wanda Humphrey, in 1942. Survivors include a son, Charles Humphrey of Pasadena, Texas; two daughters, Verna Polk of Dumas and Norma Phillips of Sudan; 13 grandchildren; and 20 greatgrandchildren. Amarillo Daily News, April 8, 2000 Augusta Jones HALE CENTER - Augusta Jones, 90, formerly of Hale County, died Thursday, April 6, 2000. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today in Plainview Memorial Park at Plainview with the Rev. Max Browning officiating. Arrangements are by Freeman-Abell Funeral Home. Mrs. Jones was born in Floydada. She married Bence Jones in 1934 near Hale Center and they farmed in Hale County. He died in 1961. She was involved in community activities in Cotton Center and Hale Center. She was a lifelong Methodist and was involved in church boards and conferences. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Plainview and volunteered as a pink lady at Plainview Hospital. Survivors include two sons, Kit McDaniel of Hale Center and H.T. McDaniel of Fort Worth; two granddaughters; and two great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to the Hi-Plains Nursing Home, P.O. Drawer H, Hale Center, TX 79041; or a favorite charity. Burial will be in Resthaven Garden at Highland Park Cemetery. Mrs. Smith was born in Dallas and lived in Borger 70 years. She was a homemaker and member of the Gardner Street Church of Christ. She married Roy W. Smith in 1947 at Borger. He died in 1967. She also was preceded in death by a son, Dale A. Smith, in 1977. Survivors include a son, Jan D. Patterson BOISE CITY, Okla. - Lula B. Patterson, 86, formerly of Boise City, died Wednesday, April 5, 2000, in Virginia. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Boise City Church of Christ with Dale Coen officiating. Burial will be in Elkhart Cemetery, Elkhart, Kan., by Cimarron Mortuary of Boise City. Mrs. Patterson was born in Texas County, Okla. She was in the restaurant business in Boise City. She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge and had been a member of the Boise City Garden Club. She was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Elkhart. She married Glenn D. Graves in 1931. They farmed together west of Elkhart. He died in 1946. She married Arthur A. O'Neal and they farmed together near Felt. They divorced. She married Joe D. Patterson in 1962. He died in 1968. Survivors include a son, Douglas Graves of Stafford, Va.; two daughters, Lonna Graves Chastain of Plano and Maria MacWilliams of Copperas Cove; two brothers, Frank "Bud" Long of Elkhart and Roy Long of Dent, Minn.; a sister, Alyce Trapp of Dent; and eight grandchildren. Venable CAPITAN, N.M. - O.H. Venable, 84, died Thursday, April 6, 2000, in Amarillo. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Christ Community Fellowship with Ed Vinson, pastor, officiating. Local arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle. Mr. Venable was born in Rankin, Texas. He served during World War II as crew chief in the Army Air Corps. He lived in Roswell for many years and retired as manager at Spitzer A&I. He married Mattie Ruth Horton in 1960 at Roswell. She died in 1990. Survivors include two sons, Jerry N. Cochran and Billy D. Services will be at 11 a.m. today in King of Glory Lutheran Church. Burial with military honors will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell. Mr. Priddy was born in Briggsville, Ark. He lived in Amarillo before moving to New Port Richey 12 years ago. He served in the Navy during World War II. He was a contract administrator for the Atomic Energy Commission. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Amarillo and King of Glory Lutheran Church in New Port Richey. Survivors include his wife, Ruthe E. Priddy; two sons, Barry Priddy of Melbourne, Fla., and Robert Priddy of Las Vegas; two stepdaughters, Vicki Haiduk of Amarillo and Kristy Murr of Dallas; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Services will be at 11 a.m. in First United Methodist Church at Paducah with Jeff Utter, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Paducah City Cemetery by Beck Funeral Home of Austin. Mrs. Stallings was born in Stephenville and was a graduate of North Texas State University and Texas Christian University. She earned a Ph.D. in English from Texas A&M University. She taught school in Hughes Springs, Chillicothe, Paducah, Keller, Amarillo, Fort Worth and Midland and was a professor of English at Tarleton State University. She was preceded in death by her husband, Horace L. Stallings. Survivors include three sons, Robert David Stallings of Austin, John Russell Stallings of Plano and Thomas Leslie Stallings of Amarillo; a daughter, Barbara Jane McKnight of Placedo; a sister, Betty Thompson of Conroe; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Services will be at 11 a.m. today in Ellis Funeral Home Chapel at Muleshoe with Rev. Beth Harrington of Kermit officiating. Burial will be in Muleshoe Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Vineyard was born in Vanatta, Ohio. In 1946 she moved from Dallas to Muleshoe, where she lived until 1968. She moved from San Antonio to Lubbock in 1999. She was a homemaker and a Baptist. She married Russell Bryant in 1946 at Grand Prairie. She married Johnny Vineyard in 1986. He died in 1998. Survivors include a son, Mike Bryant of Plainview; three daughters, Debbie Hurt of Lubbock, Diane Actkinson of Farwell and Kim Shelton of San Antonio; 12 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
