Services will be at 3 p.m. today in First Baptist Church with Dr. Travis Hart of the church officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Lemons Funeral Home. Mrs. Duckett was born in Clarendon and had lived in the Plainview area since 1947. She graduated from high school in Clarendon. She was a member of First Baptist Church. She married J.B. Duckett in 1935 at Clarendon. He died in 1989. Survivors include two daughters, Rose Ann Bailey of Amarillo and Donna Moore of Canyon; a son, Kenneth Duckett of Plainview; eight grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to First Baptist Church building fund. Amarillo Daily News, July 8, 2000 Nora Ray PLAINVIEW - Nora Ray, 87, died Wednesday, July 5, 2000, in Amarillo. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in United Baptist Church with the Rev. Ray McCoy of the church officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Wood-Dunning Funeral Home. Mrs. Ray was born in Waco. She moved to Plainview in 1952 from Groesbeck. She was a member of United Baptist Church. She married Garland Ray Sr. in 1929 at Marlin. He died in 1985. Survivors include three daughters, Narvella Sansom and Ruby Ray, both of Plainview, and Dorothy Robinson of Kress; three sons, Sherman Ray and Garland Ray Jr., both of Amarillo, and Bobby Ray of Plainview; a niece whom she raised, Cora Lockhart of Groesbeck; 43 grandchildren; 97 great-grandchildren; and 29 great-great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to the American Heart Association; or a favorite charity. Amarillo Daily News, July 8, 2000 Scott Elmer Armour PAMPA - Scott Elmer Armour, 93, formerly of Pampa, died Thursday, July 6, 2000, in Shamrock. Graveside services will be at 3:30 p.m. today in Fairview Cemetery with Tom Russell, minister of Central Church of Christ, officiating. Arrangements are by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mr. Armour was born in Bethel Springs, Tenn. He moved to Pampa in 1919 from Tennessee. He lived west of Kingsmill and farmed most of his life. He moved to Shamrock in 1996. He was a member of Central Church of Christ in Pampa. Survivors include two nephews, Paul Kirby of White Deer and Dan Kirby of College Station; and three nieces, Jane Radcliff of Pampa, Linda McClure of Claremore, Okla., and Sue Smith of Fritch. The family suggests memorials be to a favorite charity. Amarillo Daily News, July 8, 2000 Jackie Ray Arnold SHAMROCK - Jackie Ray Arnold, 51, died Sunday, July 2, 2000, in Marietta, Ohio. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in First Baptist Church with Jack Lee, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Shamrock Cemetery by Wright Funeral Directors. Mr. Arnold was born in Shamrock. He graduated from Shamrock High School in 1967 and attended Texas A&M University on a full Army scholarship. He served as captain in the Army for six years. He had lived in Marietta, Ohio, and worked for Degussa Corp. as a chemical engineer. He was a member of the First Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Jane of Marietta; a daughter, Tracy LeeAnn Arnold; a son, Jeremy Todd Arnold; his parents, Stacy and Jean Arnold of Shamrock; and two brothers, Rickie Arnold of Pecos, Scotty Arnold of Lubbock. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Mrs. Bagley was born in Chanute, Kan. She moved to Pampa in 1972 from White Deer. She was a homemaker. She was a member of First Baptist Church and was past secretary / treasurer for the Anna Sunday school class. She married George R. Bagley Sr. in 1930 at Chanute. He died in 1999. Survivors include two daughters, Marilyn Kirkwood of Pampa and Ruth Ann Bailey of Muncie, Ind.; a son, George R. Bagley Jr. of Lovington, N.M.; a sister, Mary Elizabeth Whitworth of Chanute; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to First Baptist Church, 203 N. Amarillo Daily News, July 8, 2000 Bill Noble TULIA - Bill Noble, 62, died Thursday, July 6, 2000. Services will be at 4 p.m. today in Wallace Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Harold Turner officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. Mr. Noble was born in Tyler. He moved to Quitaque at an early age and attended high school there. In 1959, he moved to Tulia and worked as a warehouse foreman at Taylor-Evan Seed Co. He worked as water superintendent for the City of Tulia before he retired. He married Pat Yates in 1958 at Plainview. He was preceded in death by a son, Billy Dale Noble, in 1999. Survivors include his wife; a son, Mike Noble of Plano; two brothers, the Rev. Tom Noble of Sulphur Springs and the Rev. Jim Noble of Stillwater, Okla.; and two sisters, Pat White and Wanda White, both of Dumas. Mr. Andrade was born in Villa Ahumada, Chihuahua, Mexico. He moved from Wildorado to Sudan in 1997. He was a farm laborer in the Bula community and a Catholic. He married Estella Montes in 1982 at Muleshoe. Survivors include his wife; a son, Joel; a daughter, Ruby; two sisters, Lucia Carlos of Roswell, N.M., and Manuela Menchaca of Por Vehir, Mexico; and a brother Librado Andrade of Friona. Services will be at 4 p.m. today in Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40, with the Rev. David Pool of Crown of Texas Hospice and the Rev. Phil Mercado of Trinity Fellowship officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Willard was born in Burkburnett and moved to Amarillo in 1928. She was a homemaker and a member of Trinity Fellowship, where she had worked in the nursery. She married C.V. Willard in 1941 at Amarillo. He died in 1984. Survivors include three daughters, Carroll Casias of Amarillo, Lynda Bean of Windthorst and Gloria Carlson of Renton, Wash.; 19 grandchildren; and 32 great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Crown of Texas Hospice; or Don and Sybil Harrington Cancer Research Center. Amarillo Daily News, July 8, 2000 Nancy Tingley Nancy Stuart Tingley, 83, of Amarillo, died Wednesday, July 5, 2000. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in St. Peter's Episcopal Church with the Rev. John Watson, rector, officiating. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home, 2800 S. Osage St. Ms. Tingley was born in Huntington, W.Va. She served in the Navy during World War II. She moved to Amarillo in 1968 from Pennsylvania. A nursing educator, she established the nursing program at Amarillo College and served as dean from 1968 to 1976. She retired from the University of North Carolina. She was a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church. Survivors include a son, John Wolfe of Amarillo; a sister, Ann Piggott of Amarillo; and three grandchildren. The body will not be available for viewing. Amarillo Daily News, July 8, 2000 John Hicks John Hicks, 74, of Amarillo, died Friday, July 7, 2000. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Grand Avenue Baptist Church. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mr. Hicks was born in Paducah. He worked for Asarco and was a member of the 25-Year Club. Later, he worked for the Amarillo Globe-News for 11 years, where he received several awards for safety. He attended college. He was a member of Grand Avenue Baptist Church. He married Lorena Storey in 1950 at Clovis. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Ama Patricia Cartwright of Lubbock and Sharon Lorena Waldon of Amarillo; two sons, John Charles Hicks of Waxahachie and Wesley Dean Hicks of Amarillo; a sister, Elizabeth Mozelle Garren; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday at Conkle Speedway Funeral Home in Speedway. Burial will be in Lincoln Memory Cemetery. Mr. Gunter was a former Amarillo resident. He served in the Army during World War II. He was a member of the Speedway American Legion Post No. 500, the Masonic Lodge in Wheeler, Texas, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Disabled American Veterans. Survivors include his wife, Bonita M. Armstrong Gunter; two daughters, Melinda L. Potter and Marina L. Hyatt; a son, Terrell W. Gunter; a brother, M.L. Gunter; eight grandchildren; and four greatgrandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Riley Children's Hospital; or Hospice for Preferred Care.
