Services will be at 11 a.m. today in N.S. Griggs & Sons Funeral Directors, Pioneer Chapel, 2615 Paramount Blvd., with the Rev. Terry C. Lowe of St. Stephen United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery of Hereford. Mr. Cardinal was born and raised in Floydada. He graduated from Floydada High School and served in the Marines. During World War II, he was in the first wave going to Guadalcanal and served in several operations at Iwo Jima. He was a longtime resident of Amarillo and worked in restaurant management. He was a member of St. Stephen United Methodist Church. Survivors include two daughters, Janet McCroy of DeSoto and Elaine Holt of Cedar Hill; a brother, Neal Cardinal of Denver; two sisters, Polly Parrish of Dumas and Erma Moon of Lubbock; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Grace Baptist Church. She married Earl Fairchild in 1947 at Clovis, N.M. Survivors include her husband; a son, Mike Fairchild of Amarillo; and two grandchildren. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. to service time Thursday at the funeral home. Amarillo Daily News, Nov. 8, 2000 Imogene Spencer Wright Imogene Spencer Wright, 74, of Amarillo, died Monday, Nov. 6, 2000. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Bolton Street Baptist Church with the Rev. Leon Green officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40. Mrs. Wright was born in Gilmer. She was a graduate of Clarendon High School. She had worked for Taylor Evans, Bivins Nursing Home and Baker & Taylor Drilling Co., before retiring in 1986. She was a member of the Bolton Street Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a son, Donald Wayne Wright, in 1988. Survivors include a daughter, Debra Burks of Amarillo; a son, Ronald Dwayne Wright of Howardwick; a sister, Jeane Bartlett of Amarillo; a brother, Woodie Spencer of Plainview; seven grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Burial will be in Texhoma Cemetery by Dawson-Welch Funeral Home of Texhoma. Mr. Meyer was born in Independence, Mo. He graduated from Texhoma High School. He served in the Army. He moved from Gruver, Texas, to Guymon two years ago. He was a farmer. He married Eva-Mari Loew in 1963 at Texhoma, Okla. He was preceded in death by a son, Roger Meyer, in 1967. Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Holly Meyer of Dallas, Cora Conklin of Denver and Julie Meyer of Stillwater; a brother, Tim Meyer of Texhoma; a sister, Delma Barnum of Stratford; and his mother, Doris Meyer of Texhoma. Memorial services will be at 1:30 p.m. today in First Baptist Church with Dr. Danny Crosby, Kevin Wauer and David Johnson officiating. Burial was at Green Acres Memorial Park by Crosier Pearson Mayfield Funeral Home. Mr. Bible was born in Donley County. He moved to Canyon in 1929 and to Odessa in 1939. During World War II, he served in the Army Air Corps. He farmed in Tulia, then returned to Odessa. He retired from Johnson Brothers Oil Co. In 1991, he moved to Cleburne. He was a member and deacon of the First Baptist Church. He also worked with the church youth and on church committees. Mr. Bible married Louise Johnson in 1941 at Odessa. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Linda Harville of Crowley and Kay White of Cleburne; a brother, Horace Bible of Canyon; a sister, Juanita Neal of Smyer; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He worked for Leonard Hudson Drilling and moved to Highmore, S.D., earlier this year. He was a diesel mechanic and a Baptist. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Elizabeth Jernigan, in 1993. Survivors include a son, Trenton Cade Jernigan of Pampa; a stepson, Dameyun Crain of Highmore; his mother, Mary Jo Jernigan of Pampa; his father, Billy Jernigan of Chandler, Okla; two sisters, Melanie Hazle of Pampa and Monica Warner of Spring; and his grandmother, Hazel Jernigan of Lefors. In 1965, she moved to Plainview and was owner and operator of the Burger Wagon from 1988 to 1999. She married Jerry L. Bradshaw in 1965 at Cedar Hills. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Sheila Pitts of Plainview; two sons, Kevin Bradshaw of Plainview and Michael Bradshaw of Joshua; two brothers, Russ Warren of Plainview and Raymond Warren Jr.; a sister, Norma Kerns of Lubbock; and three granddaughters. Brown, 96, formerly of Perryton, died Friday, Nov. 3, 2000, in Sacramento, Calif. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Church of Christ with Bob Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Ochiltree Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home. Mrs. Brown was born in Sayre, Okla., and had lived in the Perryton area for 50 years before moving to Sacramento in 1996. She was active in the Red Cross and was a nurse's aide during World War II. She was a member of the Church of Christ and the Order of the Eastern Star. She was a homemaker and avid supporter of Cal Farley's Boys Ranch. She married John Wesley Brown in 1922 at Arnett, Okla. He died in 1972. Survivors include two sons, Don Brown and Dale Brown, both of Sacramento; a sister, Jake Smith of Pampa; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Llano Cemetery at Amarillo by Foskey-Lilley-McGill Funeral Home. Mrs. Millsap was born in Fort Supply, Okla. She graduated from Amarillo High School in 1936. She moved from Amarillo to Dimmitt in 1952. She retired as ward clerk from Plains Memorial Hospital. She was a member of the Fourth and Bedford Church of Christ. She married Claude Millsap in 1938 at Amarillo. He died in 1977. Survivors include a daughter, Valeria Davis of Dimmitt; a sister, Geraldine Coy of Louisville, Ky.; a grandson; and a great-granddaughter. Amarillo Daily News, Nov. 8, 2000 Oscar B. Luman SHAMROCK - Oscar B. Luman, 84, died Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2000. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Jack Lee, pastor, and his grandson, Derek Holmes, officiating. Burial will be in Mayfield Cemetery at Mayfield, Okla., by Wright Funeral Directors. Mr. Luman was born in Erick, Okla. He graduated in 1935 from Erick High School, where he was wrestling state champion in 1934. He attended Weatherford College. In 1958, he moved to Shamrock, where he operated a Mobil service station. He was a Boy Scout leader and a Sunday school teacher. He was a member of the Lion's Club in Erick and the First Baptist Church in Shamrock. Mr. Luman married Lena Whipkey in 1938 at Erick. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Kathryn Holmes of Amarillo; a sister, Velma Snoe of Arvada, Colo.; a grandson; and a great-grandson. The family suggests memorials be to First Baptist Church building fund.
