Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. today in Resthaven Cemetery with the Rev. Jess Little of Sunset Heights Baptist Church in Odessa officiating. Arrangements are by Myers-Long Funeral Directors. Mr. Auston was born in Red River County and was a longtime Quitaque resident. He worked for First National Bank for 40 years as a janitor. He married Betty Mae McKnight in 1940 at Memphis. Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Rosemary Perkins of Silverton, Jenifer Auston of Quitaque and Lola Mae Jouett of Amarillo; two sons, Paul Elbert Auston of Amarillo and Bobby Lee Auston of Quitaque; and a sister, Fronie of California. Amarillo Daily News, May 9, 2000 Lewis Willis Rogers WHEELER - Lewis Willis Rogers, 81, died Monday, May 8, 2000, in Elk City, Okla. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Church of Christ with Bill Morrison, minister, officiating. Burial will be in Wheeler Cemetery by Wright Funeral Home. Mr. Rogers was born in Shoshone, Idaho. He was a lifelong resident of Wheeler County and served in the Army during World War II. He was a farmer and rancher and was retired from the print shop at Ashland Chemical. He was a member of the Church of Christ and the American Legion. Mr. Rogers married Irene Lois Switzer in 1945 at Pampa. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Linda Hink of Kelton; a son, Frank Rogers of Round Rock; a brother, Wayne Rogers of Sudan; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Wheeler Cemetery Association. Amarillo Daily News, May 9, 2000 Howard Kelso BOVINA - Howard Kelso, 94, died Sunday, May 7, 2000. Services will be at 2 p.m. today at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Steve Venable officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Terrace at Farwell by Ellis-Blackwell Funeral Home in Friona. Mr. Kelso was born in Jones County and moved to the Bovina area in 1949 from Canyon. Before working at Sherley grain elevator he was a farmer. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Bovina Senior Citizens, and a former member of the Bovina Roping Club. He married Minnie Gollihugh in 1938 at Vigo Park. His daughter, Julia Langford, died in 1973. He was also preceded in death by four grandchildren. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Ferman Kelso of Clovis, N.M., and Tally Kelso of Llano; a sister, Leta Walker of Tulia; twin brother, Hugh Kelso of Amarillo; seven grandchildren; and 13 greatgrandchildren. Clinton Young, minister of the First Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Price-Jackson Funeral Home. Mrs. Mitchell was born in Navarro County. She was a longtime resident of Hardeman County and graduated from Goodlett High School. She was a homemaker and member of the Goodlett Baptist Church. She married William Alexander Mitchell Sr. in 1924 at Goodlett. He died in 1949. She also was preceded in death by a son, William Alexander Mitchell Jr., in 1985. Survivors include a daughter, Dorothy Nell Watson of Quanah; two grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Quanah First Baptist Church. Amarillo Daily News, May 9, 2000 Amarillo Sally O. King Sally O. King, 81, formerly of Amarillo, died Friday, May 5, 2000. Services were Monday in Caudle-Rutledge Funeral Home Chapel at Lindale with Bill Fisher officiating. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Llano Cemetery. Mrs. King was born in Oakhurst. She lived in Amarillo until moving to Hide-aWay Lake near Lindale in 1987. She was a licensed vocational nurse and a homemaker. She was a member of Hide-a-Way Lake Community Church and the Hide-aWay Lake Women's Golf Association. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick John King Jr., in 1991. Survivors include a son, Fred King III of Emory; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Georgia St. Mr. Fraser was born in Cushing, Iowa. During World War II he served in the Army as a lieutenant colonel. He was a retired electrical supply salesman. He married Mary Bernice Werner in 1936 at Council Bluffs, Iowa. She died in 1999. Survivors include a son, Thomas D. Fraser of Amarillo; and two grandchildren. Osage St. Mr. Wimsatt was born in Amarillo and graduated from Palo Duro High School in 1982. He worked at Herzfeld Beauty and Barber Supply and Great Western Directories. He was a scorekeeper for Amarillo Parks and Recreation Department softball and a member of Country Church. Survivors include a sister, Lynette Bolton of Midland; and his grandmother, Oma Penn of Amarillo. The family suggests memorials be to a favorite charity. He served in the Army and was an antique trader. Farrow CLOVIS, N.M. - Fayebell T. Farrow, 81, formerly of Clovis, died Saturday, May 6, 2000. Services will be at 10 a.m. today in Kingswood United Methodist Church with Dr. Mark Scott officiating. Burial will be in Mission Garden of Memories by SteedTodd Funeral Home. Mrs. Farrow was born in Clovis. She had been a longtime Belen resident before returning to Clovis. She was a homemaker. She worked at First National Bank in the 1940s and was secretary-treasurer at First Federal Savings and Loan for 28 years. She was a past president and district officer of the Pilot Club. She coordinated the Clovis Meals on Wheels program. She was a charter member of Kingswood United Methodist Church. She recently moved to Albuquerque, where she attended Central United Methodist Church. Mrs. Farrow was preceded in death by her husband, George Alva Farrow. Survivors include a son, Dick Farrow of Belen; a daughter, Frances Boldt of Albuquerque; a sister, Clela Crawford of Bullhead City, Ariz.; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one greatgreat-grandchild. Amarillo Daily News, May 9, 2000 Oklahoma Dora Opal McPherson ARDMORE, Okla. - Dora Opal "Sam" Warren McPherson, 69, died Sunday, May 7, 2000. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel of Shawnee with the Rev. Leslie Long officiating. Burial will be at Blackburn Chapel Cemetery. Mrs. McPherson was born in Hydro. She was raised in Dodson, Texas and attended Draughon's Business College at Amarillo. She lived in Midwest City more than 10 years, then in Shawnee for eight years before she moved to Ardmore two years ago. She was a bookkeeper and a member of Freewill Baptist Church. She married T.C. "Mac" McPherson at Fort Worth, Texas. He preceded her in death. Survivors include a daughter, Susan Redwine of Shawnee; a son Doug Monkres of Carrollton, Texas; four brothers, Elbert Warren and Denver Warren, both of Amarillo, Gerald Warren of Cassville, Mo., and Fred Warren of Oklahoma City; a sister, Ann Warren of Clinton; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
