A homemaker, she attended North Amarillo Church of Christ and North Seminole Church of Christ. She married Joe A. McGuire in 1936. He died in 1986. Burial will follow in Llano Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle. Mrs. Van Bibber was born in Skedee, Okla., and moved to Amarillo in 1944. She worked as a PBX operator for Lone Star Gas and was a member of First Christian Church. Her husband, Pat Van Bibber, died in 1944. She was also preceded in death by two daughters, Joann Robb and Janette Cauley. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Ivy Chapel at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle, with the Rev. Raymond Bowlin, retired Baptist minister, officiating. Private burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mr. King was born in Monterrey, Tenn., grew up in Cookeville, Tenn., and graduated from school in Akron, Ohio. In 1937, he moved to Amarillo, where he worked as a general contractor and land developer, building homes in the Amarillo area, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Colorado. He developed King's Acres. He sponsored a number of Kids, Inc., teams, which went to state competition. He was active with Cal Farley's Boys Ranch. During World War II, he served with the Coast Guard. His son, David Earl Massey, died in 1983. His daughter, Gaylin Sue Wood, died in 1997. Survivors include his wife, Charlotte King; a daughter, Janet Cosper of Austin; a sister, Dorothy Roush of Amarillo; and six grandchildren. Amarillo Sunday News-Globe Dec. 10, 2000 Robert Dewey Brittain Dr. Robert Dewey Brittain, 74, of Amarillo, died Thursday, Dec. 7, 2000. Services were at 2 p.m. Saturday in St. Peter's Episcopal Church with the Rev. John Watson, rector, officiating. Burial was in Llano Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle. Dr. Brittain was born in Shreveport, La. He graduated from high school in Port Arthur. He was a flight engineer in the Air Force. He graduated from Lamar College in Beaumont and Baylor College of Medicine of Houston in 1952. He did his internship at the Veteran's Administration Hospital, Jeff Davis Hospital in Houston and earned his degree in neuropsychiatry at the University of Texas at Galveston while serving his residency. Dr. Brittain practiced general medicine for eight years in Beaumont, where he was instrumental in the building of St. Stephen's Episcopal School and served as senior warden of the church vestry. He began practicing psychiatry in Amarillo since 1965 and had served on the staff at Northwest Texas Hospital, St. Anthony's Hospital and High Plains Baptist Hospital. Dr. Brittain was a member of the Texas Medical Association, the American Psychiatric Association, the Potter-Randall County Medical Society and the Central Neuropsychiatric Association. He was past president of Northwest Texas Hospital medical staff. He was a member and served on the vestry of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church. He was preceded in death by a son, Dr. Robert Dewey Brittain III, in 1991. Survivors include his wife, Nell Brittain; two sons, John Miller Brittain and Thomas Paige Brittain, both of Amarillo; two sisters, Mrs. Robert King of Austin and Mrs. Barbara Greer of Houston; and four grandchildren. He married Anne Deitiker in 1949 at Amarillo. He married Marguerite Sarah "Marge" Connell in 1931 at Clayton. He was preceded in death by his wife and two sons, John and James. Mr. Rogers was born in Wichita Falls, Texas, and graduated from Wichita Falls High School in 1938. He served with the Texas National Guard 2nd Battalion, 131st Field Artillery, 2nd Brigade, Battery D in Wichita Falls, which after being mobilized, was captured by the Japanese and held prisoner until 1945. He moved to Clovis in 1946 and began an accounting career. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Masonic Lodge No. 40 AF&AM and the Scottish Rite and Shrine. He also was a member of the Wildcat Booster Club, the Noonday Lions Club, the American Legion Post No. 25, the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Lost Battalion Association. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Lorenzo Cemetery with the Rev. Gary Boles officiating. Arrangements are by Adams Funeral Home. Mr. Eason was born in Lamar County. He graduated from Brookston High School in 1928. In 1932 he moved to Crosby County and farmed near Lorenzo. He moved to Monahans in 1939 and operated a dry cleaning business. He was a member of the Monahans city council, was the mayor and had served as Ward County Democratic Chairman. He was past president of the Lions Club and a century club member of the West Texas Rehabilitation Center. In 1961 he was appointed to the Farmer's Home Administration County Committee. Mr. Eason married Gertrude Childers in 1938 at Lorenzo. She died in 1973. Survivors include a son, Jan C. Eason of Atlanta; and two grandchildren. Visitation will be from noon until 1:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
