He was preceded in death by his wife, Jessie Manross, in 1992. Terry Cosby officiating. Burial will be in Rest Lawn Memorial Park. Mr. Burns was born in Douglas, Ariz. After graduation from high school, he enlisted in the Navy during World War II. He served in the Asia and Pacific theaters. Mr. Burns was a member of the American Legion in Deming, N.M. In 1983, he moved to Hereford. He retired as manager of the Adams Ranch in Dawn. He married Nancy Carpenter in 1976. Mrs. Stephens was born in Matador and was a longtime Turkey resident. She was a member of the First Baptist Church. She married Herbert "Shine" Stephens in 1940 at Silverton. He died in 1978. He moved to Cuba in October. He married Linda Nunez in 1985 at Farnsworth. Survivors include his wife; four sons, Rafael Jr., Armando, Alexander and Andrew Hernandez; his parents, Marin and Celestina Hernandez of Mexico; five brothers, Modesto Hernandez and Marin Hernandez, both of Perryton, Cayetano Hernandez of LaJara, N.M., and Isabel Hernandez and David Hernandez, both of Cuba; and a sister, Martina Ochoa of Mexico. Mr. D'Arcy was born in Palestine and had been a Borger resident for 42 years. A Marine fighter pilot in World War II, he served in the South Pacific. He was a lieutenant colonel when he left the reserves. Mr. D'Arcy graduated from Southern Methodist University with a degree in mechanical engineering. He retired from Phillips, having worked at the Palins Plant and Philtex. He was a member of St. John's Catholic Church. He had previously lived in Bartlesville, Okla., for six years and in Venzuela for two years. He married Betty Archibald in 1943 at Los Angeles. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Robert D'Arcy of Bakersfield, Calif., and Mark D'Arcy of Amarillo and Borger; a daughter, Cindy Tice of The Woodlands; a brother, Royce D'Arcy of Fort Worth; a sister, Evelyn Cushman of Hurst; six grandchildren; and a great-grandson. Mrs. Jackson was born in Farmersville and attended schools in Roseland. She graduated from Lockney High School then attended West Texas State College. In 1919, she moved to Floyd County from Collin County and moved to Floydada in 1976. A retired homemaker, Mrs. Jackson taught school in the Center Community in the late 1930s. She was a member of Floydada Senior Citizens, Eastern Star and First Baptist Church. She married E.M. "Son" Jackson in 1940 at Clovis, N.M. Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Judy Beedy of Floydada and Lynn Dunn of San Angelo; four grandsons; and seven grandchildren. He married Dorothy Cash in 1933 at Canyon. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Carolyn Dodgen, in 1952. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Donald Louis Dodgen of Phoenix and R. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Read was born in Willow, Okla. During World War II, he served with the Army in northern France, the Rhineland, the Ardennes and Central Europe. He moved to Amarillo in 1945. He was a well tender for a petroleum company. He was a member of the Silver Streak camping club and Wheels-A-GoGo camping club. Mr. Read married Koby in 1945 at San Antonio. She died in 1988. Georgia St. Mr. Leard was born in Lindale. He was the owner/manager of rental property in Amarillo and was the manager for Shook Tire Co. He also was the former owner of Memory Frame, a craft business. Mr. Leard was a longtime member of San Jacinto United Methodist Church and the Ambassador Sunday school class. He was a league bowler and past president of Mended Hearts. He married Dorothy Cain in 1946. She died in 1998. Mrs. Fisher was born in Wauneta, Neb. She lived in Van Nuys, Calif., until moving to Wayside in 1934 where she and her husband farmed. She retired from the Neblett Hospital in Canyon. Mrs. Fisher moved to Canyon in 1972. She attended Faith Community Church. She married Lemuel S. Fisher in 1924 at Van Nuys. He died in 1986. Survivors include three sons, Oren L. Arrangements are by Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Oklahoma City. Mrs. Davis was born in Roosevelt and lived in Oklahoma City in her early years. In 1948, she moved to Amarillo where she was a charter member and president of the Amarillo Art League. She also was president of Amarillo League of Women Voters and a member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority. Her first marriage was to John Nathan Braziel who died in 1940. She married Emmett Davis in 1948. She was preceded in death by him; three children AlVerne Blakley, Nathan Lynn Braziel and Marvin Ramey Braziel; and two stepsons, Jerry B. Davis and Dale Emmett Davis. Survivors include her sister, LaVonne Brown of Encinitas, Calif.; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
