Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in the Church of Christ with Richard Kasko, minister of Fritch Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery at Pampa by Minton / Chatwell Funeral Directors. Mr. Bonner was born in Okmulgee, Okla. During World War II, he served as staff sergeant for the Army Air Corps. He had lived in Borger for 34 years, moving from Pampa. He retired as store manager from Bovaird Supply Co. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Borger. He married Maxine "Mickey" Little in 1942 at Pampa. Survivors include his wife; a son, Keith Bonner of Lubbock; two daughters, Judy Eppison of Pampa and Shirley Branch of Amarillo; a brother, Roy Lee Bonner of Houston; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. PAMPA - Frances Louise Brown, 73, died Thursday, Sept. 7, 2000. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Fairview Cemetery with the Rev. J.C. Burt, pastor of Barrett Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mrs. Brown was born in Batesville, Ark., and had lived in Pampa since 1941. She was a member of Hobart Baptist Church. She married Laurence F. Brown in 1942 at San Francisco. He died in 1983. Survivors include a son, L. Dale Brown of Hughes Springs; two daughters, Norma Joyce Trice of Daingerfield and Alice L. Stark of Pampa; a brother, Jessie Smartt of Pampa; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to the American Heart Association. SEDONA, Ariz. - Thelma Maurine Chandler, 86, died Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2000. Services will be private. Arrangements are by Westcott Funeral Home of Cottonwood. Mrs. Chandler was born in Wellington, Colo. She had lived in Boulder, Colo.; Denver; Arvada, Colo.; El Paso, Texas; San Juan, Puerto Rico; Los Angeles; and Santa Rosa, Calif. She had worked as a model and was an artist. She married John T. Chandler in 1932 at Longmont, Colo. Survivors include her husband; a son, the Rev. John Richard Chandler of Amarillo; a daughter, Janette Davis of Cottonwood; two brother, Vanford Young of Longmont and John Young of Aurora, Colo.; five grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. PORTALES, N.M. - Bill Eaton, 76, died Friday, Sept. 8, 2000. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Wheeler Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. Joe Riley, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Portales Cemetery. Mr. Eaton was born in Oklahoma and grew up in the Dale, Okla., area. After serving with the Navy during World War II, he moved to Amarillo, where he worked for Pioneer Natural Gas Co. He later lived in Los Alamos before moving to Portales in 1969. In Portales, he worked for the Santa Fe Railroad as an electrician until his retirement. He was also a utility contractor and ran a back hoe service. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. His daughter, Viccii Bogey, preceded him in death. He married Wilma Sparks in 1944 at McLoud, Okla. Survivors include his wife; a son, Lance Eaton of Clovis; a sister, Betty Rice of Amarillo, Texas; and three grandchildren. John L. Gabel, 72, of Amarillo, died Friday, Sept. 8, 2000. Rosary will be at 7 p.m. today in St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 4100 S. Coulter, with Monsignor Joseph Tash reciting. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Monday in St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church with Monsignor Joseph Tash as celebrant. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mr. Gabel was born in St. Francis. He was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church. He worked for Asarco. His daughter, Joan Gabel, died in 1955. His son, Keith Gabel, died in 1973. He married Marion Engelbrecht in 1948 at Amarillo. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Marcia Liekhus of Amarillo; six sons, Gary Gabel, Dennis Gabel, Ken Gabel, Kevin Gabel, Mike Gabel, and Mark Gabel, all of Amarillo; five sisters, Viola Wagner of Hereford, Dorothy Pivarunis and Betty Dudek, both of Amarillo, Evelyn Risner of Joshua, and Leona Sexton of Albuquerque, N.M.; two brothers, Don Gabel of Happy and Dick Gabel of Amarillo; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to BSA Hospice, P.O. Box 950, Amarillo, TX 79176. Joan Isch, 62, formerly of Amarillo, died Friday, Sept. 8, 2000. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Reydon Community Center in Reydon, Okla., with the Rev. Alberta Helton officiating. Amarillo services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Paramount Terrace Christian Church, 4000 Mays, with the Rev. Scott Greer officiating. Entombment will be in Memorial Park Mausoleum by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mrs. Isch attended school in Arnett, Okla., and graduated from West Texas State University at Canyon. She taught elementary school for the River Road School District in Amarillo. After retiring, she worked as a substitute teacher. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi and Paramount Terrace Christian Church. Four years ago, she moved to Reydon. She was active in the development of the Senior Citizens program, where she served as a volunteer. Survivors include her husband, Lester E. Isch; a daughter, Pennye Fitch of Amarillo; two sons, Wesley W. Isch of Kittery, Maine, and D. Scott Isch of Amarillo; two brothers, Jim Truitt of Malakoff and Gary W. Truitt of Flower Mound; and seven grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials be to Ashlie Fitch Medical Account at First American Bank, 4302 W. 45th, Amarillo, TX 79109. DIMMITT - Kenneth Jackson, 73, died Friday, Sept. 8, 2000, in Lubbock. Services will be at 3 p.m. today in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Rusty Dickerson, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Castro Memorial Gardens by Foskey-Lilley-McGill Funeral Home. Mr. Jackson was born in Dickens County. He moved to Dimmitt, where he attended schools. After joining the Navy in 1945 and serving for two years, he returned to Dimmitt and attended West Texas State University. A farmer, he owned and operated Kenneth Jackson Ditching Service. He retired in the mid 1980s. He married Ruth Sheffy in 1950 at Clovis, N.M. Survivors include his wife; a son, Richard Jackson of Dimmitt; two daughters, Nancy Fuller and Patti Cartwright, both of Dimmitt; and six grandchildren. A member of the Potter County Extension, she was the cafeteria manager at St. Laurence. She married Laurence B. Krobot in 1954. Survivors include her husband; five daughters, Liz McBride, Kathy Rush, and Molly Massey, all of Amarillo, Vicky Kendall of Wichita Falls, and Loretta Tupin of Fort Worth; two sons, Larry Krobot and Michael Krobot, both of Amarillo; two sisters, Beverly Post of Amarillo and Mary Ann Ricketts of Gurdon, Ark.; 14 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to BSA Hospice; or Don and Sybil Harrington Cancer Center. MULESHOE - Celia Martinez, 73, died Thursday, Sept. 7, 2000. Burial will be in Bailey County Cemetery. Mrs. Martinez was born in San Pedro, Coahuila, Mexico. In 1968, she moved to Muleshoe from Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. She was a homemaker and a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Muleshoe. She married Jose Martinez in 1940 at San Pedro, Coahuila, Mexico. He died in 1989. Survivors include three sons, Nacho Martinez of Muleshoe, Juan Martinez of Richmond, Va., and Pepe Martinez of Kerrville; six daughters, Concha Vasquez, Lupe Guzman, and Sylvia Guzman, all of Muleshoe, Maria Fuentes and Carmen Pacheco, both of Houston, and Lorenza Hernandez of Clovis, N.M.; 26 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Aubrey M. McGaughy, 80, of Amarillo, died Thursday, Sept. 7, 2000. Arrangements are by Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 Bell St. Mr. McGaughy was born in Dublin and graduated from high school in Spur in 1938. After serving with the Army Air Corps during World War II, he moved to Amarillo in 1946. He worked for Mead's Bakery and retired as a contractor from A-1 Electric in 1981. He was a member of the American Bowling Congress Association and Southwest Church of Christ. He married S. Una V. Young in 1948 at Tucumcari, N.M. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Karan Susalle Barron of Amarillo; a brother, Robert S. McGaughy of Amarillo; and a sister, Reba Dot Dane of Lubbock. TUCUMCARI, N.M. - Helen Henry Merrill, 88, died Thursday, Sept. 7, 2000, in Clovis. Services will be at 11 a.m. today in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Bob Miller, minister of South Georgia Street Baptist Church in Amarillo, and the Rev. Joe Murray, minister of First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Tucumcari Memorial Park Cemetery by Dunn Funeral Home. Mrs. Merrill was born in Anson, Texas. A resident of Tucumcari, she was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Davie G. Henry Sr., in 1973. Survivors include two daughters, Nancy Jaynes of Tucumcari and Helen B. Holt of Duncan, Okla.; a son, Davie G. Henry Jr. of Truth or Consequences; three sisters, Merele Brooks of Kerrville, Texas, Anette Jones of Beggs, Okla., and Jo Patterson of Royal City, Wash.; nine grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. today at the funeral home. SPEARMAN - Zola Mitchell, 75, formerly of Spearman, died Thursday, Sept. 7, 2000, in Waco. Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday in Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home Chapel in Waco with Jim Martin, minister, officiating. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Holt Cemetery at Spearman with Mr. Leonard Harper officiating. Mrs. Mitchell was born in Spearman and graduated from Spearman High School. She was a member of Crestview Church of Christ. Survivors include her husband, J.D. Mitchell; two daughters, Jan Plemons of Fort Worth and Nancy Blue of Searcy, Ark.; five brothers, Daniel Sheets, Branch Sheets, S.B. Sheets, and Claude Sheets, all of Spearman, and Willis Sheets of Round Rock; two sisters, Grace Harmond of Wharton and Francis Cudd of Spearman; and five grandchildren. PERRYTON - Cecile Cardwell Parvin died Friday, Sept. 8, 2000. Memorial services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Steve Ulrey and the Rev. Dr. Jeff Knighton officiating. Cremation will be by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Perryton. Mrs. Parvin was born in Dallas and moved to the area in 1959 from McLean. After graduating from West Texas State University with a degree in elementary education, she taught elementary school in Amarillo, McLean, and Perryton. A lifetime member of the Texas State Teacher's Association, she was a charter member of the Panhandle Crisis Center and served on the board until 1999. She was also a member of Perryton Retired Teacher's Association. She married Dale Parvin in 1951. Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Jennifer Parvin of Dallas and Marti Newton of Oklahoma City; a sister, Jeanne Simmons of Visalia, Calif.; a grandchild; and two great-grandchildren. The body will not be available for viewing. CLOVIS, N.M. - Esther D. Shiplet, 94, died Friday, Sept. 8, 2000. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in The Chapel, 1500 Thornton, with the Rev. Joseph Vest officiating. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Laurel Land Cemetery in Fort Worth, Texas, with the Rev. Al Meridith of Wedgewood Baptist Church officiating. Arrangements are by Muffley Funeral Home. Mrs. Shiplet was born in Louisville, Ky., and moved to the Clovis area in 1978. She worked for Portales Steam Laundry and was a member of Central Baptist Church. She married Finch Shiplet in 1927 in Blanchard, Okla. He died in 1978. Her son, Leon F. Shiplet, died in 1995. Survivors include three daughters, Mildred Jacks of Fort Worth, Marilyn Mize of Lubbock, Texas, and Evelyn Clark of Clovis; a sister, Idella Cartwright of Fayetteville, Ark.; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. DUMAS - Gertrude Shipman, 94, died Thursday, Sept. 7, 2000. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. today in the Dumas Cemetery with the Rev. Roger Orr, minister of missions at First Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Morrison Funeral Directors. Mrs. Shipman was born in Vinson, Okla., and had lived in Dumas since 1975. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Shipman, in 1974. Survivors include a brother, Dan Minor of Amarillo. Ray F. Crawford Sr., 72, of Amarillo, died Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2000. Private services were held at Memory Gardens. Arrangements were by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors, Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street. Mr. Crawford was born in Amarillo. A Mason, he served with the Texas National Guard. He worked at the Amarillo Air Force Base and retired from Pantex. He married Gloria G. Kundert in 1963 at Clayton, N.M. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Jon Crawford of Wichita, Kan., Ray F. Crawford of Texas, and Paul L. Crawford of California; two daughters, Georgia Anderson of Utah and Kelly Maheau of California; two stepsons, Joel Long and Robert Long, both of Amarillo; a stepdaughter, Jolene Langley of California; a brother, Jim W. Crawford of Amarillo; two sisters, Ena Sanford of Amarillo and Bea Perry of Adrian; 13 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
