Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Brown was born in Kleburg and was valedictorian of her graduating class at Mesquite High School. She moved to Amarillo in 1952 from Dallas. She worked as a secretary for Amarillo College West Campus. She was a member of Southeast Baptist Church. She married Clarence Brown in 1934 at Kleburg. He died in 1987. Survivors include a daughter, Marilyn Jones of Amarillo; a son, Art Brown of Carrollton; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. A fireman at Asarco, he also was a member of the Asarci 25-year club. He was a Methodist and member of the Western Cowboys Association. He married Wilma Cox in 1933 at Clayton, N.M. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1992 and by a daughter, Frances Risdon, in 1990. Survivors include four nieces, Thelma Cox of Amarillo, Nita Betts of Vega, Glenda Risdon of Dallas and Beth Ann of Phoenix; and two nephews, Berry Cox of Amarillo and Jimmy Cox of Cactus. Mr. Honeman was born in Iuka, Kan. He moved with his family to the Hooker area in 1916 where they farmed four miles southwest of Hooker. He attended Buffalo country school. Mr. Honeman was a farmer and also worked for Natural Gas Pipeline. He moved to Hooker in 1959. He worked as a custom harvester in Oklahoma, Colorado and Nebraska, retiring in 1980. Mr. Honeman was a member of First Christian Church, where he served as a deacon. He was a member of the Hooker Lions Club. He married Velda Berneise Chappelle in 1934 at Guymon. He was preceded in death by a son, Estal, in 1955. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Larry Honeman and Jim Honeman, both of Hooker; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Amarillo Daily News, Feb. 11, 2000 Kenneth W. Turner TYRONE, Okla. - Kenneth W. Turner, 65, died Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2000, in Liberal, Kan. Services will be at 10 a.m. today in the Church of Christ at Hooker with Neville Buchanan officiating. Burial will be in the Tyrone Cemetery by Roberts Brothers Funeral Home in Hooker. Mr. Turner was born in Rogers, Ark. He enlisted in the Marines and served during the Korean War. He moved to Adams, where he farmed with his father and brother. He later moved to Tyrone, where he worked as a mechanic. He also drove for Yellow Freight. He worked for KansasNebraska and for Phillips. He retired six years ago. Mr. Turner was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He also was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge. He fished in many bass tournaments and was a member of the Professional Military Bass Anglers Association. He was ranked sixth in Oklahoma and 200th in the nation. He married Ruth Reist in 1983 at Tyrone. His first marriage was to LaDean Dotson in 1956 at California. Survivors include his wife; a son, Kenneth Turner Jr. of Tyrone; three daughters, Evelyn Keever of Bartlesville, Loretta Caldwell of Springfield, Mo., and Janett Bright of Tyrone; his parents, Harold and Alma Turner of Tyrone; a stepson, John Reist of Deerfield, Kan.; two stepdaughters, Karen Shoemaker of Joplin, Mo., and Sharon Howard of Deerfield; a brother, Bill Turner of Washington; six grandchildren; 10 step-grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Parker was born near Altus, Okla., and lived in the Altus and Eldorado area until moving to the Briscoe area in 1930. She wrote the Briscoe News for the Wheeler newspaper. She was a member of the Church of Christ. She married Zearl Coleman "Colie" Parker in 1932 at Briscoe. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1990; a son, Willie; and a daughter, Toline Clark.
