Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Pampa with the Rev. Jim Teeter, pastor of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Pampa, officiating. Arrangements are by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa. Mrs. McLaughlin was born in Deerfield, Mo., and was a Pampa and Lefors resident from 1927 until 1970. She lived in Hamlin for 10 years, in Midland for eight years and in San Augustine for one year. She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church. She married Tom McLaughlin in 1922 at Missouri. He died in 1970. Survivors include two sons, Don McLaughlin of Hemphill and Tommy McLaughlin of Midland; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and three greatgreat-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to a favorite charity. Amarillo Daily News, March 11, 2000 Rosa Ella Mae Bearden PAMPA - Rosa Ella Mae Bearden, 96, died Friday, March 10, 2000. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors Colonial Chapel with the Rev. Melvin Harris, pastor of the Priest Park Church of God, officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mrs. Bearden was born in Troop and had lived in Pampa since 1937. She was a charter member of the Priest Park Church of God where she taught Sunday School. Mrs. Bearden was a practical nurse. She was past president of the Texas-Oklahoma Singing Convention. She married Albert Bryan Bearden in 1920 at Troop. He died in 1961. Survivors include a son, Belton "B.B." Bearden of Pampa; four brothers, Gordon Richardson of Fritch, Thurman Richardson of Panhandle, Newton Richardson of Canyon and Tony Richardson of Lake Havasu City, Ariz.; two sisters, Dorothy Mansel of Amarillo and Juliette Newton of Okmulgee, Okla.; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. The family will be at 1529 Coffee in Pampa. Amarillo Daily News, March 11, 2000 Harilee Whitehead PAMPA - Harilee "Chief" Whitehead, 69, died Thursday, March 9, 2000. Services will be at 4 p.m. Monday in Highland Baptist Church with Paul Nachitgall, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa. Mr. Whitehead was born in Allen, Okla., and was a 1948 graduate of Wilson High School. During the Korean War, he served with the Army's 179th Tank Company, 45th Division. After the war, he worked for Floyd Nunley Drilling Co., and the U.S. Post Office. He graduated from Clarendon College with an associate's degree in electronics. In 1980, Mr. Whitehead moved to Eufaula, Okla., and opened B&H TV Service. He moved to Pampa and retired in 1991. He was a member of Highland Baptist Church. He married Betty J. Mitchell in 1976 at Pampa. Survivors include his wife; five sons, Rickey Whitehead of Alanreed, Phillip Whitehead of White Deer, Russell Whitehead of Pampa, Keith Mitchell of Anaheim, Calif., and Darrell Mitchell of Miami; two daughters, Sharon Newrider of Duncan, Okla., and Tracy Venson of Anaheim; 13 grandchildren; and four greatgrandchildren. Mrs. Turner was born in Lone Wolf, Okla., and had lived in Fritch since 1982. She was a Baptist and retired manager of Double Diamond Inc. She married Bluford Turner in 1942 at Amarillo. Survivors include her husband; a son, Wayne Turner of Amarillo; two daughters, Linda Garrett of Amarillo and Betty Kelley of Big Spring; a brother, Roy Frisbie of Amarillo; a sister, Edith Pair of Amarillo; 14 grandchildren; and 14 greatgrandchildren. Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday in First United Methodist Church in Shamrock with the Rev. Joe Jernigan and the Rev. John Dorn officiating. Burial will be in Shamrock Cemetery by Wright Funeral Directors of Shamrock. Mrs. Terry was born in Floydada. She married in Amarillo and later moved to Shamrock. She was a homemaker and worked for Jerry's Furniture. She married W.H. "Chubby" Terry in 1968. He died in 1992. Survivors include three sons, John Terry of Claude, David Mitchell of Amarillo and Bud Mitchell of Vidor; five daughters, Pete Vinyard, Renny Davis, and Terri Segura, all of Shamrock, Lynn Terry of Orange and Jackie Moore of Briscoe; a sister, Bobbie Cameron of Longview; her stepmother, Cebie Audry of Longview; 24 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. Ron Ellington, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Garden of Devotion in Westlawn Memorial Park by Minton / Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. Mr. Little was born in Vaughn, Ark., and had been a Borger resident since 1965. He previously had lived in Albuquerque, N.M. In 1972, he retired as an X-Ray technician for Golden Plains Community Hospital. Mr. Little was a Purple Heart veteran of the Army. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and was involved with the Opportunity Center. He married Gladys Little in 1945 at McKinney. She died in January. Survivors include two sons, Wally Little of Amarillo and Richard Little of Lamar, Ark.; a brother, Jack Little of Bellingham, Mass.; grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Burial will be in Shamrock by Wright Funeral Directors. Mr. Buckingham was born in Wise County and moved to Wheeler County in 1923, residing in the Twitty community. He was a member of the Church of Christ and a member of the Texas Cattle Raisers Association. He married Julia Ellerbee in 1938 at Sayre, Okla. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Billy Buckingham of Wheeler and Bob Buckingham of Twitty; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Griggs & Sons Funeral Directors, 2615 Paramount Blvd. Mrs. Simmons was born and raised in Loraine. She moved to Amarillo in 1947. She earned a bachelor's degree at McMurry University in Abilene and a master's degree from West Texas State University. In 1995, Mrs. Simmons retired as an English teacher and counselor at Sam Houston Middle School. She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church. She married William B. "Al" Simmons in 1943 at Williams Field, Ariz. Survivors include her husband; a son, Chris Simmons of Amarillo; a daughter, Penny Benardino of Grapevine; and five grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to St. Paul United Methodist Church. The family will be at 1521 S. Virginia St. Amarillo Daily News, March 11, 2000 Lloyd Campbell Lloyd Campbell, 82, of Amarillo, died Wednesday, March 8, 2000. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Llano East Cemetery with the Rev. Windell Taylor, chaplain of the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, officiating and military rites by Disabled American Veterans Ch. 26. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle. Mr. Campbell was born in Boyd and raised in Memphis, graduating in 1937 from Memphis High School. During World War II, he served with the Army in the European theater. In 1952, Mr. Campbell moved to Amarillo where he was a real estate agent for the Hugo Loewenstern Co., until his retirement. He was a Baptist and a member of the Disabled American Veterans and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Survivors include his wife, Marjo Collier Campbell; a godson, Roy Dean Andrews Jr. of Amarillo; nieces and nephews. Griggs & Sons Funeral Directors, 2615 Paramount Blvd. Mrs. Lyle was born and raised in Amarillo. In 1968, she married C.E. Lyle at San Antonio. He died in 1981. Survivors include a daughter, Gale Horton of Concord, N.H.; three sons, Chuck Duffy Jr. of Harrah, Okla., Mark Duffy of Lubbock and John Duffy of Amarillo; two brothers, Kenneth Lanham of Amarillo and Elmo Shelton of Albuquerque, N.M.; two sisters, Nell Gragg of Albuquerque and Maxine Adams of Amarillo; and seven grandchildren. Amarillo Daily News, March 11, 2000 Canyon Mrs. Bailie McCormick Mrs. Bailie (Donabel) McCormick, 89, of Canyon, died Friday, March 10, 2000. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in University Church of Christ with David Lough officiating. Burial will be in Dreamland Cemetery by Brooks Funeral Directors. Mrs. McCormick was born in Knickerbocker and graduated from Rankin High School. She attended Sul Ross University and West Texas State College then taught school in Rankin. A homemaker and longtime Canyon resident, Mrs. McCormick also farmed and ranched. She was a member of the University Church of Christ, Daughters of Republic of Texas and a past member of the Home Demonstration Club. She married Bailie McCormick in 1931 at Rankin. He died in 1974. Survivors include a son, Dr. Jack McCormick of Wichita, Kan.; a daughter, Nancy Williams of Tahoka; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. The family will meet friends from 3 until 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
