Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Trinity Fellowship Church with Phil Mercado, associate pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Rector Funeral Home, 2800 S. Osage St. Mr. Ewing was born in Amarillo and attended Randall High School. In 1998, he moved to Plano and was a sophomore honor student at Collin Creek Community College. He worked at Pappadeaux Seafood Restaurant in Richardson. He was a member of Trinity Fellowship Church in Amarillo and Grace Outreach in Plano. Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Shelly and Wayne Campbell of Plano; his father and stepmother, Gary and Yvonne Ewing of Amarillo; three sisters, Demetria Crisp of Amarillo, and Miranda Campbell and Shae Campbell, both of Plano; four brothers, Joshua Johnson, David Veldhuls, Ryan Veldhuls, and Trace Ewing, all of Amarillo; grandparents, Don and Pat Ewing and Sylvia and Dwayne Wynia, all of Amarillo, and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Aguilar of Harlingen. The family will be at 3305 Edenburg and 7814 Simpson. The body will not be available for viewing. The family suggests memorials be to Grace Outreach, 3301 Preston, Plano, TX 75093. GRUVER - Brenda Soto Burkhart, 19, died Friday, Sept. 8, 2000. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Iglesia Cristo Redentor with the Rev. Scott Raef officiating. Burial will be in Hansford Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Spearman. Mrs. Burkhart was born in Post and had lived in Gruver for 16 years. A 2000 honor graduate of Gruver High School, she was a member of the National Honor Society and the Gruver High School Band and Flag Corps. In Gruver, she had worked for schools and Allsup's. Her husband, Jeremy Jason Burkhart, also died Friday. Survivors include her parents, Victor and Helen Soto of Gruver; seven sisters, Sandra Gaspar of Gruver, Carol Sanchez and Sadie DeLaCruz, both of Morse, Linda Rosales of Lakin, Kan., Sara Skidmore of Higbee, Mo., Tillie Duran of Post, and Antonia Banarama of Cactus; two brothers, Ricky Soto of Purcell, Okla., and Tony Soto of Post; and her grandmother, Ysabel Soto of Post. HEREFORD - Nora Jeane Geffken, 79, formerly of Hereford, died Saturday, Sept. 9, 2000, in Amarillo. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Rose Chapel of Gililland-Watson Funeral Home with Spencer and Denise Barrett of Las Cruces, N.M., officiating. Burial will be in West Park Cemetery. Mrs. Geffken was born in Hereford. She worked as a loan processor for Farmer's Home Administration and was a member of First Christian Church. She married J.R. "Jack" Geffken in 1943 at Houston. He died in 1994. Survivors include a son, Jack Geffken of Amarillo; a daughter, Janyce Bonifield of Fort Worth; two brothers, L.B. Russell of Hereford and Daniel Russell of Albuquerque, N.M.; a sister, Mary Ruth Barrett of Hobbs, N.M.; and three grandchildren. The family will be at 212 Douglas in Hereford and suggests memorials be to BSA Hospice; or the American Cancer Society. QUANAH - Betty Jo Terrell, 74, died Saturday, Sept. 9, 2000. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Church of Christ with Mr. Jack Westbrook, minister, officiating. Burial will be in Quanah Memorial Park by Price-Jackson Funeral Home. Mrs. Terrell was born in Brookston and moved to Quanah in 1947 from Houston. A retired bookkeeper for Marvin Wells Construction Co., she was a member of the Church of Christ. She married Andrew Jackson Terrell Jr. in 1947 at Houston. He died in 1999. Survivors include a son, David Terrell of Edmond, Okla.; a sister, Monnie Downs of Powderly; two brothers, Wayne Farmer and Marshall Farmer, both of Paris; and three grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to the Quanah Church of Christ. MEMPHIS - O.D. Matthews Sr., 77, died Thursday, Sept. 7, 2000, in Amarillo. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in First Baptist Church at Memphis with the Rev. Grover Neal, pastor of St. John's Baptist Church in Amarillo, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery at Memphis by Warford-Walker Mortuary Inc., 509 N. Hughes St., in Amarillo. Mr. Matthews Sr. was born in Hillsboro and had lived in Memphis. A Baptist, he retired after working as a farmer for Robert Moss. He was preceded in death by three children; two sons, Roger Paul Matthews and Charles Edward Matthews; and a daughter, Dorothy Patricia Matthews. Survivors include his wife, Clara Matthews; two sons, O.D. Matthews Jr., of Amarillo and Henry Otis Newsome of Compton, Calif.; nine daughters, Jeanetta Fields of Amarillo, Myrtle Mae Jenkins, Marie Georage, Jerry Lee Rogers, and Erma Jean Brailey, all of Memphis, Linda Pearl Devorce and Oneta Mason, both of Amarillo; Tommie Ruth Proby of Pampa and Carol Anne Spearman of Hope, Ark.; and a brother, Ervie Matthews of Dallas. FRITCH - Cleo Myers, 86, died Saturday, Sept. 9, 2000. Services will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday in Fritch Church of Christ with Richard Kasko officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery by Brown Funeral Directors of Borger. Mr. Myers was born in Hill County and had lived in Fritch for 59 years. He retired as an operator with Phillips Petroleum Co., and was a member of Fritch Church of Christ. He married Ruby Zonelle Henry in 1937. Survivors include his wife; a son, Mike Myers of Littleton, Colo.; a sister, OneyMoore of Mineral Wells; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. The family suggests, in lieu of flowers, memorials be to Lubbock Christian University, College of Biblical Studies. BORGER - Wilbert D. Kelley, 55, died Saturday, Sept. 9, 2000. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in United Pentecostal Church with Pastor Ray St. Clair officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Cemetery in Stinnett by Mintonƒ/ƒChatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. Mr. Kelley was born in Higgins and moved to Borger in 1969 from Mangum, Okla. He had worked as a truck driver for Groendyke Trucking and was a member of Harvest Time Pentecostal Church of God. He married Melba Blackwell in 1962 at Higgins. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Arlen Kelley and Richard Kelley, both of Borger, and Gary Kelley of Stinnett; a brother, John Theisen of Durant, Okla.; a sister, Marlyn Carosella of Denver; and eight grandchildren. HIGGINS - Verna Maude "Bernie" Nichols, 103, died Sunday, Sept. 10, 2000. Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Hillcrest Cemetery in McLean with the Rev. Jene Greer of Amarillo and the Rev. Jerry Don Cheshire, pastor of First United Methodist Church in Higgins, officiating. Arrangements are by Stickley-Hill Funeral Directors of Canadian. Mrs. Nichols was born in Lincoln County, Okla., and graduated from Prague High School in Prague, Okla. She later attended Business School in Shawnee, Okla. Before moving to Higgins in 1982, she lived in McLean, Mobeetie, Colorado, and Pampa. She was a homemaker and a member of First Presbyterian Church in McLean. She married Vester Smith in 1916 at Okemah, Okla. He died in 1940. She married Walter Nichols in 1945 at Oklahoma City. He died in 1982. Her daughter, Nerine Boaz, died in 1968. Survivors include a son, Vester Smith of Higgins; a sister, Alta Woodrome of Honea Path, S.C.; four grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren. Viewing will be from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials be to Hemphill County Hospice, 1020 S. Fourth St., Canadian, TX 79014; or Abraham Memorial Home, 803 Birch, Canadian, TX 79014. SPEARMAN - T. Ray Robertson, 73, died Sunday, Sept. 10, 2000. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Brian Foster officiating. Burial will be in Hansford Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home in Spearman. Mr. Robertson was born in Strong City, Okla. After working for the post office in Spearman, he retired as Postmaster in 1989. He was a member of First Baptist Church. He married Sylvia Martin in 1947 at Spearman. She died this year. Survivors include a son, Danny Ray Robertson of Midland; a daughter, Brenda Annen of Nazareth; a brother, Lowell Robertson of Perryton; a sister, Pearl Sparks of Stinnett; six grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. The family suggests memorials be to Hansford County Historical Commission, 30 S. Townsend, Spearman, TX 79081. LUBBOCK - Fred Danielsen, 59, died Saturday, Sept. 9, 2000. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today in Resthaven Memorial Park with the Rev. Dan Boyd officiating. Memorial services will follow at 11:30 a.m. in Lakeridge United Methodist Church. Arrangements are by Resthaven Funeral Home. Mr. Danielsen was born in El Cajon, Calif. Before moving to Lubbock in 1983, he lived in Amarillo for 20 years. A member of Lakeridge United Methodist Church, he worked for Lever Brothers and later owned and operated Fred's Delivery Service. He married Fran Bailey in 1988 at Lubbock. Survivors include his wife; a son, Frank Danielsen of Amarillo; a daughter, Heide Dawson of Lubbock; a stepson, Keith Call of Red Oak; two stepdaughters, Donna Vargas of Hobbs, N.M., Jamie McDaniel of Tulsa, Okla.; two sisters, Helen Massie of San Diego, Diane Jerome of Oakland, Calif.; a brother, John Danielsen of Gerber, Calif.; 15 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. The family suggests memorials be to the American Cancer Society; or Hospice of Lubbock. DEL RIO - Marian Larson Morris, 78, died Friday, Sept. 8, 2000. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Del Rio Memorial Park with the Rev. Marvin Wood officiating. Arrangements are by G.W. Cox Memorial Funeral Home. Mrs. Morris was born in St. Paul, Minn., and had lived in Vacaville, Calif., before moving to Del Rio. She was a veteran of the Marine Corps. Survivors include her husband, Royce M. Morris; a daughter, Linda Huber of Vacaville; two sons, Wayne Larson of Waterford, Conn., and Donald Larson of Vacaville; two stepsons, Ernest C. Morris of Pampa and Royce W. Morris of Amarillo; a stepdaughter, Rebecca King of Spring Branch; a sister, Dorothy Sprinkles of Petaluma, Calif.; and two grandchildren. Viewing will be from noon until 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Box 1285, Del Rio, TX 78841-1285. FORT WORTH - Bonnie Spearman, 89, died Thursday, Sept. 7, 2000. Services will be at noon Tuesday in Richland Hills Church of Christ. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Park by Shannon Funeral Chapel. Mrs. Spearman was born in Ardmore, Okla. Formerly a resident of Amarillo, she was a member of Central Church of Christ, where she taught children. She was former president and a charter member of the TED Club, and a former president and member of the Amarillo Federation of Women's Club and the Antique Gulletanea Club. She was also a member of the Kiwanis Club. Survivors include her son, Glyn Spearman; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
