Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Chapel of Hope Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Leon Green officiating. Burial will follow with military rites by the Veteran's Honor Guard at Prairie Haven Cemetery. Mr. Morgan was born in Thalia, Texas, and received a purple heart in the Army during World War II. Before working for the Acme Cigarette Company, he farmed at Sudan and Olton, Texas, and worked for Thompson Implement Company. In 1978, he began working as head custodian at Sanger and Heizer Junior High Schools. He retired in 1987. He was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and a member of the Disabled American Veterans and Church of Christ. He married Seretha Morgan in 1946 at Memphis, Texas. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Dickie Morgan and Ronnie Morgan, both of Hobbs, and Carroll Morgan of Carlsbad; four sisters, Viola Castle of Dimmitt, Texas, Vada Haskins of Levelland, Texas, Veta Tims of Clarendon, Texas, and Jewel Simmons of Deming; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Sandia Baptist Church with Dr. Herbert Bergstrom officiating and Dr. James Burke assisting. Burial will be in Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens by Steed-Todd Funeral Home. Mr. Elliott was born in Vaughn. After graduating from House High School at House in 1952, he worked in his father's automotive and welding shop. In 1958, he received a degree in industrial arts from Eastern New Mexico University in Portales. He retired in 1999 from Excel in Friona, Texas. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of House and attended Sandia Baptist Church of Clovis. Survivors include his mother, Annie Elliott of Clovis; a brother, Bruce Elliott of Cedar Hill, Texas; and a sister, Shirley Burch of Sandia Park. He married Shirley Bailey in 1959 at Fort Sumner. Amarillo Sunday News-Globe March 12, 2000 Elsewhere Gladys Buchanan Ball SUN CITY, Ariz. - Gladys Buchanan Ball, 94, died Saturday, Feb. 26, 2000. Arrangements were by the National Cremation Society in Phoenix. Mrs. Ball was born in Tasco, Tenn. She received her bachelor of science degree from West Texas State College at Canyon, Texas, and a master's degree in elementary education from Colorado State College in Greeley, Colo. She taught art in elementary schools in Texas, including Wolflin Elementary School in Amarillo. After her marriage to Richard Ball in 1950 at Kalamazoo, Mich., they moved to Greeley, where she taught fifth grade at both Arlington and Jackson Elementary Schools. After retirement, she moved to Sun City. She was a member of Delta Phi Delta, Delta Kappa Gamma, the Colorado Education Association and the National Education Association. She is survived by her husband. Memorials may be sent for scholarships in the visual arts to the University of Northern Colorado Foundation, University of Northern Colorado, Greeley, CO 80639; or to a favorite charity. Mr. Kuehler was born in Groom and received a bachelor's of science degree in chemical engineering from Texas Tech University and a master's degree in chemical engineering from the University of Tennessee. He began working for Humble Oil and Refining Company in Baytown in 1940 and retired from Exxon Chemical Company as manager of the Analysis Division in New York City in 1971. He moved to Austin from Stamford, Conn. He was a member of St. Theresa's Catholic Church, the Kiwanis Club, and the American Society of Professional Engineers. He was treasurer at the Exxon Annuitant Club. He married Marie Bernauer in 1935. She died in 1963. He married Wanda Thompson Underhill in 1966. Survivors include his wife; a son, Gerald Paul Kuehler of Baton Rouge, La.; two daughters, Mary Kathleen Gray of Longmeadow, Ma., and Paula Marie Kuehler of Houston; a stepson, Tim Underhill of Stockdale; a sister, Loraine Dearing of Muleshoe; two brothers, Albin "Shady" of Amarillo and Robert "Breeze" of Groom; and 10 grandchildren. She married Kenneth Leonard Britt in 1935. He preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by a son, Joe Kay; and a granddaughter, Kimberly Britt Eoff. Survivors include a daughter, Judy Goerner of Baytown; a son, Jim Britt of Austin; a sister, Mary Lockwood Bachelor of Sun City, Ariz.; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Mrs. McCormick was born in Knickerbocker and graduated from Rankin High School. She attended Sul Ross University and West Texas State College then taught school in Rankin. A homemaker and longtime Canyon resident, Mrs. McCormick also farmed and ranched. She was a member of the University Church of Christ, Daughters of Republic of Texas and a past member of the Home Demonstration Club. She married Bailie McCormick in 1931 at Rankin. He died in 1974. Survivors include a son, Dr. Jack McCormick of Wichita, Kan.; a daughter, Nancy Williams of Tahoka; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Arrangements are by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa. Mrs. McLaughlin was born in Deerfield, Mo., and was a Pampa and Lefors resident from 1927 until 1970. She lived in Hamlin for 10 years, in Midland for eight years and in San Augustine for one year. She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church. She married Tom McLaughlin in 1922 at Missouri. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mrs. Bearden was born in Troup and had lived in Pampa since 1937. She was a charter member of the Priest Park Church of God where she taught Sunday School. Mrs. Bearden was a homemaker and a practical nurse. She was past president of the Texas-Oklahoma Singing Convention. She married Albert Bryan Bearden in 1920 at Troup. He died in 1961. Her daughter, Ruby Faye Bearden, died in 1929. Survivors include a son, Belton "B.B." Mr. Whitehead was born in Allen, Okla., and was a 1948 graduate of Wilson High School. During the Korean War, he served with the Army's 179th Tank Company, 45th Division. After the war, he worked for Floyd Nunley Drilling Co., and the U.S. Post Office. He graduated from Clarendon College with an associate's degree in electronics. In 1980, Mr. Whitehead moved to Eufaula, Okla., and opened B&H TV Service. He moved to Pampa and retired in 1991. He was a member of Highland Baptist Church. He married Betty J. Mitchell in 1976 at Pampa. He previously had lived in Albuquerque, N.M. In 1972, he retired as an X-Ray technician for Golden Plains Community Hospital. Mr. Little was a Purple Heart veteran of the Army. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and was involved with the Opportunity Center. He married Gladys Little in 1945 at McKinney. She died in January. Survivors include two sons, Wally Little of Amarillo and Richard Little of Lamar, Ark.; a brother, Jack Little of Bellingham, Mass.; grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. "Winfred" Buckingham, 92, died Friday, March 10, 2000. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Church of Christ in Shamrock with Cottie Tarbet and Chris Ragle, minister, officiating. Burial will be in Shamrock Cemetery by Wright Funeral Directors. Mr. Buckingham was born in Wise County and moved to Wheeler County in 1923, residing in the Twitty community. He was a member of the Church of Christ and a member of the Texas Cattle Raisers Association. He married Julia Ellerbee in 1938 at Sayre, Okla. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Billy Buckingham of Wheeler and Bob Buckingham of Twitty; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He served in the Civilian Conservation Core and graduated from Texas Tech University in 1949. He was active in nursing home ministry and was a member of First Baptist Church. He married Mayesie Mathews in 1952 at Bangs. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Barbara Ann Powell of Bangs and Karen Miller of Floydada; a brother, Ray Burke of Lubbock; two sisters, Lou Chesser and Helen Lesly, both of Lubbock; and seven grandchildren. Mrs. Scott was born in New Albany, Miss., and moved to Texas when she was a young child. She was a homemaker and a member of Primitive Baptist Church. She married H.V. "Pet" Scott in 1919 at Dallam County. He died in 1970. She was also preceded in death by four sons, Paul Scott, Horace Scott, Frank Scott, and Charles "Jug" Scott. Survivors include four sons, Francis Scott of Plainview, Bob Scott of Paducah, Billy Scott of Kennedale, and Tommy Scott of Lindale; four daughters, Pauline Love of Turlock, Calif., Sue Gibbs of Clovis, N.M., Helen King of Tucson, Ariz., and Brenda Simons of Artesia, N.M.; a sister, Opal Hawkins; 31 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Perryton High School Auditorium with the Rev. Michael Waterbury officiating. Burial will be in Ochiltree Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Perryton. Mr. Anderson was born in Amarillo and was a senior at Perryton High School. He was senior drum major, a member of the National Honor Society, and was listed in Who's Who Among American Students. He was also a member of Boy Scouts Troop No. 256 of the Golden Spread Council and became an eagle scout in 1999. In December 1999, he was rotary student of the month. He attended the University of Colorado Honors Institute of Engineering and won music awards in both concert and marching bands. He also placed on both the regional and state cross country teams. Survivors include his parents, Wes and Cindy Anderson of Perryton; two sisters, Aspen Anderson and Abby Anderson, both of Perryton; his grandparents, Lewis and June Anderson of Perryton, Charles and Linda Kimball of Bella Vista, Ark., and Loretta and George Smith of Amarillo; and great-grandmother, Sarah Voth of Hooker, Okla.
