Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Parkview Baptist Church with Don McFarland, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Childress Cemetery by Johnson Funeral Home. Mr. Weddel was born in Grapevine. During World War II he served in the Army in the Aleutian Islands and received three medals. After the war he farmed in Lakeview for a short time. He owned and operated City Garage in Memphis, later adding City Parts Supply. He retired in 1983. He was a member of Senior Citizens, Busy Beavers and the Memphis Trail Raiders Association. He helped construct an addition to and was a member of the Parkview Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Martha Hutto of Arlington; three sons, Orvil "Sport" Weddel of Amarillo, Rockey Weddel of Hurst and William Weddel of Vivian, La.; a sister, Avylee Nix of Amarillo; three brothers, Elmer Weddel of Arlington, Evett L. Weddel of Amarillo and Jay Weddel of Tulia; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. HEREFORD - Clyde V. Cave, 97, died Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2000. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today in West Park Cemetery with Michael Carr officiating. Arrangements are by Gililland-Watson Funeral Home. Mr. Cave was born in Crandall. He served in the Army during World War II. He moved to Deaf Smith County in 1953 from Plainview. He owned a variety store. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and the American Legion. He married Eula Lee Gilbreath in 1942 at Happy. She died Sept. 4. Survivors include special friends, Norman and Sheri Kerr of Hereford. The family suggests memorials be to Hereford Meals on Wheels Program. PANHANDLE - Roberta Atkins, 77, died Monday, Sept. 11, 2000, in Amarillo. Services will be at 3 p.m. today in First Baptist Church with Dr. Jim Perkins, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Panhandle Cemetery by Mintonƒ/ƒChatwell Funeral Directors. Mrs. Atkins was born in Ringling, Okla. She moved to Panhandle in 1958 from Borger. She was a homemaker and owner of Roberta's Beauty Shop. She was a member of First Baptist Church and Christian Builders Sunday school class. She was a past member of the Altrurian Club. She married Andrew J. Atkins in 1943 at Amarillo. Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Paula Pingelton and Reva Roselius, both of Panhandle; a brother, Duain Hogue of Bartlesville, Okla.; five sisters, Leoda Davis of Elgin, Ramona Blankenship of Marietta, Okla., Carra Sue Davis of Ardmore, Okla., Rebecca Atkins of Henrietta and Roxanna Cox of Marshall; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Cooper No. 131-288, Arlington, TX 76017. VEGA - Raymond Dennnis Fenimore, 55, died Monday, Sept. 11, 2000. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. James Peach, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Vega Funeral Home. Mr. Fenimore was born in Council Grove, Kan., and had lived in Vega since 1958. He served in the Navy during the Vietnam War, receiving the National Defense Service medal and the Vietnam medal. He served with the Vega Volunteer Fire Department and was an emergency medical technician for Vega Ambulance Service. From 1981-86 he was deputy of the Oldham County Sheriff's Department. He owned and operated Jay's Garage before opening D&F Trucking in 1992. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Vega. Survivors include his wife, Fern Fenimore; a daughter, Charity Fenimore of Lubbock; two stepdaughters, Robin Schiller of Greenville and Rhonda Reagan of Irving; his mother, Myrtle Fenimore of Amarillo; a sister, Mary Blow of Front Royal, Va.; and four grandchildren. MCLEAN - Irene Mae Ellison, 79, died Saturday, Sept. 9, 2000, in Houston. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Hillcrest Cemetery with the Rev. Thacker Haynes officiating. Arrangements are by Lamb Funeral Home. Mrs. Ellison was born in Floyd County. She lived in Mclean 30 years before moving to Houston seven years ago. She married James Gilbert Ellison in 1947 at Vernon. He preceded her in death. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Marsha. Survivors include three sons, James Douglas Ellison of Key Largo, Fla., Gary Don Ellison of Austin and Stephen Gil Ellison of Houston and seven grandchildren. OLTON - Pedro "Pete" Villanueva, 85, died Monday, Sept. 11, 2000. Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. today in St. Peters Catholic Church. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the church with the Rev. David Cruz officiating. Burial will be in Olton Cemetery by Foskey-Lilley-McGill Funeral Home. Mr. Villanueva was born in Mier Noriega, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. He was a barber for many years. He was a member of St. Peters Catholic Church, La Adoracion Nocturna, Socieda Sagrado Corazonde Jesus, El Santo Nombre Cursillista and the St. Peters choir. He married Guadalupe Castilleja in 1950 at Lubbock. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Joe Villanueva of Olton and Tony Villanueva of Amarillo; a daughter, Mary Lou Nava of Slaton; two brothers, Juan Castilleja of Monterey, Mexico and Amadeo Castilleja of Temple; 10 grandchildren; and two granddaughters. He graduated from Hedley High School in 1931. He lived in Amarillo 40 years. He retired from Exell Helium Plant after 24 years. He also worked for Pioneer Natural Gas. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and the Searcher Sunday school class. Survivors include his wife, Mabel Holland; a son, Gary V. Holland of Bartlesville, Okla.; a daughter, Janice G. Carter of San Antonio; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was a self-employed piano instructor. Survivors include a brother, Royce Conoley of Amarillo. DALHART - Joe Rumaldo Fuentes, 79, formerly of Dalhart, died Sunday, Sept. 10, 2000, in Dumas. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today in Hass Funeral Home Chapel. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. MDT Wednesday in St. Joseph Catholic Church at Mosquero, N.M., by the Rev. Guy Roberts. Burial will be in the Mosquero Cemetery. Mr. Fuetnes was born in Genova, N.M., near Gallegos, N.M. He moved to Dalhart in the 1950s and worked at the ice plant. He worked as a veterinarian's assistant at Dalhart Animal Hospital and then worked for Mr. and Mrs. Webb Whorton until 1961. He was living in Stratford at the time of his death. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Stratford and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. In 1985 he received the Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice Medal from Pope John Paul II. Survivors include a niece whom he raised, Viola Kautz of Stratford; a brother, Frank G. Fuentes; a sister, Mary Velasquez of Liberal, Kan.; three grandnieces and grandnephews; and six great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews. FLOYDADA - Amanda Olivia Hart, 92, died Saturday, Sept. 9, 2000, in Lubbock. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Moore-Rose-White Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Anthony Sisemore, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Floydada Cemetery. Mrs. Hart was born in Nocona. She graduated from high school in Flomot. She moved to Floydada 60 years ago from Fairview. She retired from teaching piano and voice. She was a member of Order of the Eastern Star and First Baptist Church. She married Paul L. "Faye" Hart in 1936 at Fairview. He died in 1989. Survivors include a son, David Hart of Shallowater; a sister, Ruby Rexrode of Sherman; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Back was born in Mclean. He served in the Pacific during World War II for the Army. He graduated from the University of Texas in 1949 with a bachelor of business administration degree. He retired as refinery supervisor from Diamond Shamrock. He moved to Amarillo in 1997 from Dumas. He was a member of Olsen Park Church of Christ. He married LaVaughn Hampton in 1970 at Dumas. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Debbie Pennington of Amarillo; a son, Lee Carter of Pampa; two sisters, Dorothea Goodwin of Mclean and Mary Ann Hale of Mesquite; and three grandchildren. He graduated from Childress High School and attended Texas Tech. He served in the Marine Corps during World War II. In 1947 he moved to Amarillo. He was a certified public accountant and a member of Westcliff Bible Church. He married Jeane Hardin in 1943 at Altus. Mrs. Holman was born in Vernon. She graduated from Magnolia A&M College at Magnolia, Ark. She earned a bachelor of science degree from West Texas State Teachers College and her masters in education from West Texas State College. She taught school in Dumas five years and for Amarillo Independent School District 18 years. She married Larry E. Holman in 1936 in Canyon. He died in 1981. They managed the La-Fran Apartments in Canyon. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, the Murray Bible Class and the Moss Richardson Bible study. She also was a member of the Crusaders Class and the Hill-Hare Circle, Sue Hite Study Club, Canyon Retired Teachers Association, Texas State Retired Teachers, Canyon Community and the Golden Spread Emmaus. Survivors include his daughter, Carol H. Gonzales of Amarillo; a son, Larry R. Holman of Austin; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. CLOVIS, N.M. - Margaret Dorothy Miller, 85, died Sunday, Sept. 10, 2000. Memorial graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today in Mission Garden of Memories with Dr. Thomas P. Jones officiating. Arrangements are by Steed-Todd Funeral Home. Miss Miller was born in Clovis. She worked for U.S. Sen. Dennis Chavez in Washington, D.C. She also was an executive secretary at Kirtland Air Force Base. She was a pianist and singer. She was a Baptist. Survivors include a sister, Celeste Burns of Holbrook, Ariz. CLOVIS, N.M. - Leona Marie Stokes, 52, died Friday, Sept. 8, 2000. No services are planned. Cremation has taken place and the U.S. Navy will conduct burial at sea. Local arrangements are by Steed-Todd Funeral Home. Miss Stokes was born in Garden City, Kan. She graduated from Hugoton High School at Hugoton, Kan., in 1966. She served in the Navy and then worked about 26 years in civil service. She was a computer specialist. She moved to Clovis in 1985. Survivors include her father, Adolphus "Dock" Stokes of Clovis; and a sister, Alecia Fischer of North Carolina. MANGUM, Okla. - Rachel Mae Jones, 95, died Monday, Sept. 11, 2000, in Altus. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Mangum Church of Christ with Eddie Beard and Roger Todd officiating. Burial will be in White Flat Cemetery by Greer Funeral Home. Miss Jones was born near McMinnville, Tenn. She graduated from high school in Clayton, N.M. During World War II she worked at the Douglas Defense Plant in Oklahoma City. She was secretary for White Flat Cemetery. She was a member of the Church of Christ and taught Sunday school for many years. Survivors include two brothers, L.D. Jones of Amarillo and Charles Jones of Albuquerque, N.M.; and a sister, Hazel Saxton of Leawood, Kan. OKLAHOMA CITY - Bobby Glen Hill, 70, died Sunday, Sept. 10, 2000. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Worldwide Church of God with Michael Rasmussen and Don Lawson, both of the church, officiating. Burial will be in Romulus Cemetery, Pottawatomie County by Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh. Mr. Hill was born in Carter. He was reared in Sayre and lived in California and Texas before moving to Oklahoma City in the 1960s. He worked for the Oklahoma County Highway Department for 19 years and retired in 1990 as an exempt foreman. He was a member of Worldwide Church of God. He married Christine Cobb in 1978 at Oklahoma City. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Larry Lynch and Ray Lynch, both of Northridge, Calif., and Steve Lovelady of Amarillo; two daughters, Marlene Goodman of Oklahoma City and Donna Morgan of Canyon, Texas; two brothers, Darrell Hill of Stinnett, Texas and Ferrell Hill of Amarillo; a sister Patricia Kestler of Amarillo; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The body will be available for viewing starting at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the church. BOISE CITY, Okla. - William Joe Henley, 91, died Monday, Sept. 11, 2000. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in First Baptist Church with Archie Cooper, Frank Lynch and Johnny Henley officiating. Burial will be in Kenton Cemetery at Kenton by Cimarron Mortuary. Mr. Henley was born near Moses, N.M. and raised in Kenton. He worked on several ranches including the George Wiggins and Meredith Hughes ranches. He was a bricklayer and block layer and co-owned with his sons a business in Boise City. He was a member of New Life Pentecostal Holiness Church. He married Rosie Aragon in 1931 at Boise City. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Gene Henley of Elkhart, Kan., and Buddy Henley of Albuquerque, N.M.; three daughters, Cecilia Capansky of Norman, Okla., Sara Henley of Albuquerque and Rose Ottinger of Boise City; 10 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
