Arrangements are by Steed-Todd Funeral Home. Mrs. Crouse had managed local movie theaters for more than 30 years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Melrose Cemetery at Melrose. Mr. Dodson was born in McAlister and grew up in the McAlister and Melrose area. He moved to Clovis in 1941 from Melrose. He moved to Portales in 1987. He retired as a foreman after many years with the New Mexico State Highway Department. He was a member of First Baptist Church. He married Ila L. Blair in 1937. She died in 1990. He also was preceded in death by a daughter, Florence Wilson. Survivors include two daughters, Vivian Haverland of Portales and Gwen Upton of Montezuma; a sister, Mae Runyan of McAlister; seven grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Holmberg, 74, died Wednesday, April 12, 2000, in Amarillo. Services will be at 1 p.m. today in Brooks Chapel with Dale Travis, minister of Family Life Fellowship, officiating. Private burial by Brooks Funeral Directors of Canyon. Mr. Holmberg was born in Colorado Springs, Colo. He served during World War II aboard the USS Henry T. Allen. He had hauled feed and grains for the family business. He had lived in Albuquerque, N.M., since 1958, where he worked for Brown Construction Co. as a bookkeeper and road superintendent. He had worked as the purchasing agent for New Mexico State Highway Department and mine manager and representative for Crist and Plateau Mining and Equipment before he retired in the late 1980s. He married Betty Lee Dennis of Olney Springs, Colo., in 1949. Survivors include his wife; a son, Dennis M. Holmberg of Hobbs, N.M.; a daughter, Nancee J. Mrs. Parkhill was a retired seamstress and had worked for Estes' House of Fashion. She attended First Baptist Church in Canadian. She was preceded in death by two husbands, Oscar Parrott and David Parkhill. Survivors include a son, Robert L. Burial will be in the Simpson Cemetery at Eastland County by Higginbotham Funeral Home. Mrs. Clearman was born in Leakey. She married J.C. Clearman in 1937 at Abilene. She and her husband farmed in the Lamesa area until 1952, when they moved to Summerfield. In 1968, they retired to Gorman to ranch and raise registered Limousin cattle. Mrs. Clearman was a member of the Kokomo Home Club and other women's clubs. She was a member of the Kokomo Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1990. Survivors include two sons, Jamie Clearman of Lawn and Kenneth Clearman of Arlington; three daughters, Dianne Walser of Hereford, Nanetta Thompson of Plainview and Mary Joe Leonard of Canadian; a sister, Edna Sudduth of Winters; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Fowler PLAINVIEW - Dr. James Turton Fowler, 88, died Saturday, April 8, 2000. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in First Christian Church with the Rev. Dean McNamara, interim pastor, officiating. Arrangements are by WoodDunning Funeral Home. Dr. Fowler was born in Fontana, Kan. He attended school in Fontana and Osawatomie, where he graduated. He attended the University of Kansas and Kansas University Medical Center and went into private medical practice with his father in Osawatomie. He served in the Army during World War II. He retired from the Veterans Affairs Hospital in El Paso. He moved to Plainview in 1995. He served on the Miami County election board and was a member of the Rotary Club and First Christian Church. He was an artist, photographer and woodworker. Dr. Fowler married Barbara Davey in 1976 at Osawatomie. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Martha Mundis of Kansas City, Mo., and Margaret Johnson of Plano; a son, Joseph Fowler of Osawatomie; two sisters, Eleanor Stephens and Maxine Swan, both of Carmichael, Calif.; and four grandchildren. Mr. Maddox was born in Miami, Texas. He served in the Navy during World War II. He moved to Pampa in 1954. He was a longtime Gray County farmer and rancher and worked with the Gray County Extension Service. He served on the Gray-Roberts Farm Bureau board and was a longtime member of the GrandviewHopkins Independent School District board. He was a member of First Christian Church and served on the board of Lamar Christian Church. Mr. Maddox married Bernice Jackson in 1945 at Shelton, Wash. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Sharon Conrad of Cleburne; a son, Stephen B. Maddox of San Antonio; a brother, Wayne Maddox of Miami; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
