Long Donna F. Long, 53, of Amarillo, died Sunday, Aug. 13, 2000. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Llano Cemetery with the Rev. Robert Field, pastor of Southeast Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by N.S. Griggs & Sons Funeral Directors, 2615 Paramount Blvd. Mrs. Long was born in Amarillo and was a lifetime resident. She had worked in housekeeping at Amarillo College since 1983. She married Bobby Long in 1964 at Amarillo. He died in 1993. Survivors include two daughters, Raylene Long and Donna Worth, both of Amarillo; a son, David Long of Amarillo; her parents, Robert and Florence Morgan of Amarillo; four sisters, Marlene Van Buren, Marie Hart, Joyce McCallops, and Lynette Book, all of Amarillo; a brother, Wayne Morgan of Clovis, N.M.; and six grandchildren. The family will be at 301 S. Maryland St. and suggests memorials be to Baptist St. Anthony's Hospice and Life Enrichment Center. Amarillo Daily News Aug. 14, 2000 Marjorie June Pedersen Marjorie June Pedersen, 79, former Amarillo resident, of Canyon, died Sunday, Aug. 13, 2000. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, Ivy Chapel, 2820 Virginia Circle. Burial will be Thursday in Ellsworth, Iowa. Mrs. Pedersen was born in Ellsworth. Before moving to Canyon three months ago, she lived in Amarillo for 10 years. A Lutheran, she worked as a secretary and was a member of the American Contract Bridge League. She married Norman C. Pedersen in 1945 at Santa Anna, Calif. He died in 1987. Survivors include three sons, Mark Pedersen and Jerrold Pedersen, both of Canyon, and Ronald Pedersen of Amarillo; five sisters, Quvie Miller of Jewell, Iowa, Clarice Oakland of Story City, Iowa, Lucille Cloud of Marshal Town, Iowa, Alice Wilson of Hesperia, Calif., and Ethel Plasch of Ventura, Calif; and three grandchildren. Amarillo Daily News Aug. 14, 2000 Haskell Holdaway Haskell "Hack" Holdaway, 75, of Amarillo, died Friday, Aug. 11, 2000. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors, Memorial Chapel, 315 E. Fifth Ave., with the Rev. Ron Mueller of Palo Duro Baptist Church in Wildorado, and the Rev. Richard Dickerson of Temple Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Holdaway was born in Brinkman, Okla., and had lived in Amarillo since 1948. He was the owner and operator of Air Speed Gas Station and a member of Sanborn Baptist Church. During World War II, he served with the Army in the South Pacific as a Quarter Master. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Roger "David" Holdaway of Long Beach, Calif., and Mike Holdaway of Amarillo; a daughter, Debi Moore of Amarillo; a sister, Charlotte Roberts of Amarillo; three grandchildren; and a greatgrandchild. Amarillo Daily News Aug. 14, 2000 Sammy Denney Sammy Denney, 74, of Amarillo, died Sunday, Aug. 13, 2000. Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Willow Cemetery at Willow, Okla. Arrangements are by Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 Bell St. Mr. Denney was born in Willow. He was a member of Bell Avenue Church of Christ. During World War II, he served with the Navy on the USS Tazewell. He married Lorene Stowe in 1943 at Cheyenne, Okla. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Sammy Jo Frasier of Amarillo; two sons, Bobby G. Denney of Fort Worth and Randy K. Denney of Gunter; nine grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Amarillo Daily News Aug. 14, 2000 New Mexico Charlie Sanchez CLOVIS, N.M. - Charlie Sanchez, 81, died Saturday, Aug. 12, 2000. Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Community. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Community with Father Sotero Sena as celebrant. Burial will be in Mission Garden of Memories by Muffley Funeral Home. Mr. Sanchez was born in Santa Rosa. After marrying Nellie Narvaez in 1945 at Amarillo, Texas, they moved to Albuquerque and then to Clovis in 1952. He worked at Cannon Air Force Base in Civil Service. In 1965, he transferred to the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colo., where he worked until his retirement in 1972. In 1972, he returned to Clovis, where he owned a jewelry shop and The Rock Shop. He was a member of the Rock Hounds Club, V.F.W., Post No. 25, and the D.A.V., where he was past Vice Commander. Survivors include his wife; a son, Jimmy Sanchez of Alexandria, La.; two daughters, Mary Booher of Mesa, Ariz., and Juanita Silva of El Paso, Texas; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Amarillo Daily News Aug. 14, 2000 Oklahoma Carole Jean Lang MANGUM, Okla. - Carole Jean Lang, 60, died Friday, Aug. 11, 2000, in Altus. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Borger, Texas, with the Rev. Leonard Forsythe officiating. Arrangements are by Greer Funeral Home of Mangum. Mrs. Lang was born in Amarillo, Texas, and grew up in Fritch, Texas. She moved from Borger to Mangum eight years ago. She was a Methodist. She was preceded in death by her son, Timmy Brown; and her stepson, O.C. Robinson. She was a member of the Methodist Church. Survivors include a son, Larry Brown of Borger; two daughters, Jamie Blanton of Waco, Texas, and Suzanne Fletcher of Granite; and 10 grandchildren. Amarillo Daily News Aug. 14, 2000 Donald Wesley Aaron DAVIS, Okla. - Donald Wesley Aaron, 55, died Saturday, Aug. 12, 2000. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Krien Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor James Densman and Pastor Max Alexander officiating. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery. Mr. Aaron was born and grew up in Shamrock, Texas. After receiving a bachelor's of science degree from West Texas State University in Canyon, he moved to Amarillo. He later received a master's degree in business administration from the University of Houston at Clear Lake City. In Houston, he worked as a sales representative for Rock Island and sold real estate. He was a Baptist and served with the National Guard. In 1998, he moved to Davis from Garr Corner. Survivors include a son, D.W. Aaron Jr. of Nevada; a daughter, Tiffany Dawn Aaron of Amarillo; and his mother, Mildred Brashears Aaron of Davis. Viewing will be from 8:30 a.m. until 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Amarillo Daily News Aug. 14, 2000 Kansas Ronald S. Fronk LIBERAL, Kan. - Ronald S. Fronk, 84, died Saturday, Aug. 12, 2000. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jerry Odle officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m. in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Balko, Okla. Arrangements are by Miller Mortuary in Liberal. Mr. Fronk was born in No Man's Land, Okla., attended Valley View School, and graduated from Beaver High School in 1933. He attended Southwestern College at Winfield. He owned and operated a filing station in Forgan, Okla. He was the Mobil Bulk Agent and later the Phillips 66 Bulk Agent in Turpin, Okla. He managed the Eason Oil Station in Tyrone, Okla., drove a truck for Bridge Brothers, and retired in 1983. In 1955, he moved to Liberal, where he was a member of First United Methodist Church. He was a charter member of the I00F Lodge in Floris, Okla. He married Margaret B. Williams in 1955 at Raton, N.M. Survivors include his wife; two sons, LeRoy Fronk of Cypress, Texas, and David Fronk of Seoul, South Korea; a daughter, Rhonda Fronk of Duncan, Okla.; a sister, Hazel Simpson of Booker, Texas; two grandchildren; and a greatgrandchild. Viewing will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday at the mortuary. The family suggests memorials be to First United Methodist Church in care of the mortuary. Mrs. Austin was born in Foreman, Ark., and was a longtime resident of Amarillo, Texas. She owned and operated gift shops until retiring in Arizona in 1991. Survivors include a son, Phillip Miller of Amarillo; two brothers, Travis Dale Carver and William Dewey Carver Jr., both of Amarillo; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Haney, 81, died Saturday, Aug. 12, 2000, in Amarillo. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Fairview Cemetery with Mr. Tom Posey officiating. Arrangements are by Memphis Funeral Home. Mr. Haney was born in Lamar County and had lived in Memphis for 11 years. He was a farmer and served with the Army during World War II. He married Jessie Juanita Nutt in 1945. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Alfred Lee Haney of Bonham and Billy Wayne Haney of Memphis; two brothers, Alfred Leon Haney of Hereford and Charley Wayne Haney of Plainview; two sisters, Lucille Joplin of Paris and Lena Pearl Tubbs of Granbury; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Mr. Kennedy was born in Everett, Mass., and graduated from Medford High at Medford, Mass. In 1945, he received a bachelor's of business administration from Northeastern University at Boston. In 1948, he moved to Pampa and worked for Cabot in the oil and gas division. He worked as an accountant for Ray Boswell Road Construction and later for Tom Rose Motors and Culberson-Stowers. He married Lucy Jean Turner in 1952 at Pampa. She died in 1989. Survivors include a daughter, Kathy Kennedy of Pampa. The family suggests memorials be to BSA Hospice, P.O. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. CDT Tuesday in First Baptist Church at Farwell with the Rev. Richard Laverty and the Rev. Gerald Bastin officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Terrace Memorial Cemetery at Farwell by SteedTodd Funeral Home in Clovis, N.M. Mrs. Geries was born and grew up in Clovis. After graduating from Farwell High School in 1960, she worked at Hughes True Value Hardware and later, at the Parmer County Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation office and at Lady Unique. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Farwell, where she served as the wedding hostess. Survivors include her husband, Don Geries; two sons, Randy Geries of Friona, and Stephen Geries of Yukon, Okla.; two daughters, Dondra Lonsdale of Yukon and Lisa Ard of Amarillo; stepfather, Duffy Sasser of Clovis; a sister, Nancye Gressett of Clovis; two stepbrothers, James Sasser of Amarillo and Tony Sasser of Stamford, Conn.; and nine grandchildren.
