Memorial services will be at noon Saturday in Llano Cemetery Mausoleum of Amarillo with Brent Ashby officiating. Arrangements are by Rio Rancho Funeral Home. Mr. Blanchard was born in Amarillo. He was an aerospace engineer for Aerospace Corp., retiring in 1992. He was a member of country and western dance clubs, including Hooked on Country Dance Association in Maryland and Dance Fiesta in New Mexico. Survivors include his children, Nick Blanchard of Michigan, Valri Swift, Lynne Morris and Vena Ellen Blanchard Workman, all of California; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a former wife, Billie Blanchard of Alaska. The family suggests memorials in lieu of flowers be to the American Cancer Society; or the American Heart Association. Amarillo Daily News, Dec. 14, 2000 Oklahoma Leona Boland GUYMON, Okla. - Leona Boland, 88, died Monday, Dec. 11, 2000. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Victory Memorial United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mike Chaffin, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Elmhurst Cemetery by Henson-Novak Funeral Directors. Mrs. Boland was born in Lipscomb County, Texas, and moved in a covered wagon to the Wolf Creek Ranch near Perryton, Texas. She attended country schools and Perryton High School. She married Key Christopher. They lived in Enid where she attended beauty school. She married Dr. Jim Boland and moved to Berlin, Germany, where he was a dentist for the Army. In 1947 she moved to Guymon, where she owned Leona's Beauty Shop, retiring in 1996. She was a member and Sunday school teacher at Victory Memorial United Methodist Church, a member of Sigma Phi Federated Club and the Rose Garden Club. She volunteered for Boy Scouts and Demolay. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Jo Veta Unruh; and two sons, Gary Boland and James Michael Boland. Survivors include a son, Valry Christopher of Guymon; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two greatgreat-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Victory Memorial United Methodist Church; or a favorite charity. Memorials will be accepted at the funeral home. Mr. Truesdale was born in Leadman, Mo., and had lived in Forgan for the past 22 years. He was a roofer and painter in the Forgan community. He married Debbie Ann Stevenson in 1972 at Perryton, Texas. Survivors include his wife; a son, Derick Truesdale of Forgan; a brother, Russell Truesdale of Waynoka; and three sisters, Katy Seachris of Forgan, Berniece Tedford of Dallas and Ann Seeger of Ringwood. Amarillo Daily News, Dec. 14, 2000 Clifford I. Hitchings BOISE CITY, Okla. - Clifford I. Hitchings, 88, died Monday, Dec. 11, 2000, in Stratford, Texas. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Marella Cemetery at Griggs with the Rev. Del Watkins officiating. Arrangements are by Cimarron Mortuary. Mr. Hitchings was born in Wellington, Kan. He attended school in Trinidad, Colo. In 1931 he moved to Cimarron County, where he was a farmer and rancher. He married Evelyn Warren in 1937 at Clayton, N.M. She died in 1993. He also was preceded in death by a daughter, Norma. Survivors include a son, Perry Hitchings of Texhoma; and three grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to the Marella Cemetery. Graveside services will be at noon Friday in Forest Park Cemetery (East) of League City with Rusty Griffin, pastor of Sealy Assembly Word and Worship Center, officiating. Mrs. Farley was born in Gruver. She started school in Phoenix and graduated from Amarillo High School in 1954. She married James Ray Farley in 1955. She worked in her husband's dental office as office manager and chair assistant. She was living in Round Rock at the time of her death. She was preceded in death by a son, Mark Farley, in 1980. Survivors include her husband; a son, Kevin Farley of Wallis; a daughter, Leeann Rendall of Leander; a brother, Donald Renner of Amarillo; a sister, June Flanagan of Mableton, Ga.; and five grandchildren. He was a Navy veteran. He moved from Amarillo to Odessa in 1951. He was a retired manager of Lone Star Co. He was a member of the Sixth and Jackson Church of Christ. He was a genealogist. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 Bell St. Mr. Stockstill was born in Branson, Mo. He worked in the shipyards of Bremerton, Wash., and Long Beach, Calif., during World War II. He was a brick mason and a member of the bricklayer union. Later he became a building contractor in Anchorage, Alaska. He traveled to Mexico on a mission trip and helped build churches. He returned to Amarillo from Anchorage in 1975. He was a member of the Baptist church. He married Edna Randolph in 1934 at Amarillo. Survivors include his wife; a son, Dale Stockstill of Amarillo; a daughter, Janis May of Green Valley, Ariz.; a brother, Wilbur Stockstill of Sacramento, Calif.; a sister, Leah Dell Randolph of Selah, Wash.; four grandchildren; and four greatgrandchildren. Mrs. Vaughan was born in Houston. She graduated from Amarillo High School in 1929 and earned her master's degree from West Texas State Teachers College of Canyon in 1935. She had lived in Dallas for the past 35 years. She taught Latin and French at Pampa High School. She taught French and Spanish at Thomas Jefferson High School, retiring in 1983. She sponsored a number of organizations and received many honors. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Dallas. Survivors include a sister-in-law, Inez Vaughan of Lubbock; and two nieces, Linda Vaughan Rowntree and Alice Ann Vaughan, both of Lubbock. Osage St. Mrs. Nelson was born in Paris. She graduated from Paris High School. In 1949 she moved to Amarillo. She was a hostess at China Inn Restaurant and retired in 1993. She was a homemaker and member of Grace Community Church. She married Donald E. Nelson in 1955 at Colorado Springs, Colo. He died in 1993. Survivors include a stepdaughter, Donna Beth Claypool of Clovis; three sons, Roger McGill of Lecompte, La., Gary McGill of Des Moines, Iowa, and Mike Nelson of Amarillo; a brother, Tom Little of Amarillo; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Strauss Atkinson, pastor emeritus of First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Dreamland Cemetery. Miss Hixson was born in Raton, N.M. She graduated in 1941 from West Texas Teachers College, where she earned a master's degree. She was a history teacher in Powell, Wyo., and taught in the Amarillo public school system. She was member of the honor society and Delta Kappa Gamma. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir. She was member of the Business Women's Professional class, and later the King's Daughters Sunday school class. She was Past Matron of the Order of Eastern Star Chapter No. 105. She won the smile contest at Integrated Health Services of Canyon, where she lived. Survivors include a sister, Dr. Beryl Hixson of Canyon. Arrangements are by Minton / Chatwell Funeral Directors. Mrs. Crupper was born in Alluwee, Okla. A former longtime Borger resident, she moved to Pampa four years ago. She was a homemaker and a member of Gateway Baptist Church in Borger. She taught Sunday school at Hale Baptist Church in Spring Creek. She was preceded in death by her husband, Orville "Turk" Crupper, in 1995. Survivors include six daughters, Phyllis Crupper and Linda Simmons, both of Pampa, Sherry Lane of Jericho, Betty Blair of Oklahoma City, Patsy Earnhart of Baton Rouge, La., and Vicky Truelock of Paducah; two sisters, Lucille Gillespie of Nowata, Okla., and Pauline Cease of Coffeyville, Kan.; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two great-greatgrandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Roye, in 1995; by a daughter, Letha Smith, in 1979; and by a son, Thomas Roye, in 1996. She was preceded in death by a son, Buddy George Parkhurst, in 1972. Survivors include her husband; a son, David W. Mrs. Bevel was born in Creek County, Okla., and had lived in Pampa since 1950. She worked in the Central Baptist Church and as a seamstress for Marie Foundations. She was a member of the Central Baptist Church, the Pampa Senior Citizens, the Amarillo Area Singles, and the Monday Night Swingers. She married Loran Clifford "L.C." Bevel in 1948 at Oilton, Okla. He died in 1987. Survivors include two daughters, Linda Kay Kopec of Powder Springs, Ga., and Janelle Joy Hagemann of Wichita Falls; a son, Thomas Dale Bevel of Grand Prairie; a sister, Gloria Hildreth of Millville, Calif.; and five grandchildren.
