Services will be at 10 a.m. today in BlackburnShaw Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street, with the Rev. Roy Almaroad of Mescalero Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mrs. Helton was born in Avery and moved to Amarillo about 35 years ago. She was a homemaker and member of Mescalero Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Buck Helton; and by a son, Randy Joe Helton. Survivors include a son, John Wayne Helton of Amarillo; two daughters, Joyse Hoskinson of Amarillo and Darlene Wallner-White, both of Amarillo; two sisters, Rhonda McKinley of Louisiana and Mary Ellen Jones of Fort Worth; a brother, D.W. Underwood of Venue; 13 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Mescalero Baptist Church. The family will be at 6110 Rockwell Road. Amarillo Daily News, June 14, 2000 Syble Bradford Syble Omega Terry Bradford, 90, formerly of Amarillo, died Saturday, June 10, 2000, in Oklahoma City. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in First Presbyterian Church with Dr. Jim Bankhead, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 Bell St. Mrs. Bradford was born in Richardson and lived in Amarillo more than 70 years. She married Milas Clyde Bradford in 1927 at Grapevine. They owned Bradford Auto Supply. She lived in Oklahoma City at the time of her death. She was active at First Presbyterian Church more than 70 years. She was a member of T.E.D. Club, Amarillo Federation of Women's Clubs, the 'Nuffs of Amarillo and the Susannah Bible Study in Oklahoma City. She was preceded in death by her husband; by a son, M.C. Bradford; and by a daughter, Dot Hudson. Survivors include a sister, Dora Ruth Clark of Austin; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials in lieu of flowers be to a favorite charity. Visitation will be from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. today at the funeral home. He raised chickens and rabbits. He was a member of St. Laurence Cathedral. He married Socorro Gonzalez in 1951 in Mexico. Survivors include his wife; nine daughters, Marina Lara, Ana Rivero, Alicia Lara, Socorro Ordaz and Maria G. Garza, all of Amarillo, Angelica Rivas of Tennessee, Sylvia Arrieta of Indiana, M. Consuelo Rodriguez of Monterrey, Mexico and Nena Feliciano of Roswell, N.M.; three sons, Jose Luis Hernandez and J. Ponciano Hernandez, both of Roswell and Jesus A. Hernandez of Amarillo; his mother, Juana Scott of Roswell; a sister, Consuelo Allen of Roswell; two brothers, Santos Hernandez of Monterrey and Quirino Hernandez of Juarez, Mexico; 41 grandchildren; and one great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Lewis Johnson officiating. The Cannon Air Force Base Honor Guard will render graveside honors. Arrangements are by Steed-Todd Funeral Home. Mr. Youngquist was born in Chicago and lived in Clovis 31 years. He retired at Cannon Air Force Base as a technical sergeant. He worked as a bartender at Colonial Park Country Club. He was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis Youngquist, in 1997. Survivors include four sons, Pete Clark of Colorado Springs, Parker Miles of Oklahoma and Wally Youngquist and Chuck Youngquist, both of Clovis; six daughters, Betty Stokes of Nacogdoches, Texas, Jenny Martinez, Helen Miles, Bernadine Cruz and Shirley Richardson, all of Clovis, and Eula Baca of Dallas; 22 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Ben Talley, minister of San Jon First Baptist Church, and Dr. Jesse Liles, minister of Silver City First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Tucumcari Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Shafer was born in Hereford, Texas, and had been a longtime resident of the San Jon area. She worked as a cook for the San Jon School System. She was a member of Golden Link Rebekah Lodge No. 17, Bethel Chapter No. 15 of the Order of the Eastern Star and First Baptist Church in San Jon. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Shafer, in 1961. Survivors include five daughters, Elizabeth Kelly of Yuma, Ariz., Margaret Collins of Tucumcari, Mary Sue Stone of San Jon and Patsy Tharp and LaVerne Tharp, both of Bryan, Texas; two sons, Wesley Shafer Jr. of Grady and Byron Shafer of Dalhart, Texas; two brothers, Ralph Thomas of Vega, Texas, and Sam Thomas of Tucumcari; three sisters, Emma Liles of Logan, Naomi Jobe of Adrian, Texas, and Susie Vinyard of Mesa, Ariz.; 21 grandchildren; 28 greatgrandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. He worked in the produce department of El Dorado Supermart at Santa Fe and was a Catholic. He married Lisa Garcia in 1998 at Clovis. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Stephen Sanchez of Clovis and Emilio Sanchez of Santa Fe; his parents, Archie and Edwina Sanchez, both of Clovis; a brother, Archie Sanchez Jr. of Clovis; and a sister Roberta Padilla of Clovis. Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Beaver First Christian Church with Roger Neff and Wayne Moore officiating. Burial will be in Pioneer Cemetery by Clark Funeral Service. Mr. Mayo was born in Claremore and was a lifetime resident of Beaver County. He graduated from Beaver High School and earned a bachelor's degree in science. He served in the military during the Korean War. He was a rancher. He served on the Forgan school board for 39 years and was a member and past president of the board of directors of the Oklahoma State School. He was a member of the Christian Church. He married Wilma June "Billie" Kunc in 1952 at Stillwater. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Stephen Mayo of Stillwater and Randy Mayo of Beaver; a daughter, Meredith LeMaster of Bartlesville; his mother, Nina Cvaniga Mayo of Oklahoma City; a sister, Margaret Smith of Dallas; and seven grandchildren. The family moved to California for a few years and then to Ordway, Colo., before settling in Guymon in 1942. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1971. She also was preceded in death by a son, Austin Morgan, in 1999. She was a member of Panhandle Bible Center. Survivors include a daughter, Sherli Morgan of Charlotte, N.C.; two sons, Fike Morgan of Bella Vista, Ark., and Starr Morgan of Guymon; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Amarillo Daily News, June 14, 2000 Nancy Bowser Miller PLAINVIEW - Nancy Elizabeth Glasgow Bowser Miller, 84, formerly of Plainview, died Sunday, June 11, 2000, in Lubbock. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. today in Kress Cemetery at Kress with the Rev. Charles Schmidt, retired minister from Westmont Christian Church in Lubbock, officiating. Arrangements are by Lemons Funeral Home in Plainview. Mrs. Miller was born in Pontiac, Mich. She married Perry Bowser in 1941 at Sault Sainte Marie, Mich. He died in 1977. She married Lloyd Miller in 1982 at Lubbock. He died in 1999. She taught at Halfway and at Ash Elementary School in Plainview. She also operated the Little Red Schoolhouse and assisted her late husband, Mr. Bowser, at KVOP Radio for many years. She was an artist, clothing designer and seamstress. She was a member of First Christian Church, AAUW and the Order of the Eastern Star in Plainview. She was a charter member of Kress Study Club. Survivors include a daughter, Diane Bowser Madison of Valley Center, Kan.; a son, David Bowser of Amarillo; two stepdaughters, Shirley Miller Thomas of Roswell, Ga., and Tooter Miller Gardner of Anderson, Mo.; three grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and one step great-granddaughter. Randy Bird officiating. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Liveoak Cemetery at Brady with the Rev. Gaylon Morris officiating. Mr. Sessions was born in McCulloch County and lived in Hereford since 1973. He was a retired rancher. He was a member of the Turtle Association, the Rodeo Cowboy Association and the American Quarter Horse Association. He married Connie Garza in 1973 at Friona. Survivors include his wife; four sons, Sammy Glenn Sessions of San Marcos, Calif., Kenneth Gerald Sessions of Las Vegas, Samuel Zane Sessions of Brady and Keith Sessions of Hereford; two daughters, Aurelia Williams of Brady and Dewanah Aylesworth of San Angelo; a sister, Marietta Martin of Abilene; 15 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Mr. Cleveland was born in Montague County and had lived in Borger since 1954. During World War II he served in the Army Air Corps. He retired as regional transportation supervisor from Phillips Petroleum Co. He was past president of Amarillo Traffic Club, a past member of many transportation organizations and past president and general chairman of S.W. Shippers' Advisory Board. He was a Baptist. He married Charlotte "Pat" McGrew in 1954 at Amarillo. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Charlotte Ann Elliston of Borger; and one grandchild.
