Mr. Gattis was born in Carnegie, Okla. He served in the Army during the Korean War. After 31 years he retired from Lone Star Brewing Co. He worked the past 11 years for Great Western Distributing. He was a member of Moose Lodge No. 1361, Elks Lodge, Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion. Mr. Gattis married Willena Ann "Lena" Massey in 1956 at Clovis, N.M. He served from 1939 until 1945. He married Marie Horn in 1959 at Clayton, N.M. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens of Billings, Mont. Mr. Burns was born in Sidney, Mont., and had lived in Amarillo 20 years. He was an operating engineer in road construction. He was a member of the Scottish Heritage Society and taught and played the bagpipes. An Army Air Corps veteran, Mr. Burns served as an engineer gunner in a B-17 during World War II. He was preceded in death by his wife, Clydine Burns, in 1998. Survivors include two sons, William Burns and Mark Burns, both of Amarillo; a daughter, Teri Jo Williams; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. The family will be at 1309 S. Taylor. Viewing will be until time of services today. Amarillo Daily News, Feb. 15, 2000 Oklahoma Lewis Carl Morgan GUYMON, Okla. - Lewis Carl Morgan, 80, died Saturday, Feb. 12, 2000, in Amarillo. Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. today in First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) with the Rev. Don Chase, pastor, officiating. Private burial was Monday in Elkhart Cemetery at Elkhart, Kan. Arrangements are by HensonNovak Funeral Directors. Mr. Morgan was born near Hooker. He attended Dade country school, Round Top and Elkhart High School, where he played football and was drum major. He graduated in 1941. During World War II he served in the Army Air Corps. His plane was shot down during a bombing mission over Germany and he was a prisoner of war for a year before being freed in May 1945. He earned the Purple Heart and two Bronze Stars. Mr. Morgan was a meat cutter for Ideal Food Stores and Big B in Guymon. He also served as state meat inspector and worked in the meat lab at Panhandle State University. He was a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge. He was a member of First Christian Church, the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Disabled American Veterans, the 8th Air Force, and the P.O.W. organization. Mr. Morgan married Phyllis Carter in 1945 at Ulysses, Kan. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Cathy Jo Parker. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Carla Morgan of Liberal, Kan.; a son, Max Morgan of Johnstown, Colo.; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Mrs. Redfearn was born in Buffalo and moved to Texas as a child where she graduated from Lazbuddie High School in 1955. She lived in Parmer County, Texas, until 1970, when she moved to Laverne. She settled in Fort Supply in 1971. She was a secretary for the credit union. She was an artist and a member of the Church of Christ. She married Jack Richard Redfearn in 1956 at Clovis, N.M. She was preceded in death by twin infant sons. He died in 1976. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Lem Pitts, in 1929. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. today in Duggan Avenue Church of Christ with Travis Allen of Englewood, Colo., and Van McCormick of Clovis, N.M., officiating. Burial will be in Littlefield Memorial Park by Hammons Funeral Home of Littlefield. Mr. McCormick was born in Afton. Until his retirement in 1972, he owned and operated McCormick Oil Co. In 1974 he and his brother established McCormick Trim Shop which they operated until the early 1990s. For 12 years Mr. McCormick served on the Littlefield City Council and was mayor pro-tem for several years. From 1953 until 1988 he served on the board of directors for Security State Bank of Littlefield. He was a member and an elder of Duggan Avenue Church of Christ. He married Olen Hukel in 1987 at Littlefield. His first marriage was to Willie Lourella Hukel in 1934 at Littlefield. She died in 1982. Survivors include his wife; a son, Sam McCormick of Montrose, Colo.; two daughters, Lanell Rodgers of Littlefield and Joyce McKinzie of Gallatin, Tenn.; a brother, Leonard McCormick of Muleshoe; 10 grandchildren; and 11 greatgrandchildren.
