Mrs. Barringer was born in Indiahoma, Okla., and had lived in Borger for 69 years. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, W.F. "Bill" Barringer, in 1992. Survivors include two sons, Bob Barringer of Borger and Otho Edward Young of Grand Junction, Colo.; two daughters, Darene Guthrie of Fritch and Pamala Low of Bartlesville, Okla.; one brother, Fred L. Young of Fritch; two sisters, Opal Nicholson of Borger and Maxine Brown of Wichita Falls; 10 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Dr. Fondren was born in Wink and was a lifetime resident of the Borger area. He graduated from Phillips High School in 1965 and earned his doctorate of dental surgery in 1972 at the University of Texas at Houston. He was a dentist and had owned Family Dentistry since 1983. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church. He married Karen Hagburg in 1991 at Borger. Burial will be in Northlawn Memorial Gardens by Morrison Funeral Directors. Mr. Trayler was born in Waka and was a lifetime resident of Moore County. During World War II, he served in the Army. He was an operator for Diamond Shamrock, retiring in 1986. He was a member of the First Assembly of God. He married Nina Hintergardt in 1946 at Dumas. She was a homemaker and a member of the San Jose Catholic Church. She married Pablo Peralez in 1970 at Hereford. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Senida Rodriguez, in 1987. Mrs. Brandon was born in Erath County. She had lived in Hardeman County since 1907. She was a homemaker and a farmer. She was member of the First United Methodist Church and was the church custodian. She also was a member of the Home Demonstration Club. She married Orval Eugene Brandon in 1926 at Quanah. He died in 1988. He was a member of the American Legion Post and the Lions Club in Webb City. He retired as Morton city park superintendent. He married Wanda Crutcher in 1950 at Medoc, Mo. She died in 1984. He also was preceded in death by a son, David L. Smith, in 1992. Survivors include a son, Tony A. She was a past resident of Amarillo and had lived in Kingman for the last several years. She married Alton R. Sullivan in 1947. He preceded her in death. She also was preceded in death by a son, Wesley Scott Sullivan. Survivors include four sons, Nolan Sullivan of Amarillo, Casey Sullivan and John Sullivan, both of Kingman and Dale Cope of Colorado; and three grandchildren. He was a member of the San Jacinto Assembly of God. He married Ribble Nichols in 1934 at Hollis, Okla. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Nancy Gillespie of Amarillo; a son, Tony Marsalis of Fort Worth; a brother, Kenneth Marsalis of Quanah; a sister, Mamie Ruth Rollins of Fort Smith, Ark.; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Mr. Blasdel was born in Groom and raised in Amarillo. He graduated from Amarillo High School in 1929, then went to work in the family oil and grain business. He attended Denison University at Granville, Ohio, graduating in 1934 with a major in economics and the honor Phi Beta Kappa. He returned to Amarillo to work at the family business. He specialized in real estate and provided venture capital for small businesses. Mr. Blasdel also was involved in cattle ranching, dairy farming, and motel operation and ownership. He retired in 1995. He was active in the YMCA, Chamber of Commerce Highway Committee, Panhandle Plains Historical Society, Panhandle Plains Royalty Owner's Association, Panhandle Geological Society and Rotary. He was past president of the Blasdel Family Association. Survivors include his wife, Janet; his children, Gene, Mike, Terry and Christopher; a brother, Jimmy; and a granddaughter. Amarillo Daily News, July 15, 2000 Gailen Campbell Powell BOISE CITY, Okla. - Gailen Campbell Powell, 82, died Thursday, July 13, 2000. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Felt Baptist Church with Billy Rammage officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Guymon Cemetery at Guymon. Arrangements are by Cimarron Mortuary. Mr. Powell was born and raised in Balko. He graduated from high school in Balko and was active on the community baseball team. He graduated from Northwestern State University at Alva. After college, he moved to Elkhart, Kan., where he owned and operated a filling station and bulk gas plant. During World War II, he served aboard the USS Dunlap as a pharmacist's mate for the Navy. After his discharge, he returned to Elkhart and continued his business. In 1950, he bought a farm near Felt, and three years later moved to Vilas, Colo., where he taught high school math and coached. He returned to Felt after one year and moved to Manter, Kan., in 1957, where he taught and coached for two years. He was a teacher, coach and farmer in Felt until his retirement. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Maitel Brown Powell, in 1983. He married Maxine James in 1990 at Las Vegas. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Wynelda Gay Buell of Dallas and Raeola Shepherd of Red River, N.M.; four stepdaughters, Hazel Richardson and Jo-Ann Bocock, both of Boise City, Carroll Lawrence of Clayton, N.M., and Gail Myers of Springfield, Colo.; a sister, Lucy Wells of Borger, Texas; three grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and 13 stepgreat-grandchildren. Graveside services will be at noon Tuesday in Fitzhugh Baptist Church Cemetery. Mr. Griggs was born in Puerto, Quay County, N.M., and had lived in El Paso before moving to Austin. He was a member of the Fitzhugh Baptist Church and the Rambo Masonic Lodge of Dripping Springs. He had worked for the Southern Pacific Railroad. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Griggs.
