Johnson PAMPA - Mabel A. Johnson, 96, formerly of Pampa, died Wednesday, April 12, 2000, in Metairie, La. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors, Colonial Chapel, with Rev. Jay Hutchens, pastor of the Lindenwood Christian Church of Memphis, Tenn., officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery at Pampa. Mrs. Johnson was born in Pine Bluff, Ark., and had lived in Chillicothe. She moved to McLean in 1942 and then to Pampa in 1944. She moved to Metairie in 1997. She was a member of The Gleaners Ladies Class and a member of the First Baptist Church of Pampa, where she had taught children's classes and was a nursery attendant. She married Dewey Johnson of Dallas in 1920. He died in 1961. She also was preceded in death by two sons, Virgil in 1984 and George in 1992; and a daughter, Lorraine Renck in 1989. Survivors include a daughter, Patricia Hutchens of Metairie; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and three greatgreat-grandchildren. Graveside services are at 2 p.m. Monday in the White Deer Cemetery with David Moore, a Baptist minister of Dallas, officiating. Arrangements are by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors in Pampa. Mr. Neill was born in Hamlin and had lived in Skellytown since the early 1960s. He served in the Army during World War II. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of Evergreen Masonic Lodge No. 325 in Three Rivers. He had been president of the Skellytown Lions Club. He was secretary of Skellytown Community Church and also served on the board. Mr. Neill married Beatrice Varner in 1969 at Skellytown. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Tommie Elliott of Princeton and Randy Elliott of Skellytown; five daughters, Ruth Robbins of Flower Mound, Gwyn Kayler of Skellytown, Kathleen Gould of Wilmington, N.C., Deborah Hendrick of Amarillo and Linda King of Canyon; a sister, Betty Jo Brackeen of Liberty; 15 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. today in Robertson Funeral Directors, Chapel of Memories, at Clarendon, with Bright Newhouse, minister of Hedley Church of Christ, officiating. Cremation was by Ellis Funeral Home of Midland. Mrs. Lynn was born in Hereford, where she lived for many years. Before her retirement, she was a longtime registered nurse. She moved from Hereford to Odessa six years ago. She was a member of Hereford Rebekah Lodge and the Sarah Circle of the United Methodist Women in Odessa. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Hereford. She married Wilton Lynn in 1937 at Hereford. He died in 1988. He married Irene Helton in 1957 at Lovington, N.M. He served in the Army during World War II and worked as a supervisor at Phillips Petroleum Co., until his retirement in 1985. He coached Little League and American Legion Baseball and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, where he held several offices. He married Frances Scheele in 1946 at Plainview. Funeral mass was at 2 p.m. Saturday at the church with the Rev. Roney officiating. Burial was in Hale Center Cemetery by Freeman-Abell Funeral Home. Mrs. Martinez was born in Alfred and moved to Hale Center from Mathis in 1950. She was a member of the St. Theresa's Catholic Church and the Guadalupanas. She married Simon Martinez in 1944 at Mathis. Survivors include her husband; a son, Richard Martinez of Boyd; five daughters, Anita Betancur, Olga Leon, Irene Martinez, Belen Gomez and Minerva Martinez, all of Hale Center; two brothers, Alonzo Martinez of Mathis and Benito Martinez of Del Rio; two sisters, Adela Martinez and Isabel Martinez, both of Mathis; 21 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. She lived in Arkansas until she moved to Pampa in 1977. She was a member of the Highland Baptist Church and was active in Sunday School and the Women's Missionary Union. She married Velmer W. Blanscet in 1928 at Franklin County, Ark. He died in 1977. She also was preceded in death by a son, Arthur Wayne Blanscet. Survivors include a son, Roy Blanscet of Pampa; two sisters, Sylvia Allred of Mulberry, Ark., and Oma Jaggers of Clarksville, Ark.; two grandsons; and five great-grandchildren. She moved from Stephenville, where she attended school, to Wellington, where she was a longtime resident. She was a homemaker, a volunteer for Retired Seniors Volunteer Program, and a member of First Assembly of God Church. She later attended First Baptist Church. She was active in her Sunday school class and with Keenagers. She married William Earl Brinkley in 1950 at Clovis, N.M. He died in 1988. Her daughter, Debra Whitaker, died in 1991. Survivors include a son, Mike Brinkley of Seminole; two daughters, Saundra James of Wellington and Tammie Williams of Delray Beach, Fla.; a sister, Charlene Phipps of Iowa Park; 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. "Pat" Bouchelle, 84, died Friday, April 14, 2000, in Lubbock. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Dodson Church of Christ with Larry Branum of Springdale, Ark., officiating, and Bob Garton, minister, assisting. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery by Adams Funeral Home. Mr. Bouchelle was born in Lampasas County, graduated from high school in Copperas Cove, and was a longtime resident of Collingsworth County. During World War II, he worked as a supervisor at North American Aviation in Grand Prairie, where they built planes for the war. He later served with the Merchant Marines. He was a farmer and stockman and in the 1970s was named Farmer of the Year by the Salt Fork Soil and Water Conservation. In January, he and his wife were honored by Agriculture Commissioner Susan Combs at the Texas Department of Agriculture's 25th Annual Family Land Heritage ceremony at the Lyndon B. Johnson Auditorium on the University of Texas campus at Austin. The Family Land Heritage Program honors families whose farms and ranches have been in continuous operation for 100 years or more. Bouchelle Farms has been in existence for 111 years. In 1974, the Bouchelle Farms Partnership was formed. Mr. Bouchelle was a member of the Church of Christ. He married Louise Terry in 1942 at Dallas. Survivors include his wife; a son, Terry Dan Bouchelle of Lewisville; two daughters, Patricia Louise Rhoades of Lubbock and Jennifer Doris Havens of Clovis, N.M.; two sisters, Mabel Eoff of Kipner and Doris Childres of Cedar Hill; a brother, Donald V. Mrs. Bettis was born in De Queen, Ark., and moved to Canadian in 1929 from Paden, Okla. In 1953, she moved to Pampa and returned to Canadian in 1988. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Canadian and Pampa. She moved to Amarillo in 1998. She married Ira Edward Bettis in 1927 at Paden. He died in 1988. Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 Bell St., with Dr. Jim Smith of St. Stephen United Methodist Church officiating. Mr. Nelson was born in Imperial, Neb., and attended school in Franklin, Neb., Santa Maria, Calif., Anadarko, Okla., and Clinton, Okla. After graduating from Tascosa High School, where he was a member of the National Honor Society and the band, he cruised with the Texas Maritime Academy, a branch of Texas A&M. He received a scholarship from the Panhandle Association of Petroleum Landmen and graduated from the University of Texas in 1967 with a bachelor's in business administration in petroleum land management. He worked for Shell Oil Co. at Broomfield, Colo., Traverse City, Mich., and Houston. From 1977 until 1980, he worked as Land Manager for AMAX Inc. He worked for Sabine in the gulf states area before becoming an independent land man in 1983. After retiring in 1985, he returned to Amarillo in 1986. He married Karen Kollatschny in 1970. Survivors include his son, Justin Paul Nelson; his parents, Wilbur and Shirley Nelson of Hot Springs Village, Ark.; two brothers, Bill David Nelson of Oakland, Calif., and Roger Lee Nelson of Little Rock, Ark.; two sisters, Paula Jean Boldt of Hillsborough, Calif., and Vicki Charlotta Wright of Garland; and his grandmother, Frances Carter of Longmont, Colo. She was a housewife and a Baptist. She married John Henry Martin in 1919 at Clayton, N.M. He died in 1960. Three sons, Carl Martin, Raymond Martin, and Fred Martin, preceded her in death. Mr. Broome was born in Rock Hill, S.C., and was a 1930 graduate of Clovis High School, where he was captain of the state championship basketball and football teams. During the 1950s and 1960s, he was a football announcer at Wildcat Stadium for the Clovis Wildcats. From 1952 until 1978, he was principal at Highland Elementary School. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Clovis. He married Marilyn E. "Beth" Nelson in 1942 at Rossville, Ga.
