Services will be at 1 p.m. today in Hass Funeral Chapel with Dean Whaley, minister of Dalhart Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will be in Shaha Cemetery at Sedan, N.M. Mrs. Reeves was born in Sedan and attended school in Sedan for 11 years. She later received her diploma at age 67. She moved to Lubbock in 1955 from Dalhart. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include a son, Kenneth Edward Reeves of Woodrow; five daughters, Patricia Taylor of Lubbock, Cathy Fuston of Duncan, Okla., Donita Myatt of Shelbyville, Ken., and Diane Luera and Sharesa Brady, both of Wolfforth; three brothers, Jody Bush of Tucumcari, N.M., Richard Bush of Dalhart and Odis Bush of Hot Springs, Ark.; 18 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Burial will be in East Mound Cemetery by Seigler Funeral Home in Matador. Mrs. Cole was born in Matador and graduated in 1962 from Della Plains High School in Floydada. For more than 20 years she was employed by Texas Instruments in Lubbock. Later, she was a teacher's assistant for the Lubbock Independent School District. She was a member of the Parkway Church of Christ. Survivors include a daughter, La Fonda Cole of Lubbock; a son, Mack Cole Jr., of Lubbock; her mother, Algaree Jones of Matador; a sister, Evelyn Jones of Lubbock; and two grandchildren. Amarillo Daily News, Feb. 16, 2000 Edith Delores Smallwood PLAINVIEW - Edith Delores Smallwood, 78, of Lubbock, died Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2000. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in East Mound Cemetery in Matador with Don Robertson, pastor of College Heights Baptist Church in Plainview, officiating. Arrangements are by Wood-Dunning Funeral Home of Plainview. Mrs. Smallwood was born in Miles County. In 1956 she moved to Plainview from Matador. She worked at Stanley's Drug Store in Matador and as a retail clerk at West Drug in Plainview. She was a member of College Heights Baptist Church. She married Jessie Wester Smallwood in 1952 at Matador. He died in 1992. Survivors include a daughter, Judy Matthews of North Carolina; six sisters, Ruby Whitaker of Brownfield, Geraldine Skaggs, Genelle Carpenter and Pat Edwards, all of Palo Pinto, Alta Earle Price of Lubbock and Mary Ann Avara of Denver City; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Amarillo Daily News, Feb. 16, 2000 Grady F. Havenhill PAMPA - Grady F. Havenhill, 80, died Monday, Feb. 14, 2000. Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. today in Wheeler Cemetery with Paul Nachtigall, pastor of Highland Baptist Church in Pampa, officiating. Arrangements are by Wright Funeral Home of Wheeler. Mr. Havenhill was born in Harmon County, Okla. During World War II he served in the China, Burma and India theaters with the Army Air Corps. He lived in Pampa 13 years then moved to Woodward, Okla., for 13 years and returned to Pampa 25 years ago. In 1982 Mr. Havenhill retired after 34 years as a pumper for Amaco Production Co. He was a member of the Highland Baptist Church of Pampa. He married Mary Berniece Bailey in 1941 in Texola, Okla. Survivors include his wife; a son, Gene Havenhill of Tyler; a sister, Viola Carlton of Twitty; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Clinton Young, officiating. Burial will be in Quanah Memorial Park by Price-Jackson Funeral Home. Mrs. Sewell was born in Quanah and moved to Indiana in 1943. She returned to Texas in 1961. She was a farmer and member of First Baptist Church. She married Joe Orene Sewell who died in 1988. She also was preceded in death by a son, William Sewell, in 1982. Survivors include a son, James Sewell of Winamac, Ind.; two daughters, Aleta McIlree of Dyer, Ind., and Betty Mitchell of Portage, Ind.; 13 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and six great-greatgrandchildren. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street. Mr. Murr was born in Amarillo. He graduated in 1945 from Amarillo High School, where he played football. During World War II he served in the Army infantry. He retired from Pantex in 1994 after 40 years as a quality supervisor. He was a member and past commander of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 1475. He was past commander of VFW District 9. Survivors include five daughters, Paula Freeman of Keller, Susan LeFebvre of Denver, Marsha Murr Lima of San Diego, Texas, Kristi Nolan Murr of Balch Springs and Vicki Haiduk of Amarillo; a son, Larry Keys of Wichita, Kan.; two sisters, Donna Belle Day and Lena Mae Love, both of Amarillo; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Amarillo Daily News, Feb. 16, 2000 Herma Louise Ogle Herma Louise Beckham Ogle, 82, of Amarillo, died Monday, Feb. 14, 2000. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Paramount Baptist Church with the Rev. F.M. Byford of the church and Trent Sisemore officiating. Mrs. Ogle was born in Palmer and graduated from Pampa High School in 1935. She moved to Amarillo in 1940. She worked as a bookkeeper for automobile dealerships for 55 years, including 29 years at the LincolnMercury dealership. As a teen Mrs. Ogle became a charter member of Central Baptist Church in Pampa. She later became a charter member of Olson Park Baptist Church. She served as church clerk, sang in the choir and was a Sunday school teacher. She married Howard Sage Ogle in 1940. He died in 1982. Survivors include a son, Melvin David Ogle of Fort Worth; a daughter, Barbara Joy Ogle Snell of Amarillo; a brother, Doyle H. Beckham of Pampa; three sisters, Edith B. Whalen of Albuquerque, N.M., and Freddie N. Bills and Julie B. Firestone, both of Amarillo; and three grandchildren. He retired after 25 years as division operator for Santa Fe Railway. He was a member of First Christian Church. He married Marjorie Louise Grant in 1950 at Amarillo. Survivors include two sons, Johnny Lee Johnson and Jim Johnson, both of Amarillo; a daughter, Connie Clark of Canyon; and five grandchildren. Amarillo Daily News, Feb. 16, 2000 New Mexico Martin Lee Chandler CLOVIS, N.M. - Martin Lee Chandler, 63, formerly of Clovis and Farwell, Texas, died Sunday, Feb. 13, 2000, in Belton, Texas. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Steed-Todd Funeral Home Chapel at Clovis. Burial will be in Lawn Haven Memorial Cemetery. Mr. Chandler was born in Clovis. He graduated from Wayland Baptist University at Plainview, Texas and was an Army veteran. He was a longtime Farwell resident. In 1992 he retired after 33 years with the U.S. Department of Agriculture. He moved to Belton and worked in transportation for Belton Independent School District. In Temple, Texas, he worked for the Scott and White Clinic. Mr. Chandler was a member of First Baptist Church in Belton, where he served as offering receiver and on the Lord's Supper Committee. He was a member and board member of the Bell County Sportsman Club. He married Edith M. Miller in 1968 at Clovis. Survivors include his wife; a son, Mark Chandler of Round Rock, Texas; two daughters, Roxie Geuther of Chandler, Ariz., and Terri Creamer of Garland, Texas; two brothers, Fred Chandler of Farwell and Nolan Chandler of Amarillo; and five grandchildren. The family will receive visitors from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. today at the Holiday Inn. Amarillo Daily News, Feb. 16, 2000 A.G. Grooms TUCUMCARI, N.M. - A.G. Grooms, 78, died Monday, Feb. 1, 2000. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Anne's Catholic Church with the Rev. John C. Daniel officiating. Burial will be in Tucumcari Memorial Park Cemetery by Dunn Funeral Home. Mr. Grooms was born in Fort Worth, Texas, and was a long time resident of Tucumcari. He graduated from Goodwell, Okla., High School and attended Panhandle A&M College. During World War II he served in the Army Air Corps with the 26th Air Service. After his discharge Mr. Grooms farmed in Gruver, Texas then moved to Tucumcari in 1952 where he also farmed. From 1964 until 1990 he was a night auditor for motels in Tucumcari and Taos. He was a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife, Fidelia Phoebe Grooms; a daughter, Joycelyn Whittington of Albuquerque; two sons, Brad Grooms of Auburn, Wash., and Randy Grooms of Reno, Nev.; six stepchildren, Elaine Mason and Terry Martinez, both of Albuquerque; John Toney of Clovis, Joe Toney of San Rafael and Johnny R. Quintana and Claude E. Quintana, both of Tucumcari; 18 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Viewing will be from this morning until time of services Thursday in the church. Arrangements are by Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton. Mrs. Brown was born in Tacoma, Wash., and graduated from Trinidad High School in 1982. For the past 13 years she was employed by Wal-Mart in Trinidad. She was a supporter of the Des Moines schools. She married Charles E. Brown in 1995 at Folsom, N.M. Lindley, 86, died Monday, Feb. 14, 2000. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Yantis First Baptist Church in Yantis. Burial will be in Yantis Cemetery with local arrangements by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle. Mr. Lindley was born in Yantis. He received his bachelor of arts degree from East Texas State College then was a teacher. Until he entered the Army, he worked in the Sulphur Springs State Bank. While in the Army, Mr. Lindley worked in the radar field. After his discharge, he moved to Winnsboro where he opened a radio repair shop. He also was a coach, farmer, cattleman and was in television repair. He married Martha Ryan in 1941 at Dallas. Survivors include two daughters, Lura Elliott of Amarillo and Ann Logsdon of Frisco; two grandsons; and a great-grandson.
