Clinkingbeard Robert C. Clinkingbeard, 91, of Amarillo, died Tuesday, June 13, 2000. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Welty Cemetery at Welty, Okla. Arrangements are by Kelley Funeral Home of Okmulgee, Okla. Mr. Clinkingbeard was born in Sallisaw, Okla. He lived in Paden, Okla., until 1950, when he moved to Amarillo. He worked for Gilvin-Terrill Construction Co., retiring in 1970. He was a Methodist. He married Dola Mae Rogers in 1929. He was preceded in death by a son, Johny Lee Clinkingbeard. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Corrine Robison of Romayor and Joan Cresap of Amarillo; a sister, Billie Collier of Cushing, Okla.; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Mr. Teetsel was born in Tannersville, N.Y. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War. He was a Baptist. Amarillo Daily News, June 16, 2000 Travis Ray Kelly Travis Ray Kelly, 68, of Amarillo, died Wednesday, June 14, 2000. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Llano Cemetery with the Rev. Robert Field, pastor of Southeast Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home, 2800 S. Osage St. Mr. Kelly was born in Blair Mountain, Okla. During World War II, he served in the Army. He attended Oklahoma University. In 1961, he moved to Amarillo from Altus, Okla. He had worked for Cameron Wholesale and for Payless Cashways. Mr. Kelly married Linda LeGrand in 1990. Survivors include his wife; a son, Scott Kelly of Amarillo; a stepdaughter, Angela LeGrand of Amarillo; a stepson, David LeGrand of Amarillo; a brother, Kenneth Deloy Kelly of Snyder, Okla.; and one grandchild. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mrs. Morris was born in Melrose, N.M., and moved to the Texas Panhandle at age 14. She had lived in Dalhart and moved to Amarillo in 1963. She was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sue Homes; and by a son, Roger Lee Payne. Survivors include three daughters, Peggy Stovall of Amarillo, Thelma Bledsoe of Albuquerque, N.M., and Vicki Bjerke of Elko, Minn.; two sons, J.W. Payne of Camp Verde, Ariz., and James Payne of Pottsboro; two brothers, Chester Barlow of Cassville, Mo., and F.W. Barlow of Melrose; 17 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. Amarillo Daily News, June 16, 2000 Canyon Douglas Wade Kohout Douglas Wade Kohout, 63, of Canyon, died Wednesday, June 14, 2000. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Holley Funeral Home Chapel with Ron Sharp, minister with Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and the Rev. Greg Barbee, Baptist minister of Amarillo, officiating. Burial will be in Dreamland Cemetery. Mr. Kohout was born in Stamford, he graduated from Stamford High School and attended Howard College at Big Spring. He worked for the Texas and Pacific Railway and had lived in Big Spring, Fort Worth and Baird. Mr. Kohout worked for Rural Electric Co. as a lineman and lived in Roby and Morton. He moved to Canyon in 1976 and later returned to Stamford and worked as an insurance salesman, retiring in 1996. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Canyon. Mr. Kohout married Frances Davie in 1958 at Big Spring. Survivors include a son, Kent Kohout of Amarillo; two daughters, Tana Kimbley of Amarillo and Kristi Polk of Corpus Christi; his mother, Velma Kohout of Stamford; a sister, Lavada Lawson of Abilene; the mother of his children, Frances Kohout of Canyon; and three grandchildren. Graveside services were at 10 a.m. Thursday in Buffalo Springs Cemetery with the Rev. Jamie Reed, pastor of Eastside Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Davis Funeral Home in Henrietta. Mrs. Hardeman was born in Buffalo Springs. She taught piano and was a pianist at First Baptist Church in Bowie. She also was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She later moved to Henrietta, where she was a charter member of Grace Temple Baptist Church. She later lived in Dalhart before moving back to Bowie. She married L.D. Hardeman in 1927 at Wichita Falls. He died in 1982. Survivors include a daughter, Donna Ruth Allen of Bowie; a son, Louis Hardeman of Georgetown; a brother, Leon Strealy of Quitman; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. John Glover, associate pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Mrs. Jones was born in Butler, Pa., and moved to Pampa in 1927. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church. She recently moved to Denton, where she attended First United Methodist Church. She married Martin Arnold Jones in 1929 at White Deer. He died in 1983. She also was preceded in death by two daughters, Mildred Margaret Jones and Mary Virginia Morgan. Survivors include five daughters, Dorothy Whitfield and Nancy Davis, both of Denton, Gladys Robertson of Austin, and Janet Hunt and Debbie Bryant, both of Dallas; three sons, Bobby Jones of Amarillo, Jimmy Jones of Phoenix and Rick Jones of Athens, Ga.; 13 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Soto, 82, died Tuesday, June 13, 2000. Rosary was recited at 8 p.m. Thursday in St. Theresa's Catholic Church by the Rev. Rey Sorgon, pastor. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. today in the church by the Rev. Sorgon. Burial will be in Hale Center Cemetery by Freeman-Abel Funeral Home. Mrs. Soto was born in Chihuahua, Mexico. She moved to Hale Center in 1998 from Mexico. She was a member of St. Theresa's Catholic Church. She married Rosario Soto in 1935 at Chihuahua. He died in 1987. She also was preceded in death by three children, Ramon Trejo, Salome Borunda and Bertha Trejo. Survivors include three sons, Carlos Trejo of Gruver, Crisoforo Trejo of Tyler and Guadalupe Trejo of Morse; two daughters, Catalina Borunda of Phoenix and Emidia Borunda of Hale Center; two brothers, Pedro Soto of Juarez, Mexico, and Florencio Soto of Delicias, Mexico; 25 grandchildren; and 50 great-grandchildren. Bob Davis of Progressive Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mrs. Hughes was born in Pawhuska, Okla., and moved to Pampa 48 years ago from Pawhuska. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Progressive Baptist Church and the Southside Senior Citizens Center. She also volunteered with Meals On Wheels. She married Champ O. Hughes in 1947 at Pawhuska.
