Services will be at 11 a.m. today in Price-Jackson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. John Spangler, minister of Trinity Baptist Church, and Jack Davis officiating. Burial will be in Kirkland Cemetery at Kirkland. Mrs. Sharp was born in Granite, Okla. She lived in Kirkland before moving to Quanah, where she was a longtime resident and farmed and ranched. She was a member of First Baptist Church. She married Samuel Ellis Sharp in Mineral Wells. He died in 1984. She is survived by a son, Ellis Eugene Sharp of Quanah. Amarillo Daily News, March 16, 2000 Mildred Lashley DALHART - Mildred Lashley, 94, died Tuesday, March 14, 2000. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Hass Funeral Home Chapel with Ray M. Guy, senior minister at First Christian Church, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Lashley was born in Indian Territory. She moved to Dalhart in 1909 where she graduated from Dalhart High School. She worked for Kenneth Martin Agency, Anthony's Department Store, Mormans Grocery, Bailey Motor Co. and Bowers Drug Store. She also had an accounting office in Dr. Cunningham's office. She was a member of First Christian Church. Mrs. Lashley was preceded in death by her husband, Buzz Lashley; and by a daughter, Judy Schoonmaker, in 1967. She is survived by a niece, Dona Sue Williamson. Amarillo Daily News, March 16, 2000 Tom Flowers SHAMROCK - Tom Flowers, 96, died Tuesday, March 14, 2000. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. today in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Jack Lee, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Shamrock Cemetery by Wright Funeral Directors. Mr. Flowers was born in Fort Gibson Claborne, Miss., and moved to Shamrock in 1939. He was an oil-field driller. He had been a member of Woodmen of the World and was a member of First Baptist Church. He married Gladys Jones in 1925 at Rolling Fork, Miss. She died in 1987. He also was preceded in death by two daughters, Margaret Ladd in 1995 and Dorothy Holmes in 1997. Survivors include a son, Fred Flowers of Amarillo; three daughters, Betty Nelson of San Antonio, Nancy Skinner of Amarillo and Sandra Deviney of Troy; a brother, Bilbo Flowers of Marshall; a sister, Versie Crow of Hazlehurst, Miss.; 16 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. Mr. Coleman was born in Decatur and moved to Plainview in 1950. He was employed by Green Machinery. He moved to Oklahoma City in 1985. He married Williemae Johnson in 1946. She preceded him in death. Survivors include six sons, Ralph L., Dwayne and James Coleman Jr. all of Plainview, Jimmy Lee Coleman of Dumas, Royce Coleman of Arizona and Timothy Coleman of Oklahoma; four daughters, Shirley Coleman of Crear, Priscilla Hill and Pamela Savoid, both of Oklahoma, and Marcia M. Mrs. Munger was born in Tyrone, Okla., and graduated from high school in 1936 at Gould, Okla. In 1946, she moved to Perryton from Hooker, Okla. Mrs. Munger was a bank teller at Perryton National Bank. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Liberal, Kan. She married Adrian R. Munger in 1939. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1979 and by a son, Delmer Lee Munger, in 1949. Survivors include two daughters Kay McGarraugh and Carol McGarraugh, both of Perryton; a brother, Orville A. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa. Mr. Hall was born in Stigler, Okla., and moved to Pampa in 1926. He owned and operated Hall Tire Co. and Hall's Auto Sound. Mr. Hall was a member of First Christian Church and the Pampa Senior Citizens Center and was a former member of the Pampa Jaycees. During World War II, he served in the Army Air Corps. He married Jo Ann "Jody" Hall in 1947 at Pampa. She died in 1987. Survivors include a daughter, Leanne McPherson of Kingwood; two sons, Randy Hall and Richard "Rick" Hall, both of Pampa; and nine grandchildren. The family will be at 1840 Evergreen. Mrs. Clawson was born in Indian Territory and had lived in the McLean area for 62 years. She was a member of the Church of Christ. She married Archie Clawson in 1921 at Clarendon. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1989 and by a son, Doug Clawson, in 1978. Survivors include a daughter, Juanita Forsdick; three sisters, Alma Nelson, Sadie Lane and Edna Lou Hood; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren. Vigil services will be at 7:30 p.m. today in St. Ann's Catholic Church in Bovina with Deacon John Nino officiating. Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Ann's Catholic Church with the Rev. Ed Sweeney officiating. Burial will be in Bovina Cemetery by Ellis-Blackwell Funeral Home of Friona. Mr. Brito was born in Bovina where he was a lifelong resident. While serving in the Navy, he was stationed aboard the USS Brannon. In 1954, he was employed at the West Hub Gin and became a partner in 1958. In 1997, Mr. Brito sold out his interest and retired. He was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus, where he held several offices. He married Mary Rose Baca in 1954 at Bovina. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Dennis Brito of Hereford, Rory Brito of Odessa and Toby Brito of Bovina; six sisters, Pearl Cervantez of Bovina, Matilda Baca and Elizabeth Sena, both of Friona, Marie Cervantez of Clovis, N.M., Donna Dominguez of Portales, N.M., and Lucy Everett of Earth; a brother, Joe Brito of Ribera, N.M.; and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1992 and by a son, Lee Roy Kent. Amarillo Daily News, March 16, 2000 Amarillo William J. Davitt William J. Davitt, 82, of Amarillo, died Sunday, March 12, 2000. No services are planned. Arrangements are by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40. Mr. Davitt was born in Louisville, Colo. In 1998, he moved to Amarillo from Bothell, Wash. He was an Episcopalian. He retired as a colonel after 33 years as an Air Force pilot. He saw service in World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War, receiving medals and commendations for his service.. He married Marjorie Tirrell in 1946 at Las Vegas. She died in 1992. Survivors include a daughter, Vicki D. Thomas of Billings, Mont.; a son, Kevin M. Davitt of Amarillo; and two grandchildren. He was a Baptist. He married Lucia Paredes in 1948 at Amarillo. She died in 1996. Survivors include a daughter, Victoria Evans of Amarillo; a son, Joe Paredes of Amarillo; four sisters, Ester Jonas and Jessie Velasquez, both of Amarillo, Sara Starr of Virginia Beach, Va., and Maria Duran of Mexico City, Mexico; two brothers, Paul Rodriguez of Mexico City and Felix Rodriguez of Amarillo; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in First Baptist Church in San Jon with the Rev. Ben Talley of the church officiating. Burial will be in San Jon Cemetery by Dunn Funeral Home of Tucumcari. A longtime San Jon resident, Mr. Priest was born in Knox County, Texas. When he was 16, he joined the Horse Calvary. He worked with horses at Fort Bayard. Mr. Priest participated in cattle drives in the Southwest. He lived in California where he operated Morgan's Private Patrol Service in San Diego County, first on horseback and then by motor scooter. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in San Jon. He was preceded in death by two wives, Callie Roberts Priest and, in 1996, Elda Tillman Priest, and a daughter, Irene. Survivors include two daughters, Diane Sohn of San Diego and Darlene Basham of Sunnyvale, Calif.; two sons, Albert Priest Jr. of San Diego and Ray Priest of Las Vegas; a sister, Margaret Benson of Mississippi; four stepsons, Laddie Tillman of Tucson, Larry Tillman of Ruidoso, Leland Tillman of Clovis and Lowell Tillman of New York; a stepdaughter, Lana Lujan of San Jon; 10 grandchildren; great-grandchildren and great-grandchildren; step-grandchildren; and step-great-grandchildren and step-great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Glenn was born in Lincoln, Ark., and moved to Stanton in 1959 from Midland. She was a beautician. She was a member of First Baptist Church, where she served as chairman of the hostess committee, and the China Painters Guild. She married O.R. "Bob" Glenn in 1949 at Canyon. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy Thomas. Box 1168, Stanton, TX 79782. Amarillo Daily News, March 16, 2000 Ernest L. Hunt Jr. VISTA, Calif. - Ernest L."Ernie" Hunt Jr., 67, died Saturday, March 11, 2000. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Community Church of Vista with arrangements by Allen Brothers Mortuary. Mr. Hunt was born and raised in Clarendon, Texas. In 1965, he joined the Bar Association of Northern San Diego County, serving as its president in 1991. In 1993, he won its President's Award for distinguished service. Mr. Hunt worked on plans for the Vista Courthouse which opened in 1998. He engineered a land swap with a private developer that made way for the $50 million courthouse. He retired from his law practice in January. Mr. Hunt also was a member of the Vista Boys and Girls Club board of directors, co-founding the club's charitable foundation in 1977. He served in officer roles including president and won three national awards from the organization. He married his wife, Dara. Survivors include his wife; a son, John Hunt; a daughter, Katherine Fitzgerald; a sister, Louva Hunt of Clarendon; a granddaughter; and nieces and nephews. "Sonny" Williams, 58, died Monday, March 13, 2000. Services will be at 10 a.m. today in Earthman Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mike Procter officiating. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. today in Union Springs Cemetery in Corrigan. Mr. Williams lived in Amarillo from 1954 until 1958 where he graduated from Amarillo High School. For 25 years, he lived in Baytown where he was customer service manager at Sears in Pasadena and was former owner of S. Williams Car Lot in Houston. Survivors include three daughters, Julie Louise Williams, Kathryn Marie Williams and Leslie Lynn Williams; and a son, Robert Knox Williams. Amarillo Daily News, March 16, 2000 Oklahoma Maxine Thompson Sparks TEMPLE, Okla. - Maxine Thompson Sparks, 90, died Tuesday, March 14, 2000. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in First United Methodist Church in Temple with the Rev. Lenn Murray officiating. Burial will be in Temple Cemetery by Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home of Temple. Mrs. Sparks was born and raised in Temple where she lived until moving to Amarillo 15 months ago. She was involved in community affairs and was the unofficial town historian. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Mrs. Sparks was a founding member and a past worthy matron of the Order of Eastern Star in Temple. She owned the Hob-Nob Cafeteria and was coordinator for Seniors Citizens, retiring when she was 82. She married Wade Sparks in 1927. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1972 and by two infants. Survivors include a son, Charles Sparks of Shawnee; a daughter, Jerry Gibson of Amarillo; two grandsons; and a great-granddaughter.
