Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at 16th & D Church of Christ with Curtis Shelburne officiating. Burial will be in Muleshoe Memorial Park Cemetery by Ellis Funeral Home. Mrs. Splawn was born in Turkey and moved to Muleshoe in 1926. She was a 1938 graduate of Muleshoe High School and from 1957 until her retirement in 1981, she worked as dispatcher for the Bailey County sheriff's office. She was a member of the 16th & D Church of Christ and of the Muleshoe Jennyslippers. She married Howard Splawn in 1940 at Clovis, N.M. He died in 1975. Survivors include two sons, Ken Splawn of Perryton and Art Splawn; a daughter, Pam Martin of Baton Rouge, La.; six grandchildren; and four greatgrandchildren. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. today at the funeral home. Amarillo Daily News April 17, 2000 Christie Marie Bates DUMAS - Christie Marie Bates, infant daughter of Melissa and Robert "Rob" Bates, died Friday, April 14, 2000. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Dumas Cemetery with Mr. Chris Swinford, pastor of Third & Kilgore Church of Christ in Portales, N.M., and Mr. Art Lynch, pastor of First Street Church of Christ in Dumas officiating. Arrangements are by Morrison Funeral Directors. Christie was born in Amarillo. Survivors include her parents; a brother, Phillip Regan Bates of Dumas; grandparents, David and Joyce Swinford of Dumas and Phillip and Gretchwin Bates of Lubbock; and great-grandmothers, Mary Ann McCoy of Dumas and Martha Bates of Dallas. The family suggests memorials be to a favorite charity. Amarillo Daily News April 17, 2000 Goodloe Meason QUANAH - Goodloe Meason, 82, died Saturday, April 15, 2000, in Crowell. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jesse Dea and the Rev. Larry ReedFarris officiating. Burial will be in Quanah Memorial Park by Price-Jackson Funeral Home. Mr. Meason was born in Crowell, where he graduated from Crowell High School. During World War II, he served with the Army and received numerous medals. He was a printer with the Foard County News until moving to Quanah, where he worked for Georgia Pacific at Acme until his retirement. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Quanah. He married Maxine Stone in 1945 at Crowell. She died in 1987. He married Geraldine Farrar in 1991 at Quanah. She died in 1998. Survivors include a daughter, Sue Meason Knox of Quanah; a son, Bill Rogers of Houston; a brother, Que Meason of Mineral Wells; a sister, Mary Eva Lyons of Graham; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Amarillo Daily News April 17, 2000 Carl L. Galbreath SHAMROCK - Carl L. Galbreath, 74, died Sunday, April 16, 2000. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Eleventh Street Baptist Church with the Rev. Ervin Emmert of Wheeler and the Rev. David Williams, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Shamrock Cemetery by Wright Funeral Directors. Mr. Galbreath was born in Cromwell, Okla., and grew up in Eunice, N.M. During World War II, he served with the Navy Seabees. He owned and operated L.R. Galbreath Trucking Co. He was a member of the Shamrock Community Church. He married Mary Lou Gaither in 1983 at Hobbs, N.M., and they lived in Crane from 1983 until moving to Shamrock in 1990. Survivors include his wife; five daughters, Linda May Burns of Oklahoma City, Brenda Kay Honaker of Magnolia, Elizabeth Ann Flores of Lefors, and Carlessa Jean Vaughn and Zelpha Darlene Wolf, both of Kingfisher, Okla.; three stepsons, Ronald G. Ketchum of Amarillo, William R. Ketchum of Plainview, and James D. Ketchum of Pampa; two stepdaughters, Mary Lynn McMasters of Sherman and Evelyn Kingston of Pottsboro; 23 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren. Amarillo Daily News April 17, 2000 Macky McCarty EARTH - Macky McCarty, 65, died Saturday, April 15, 2000. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Bobby Broyles, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Earth Memorial Cemetery by ParsonsEllis Funeral Home. Mr. McCarty was born in Sudan and moved to Earth from White Deer in 1971. Before moving to White Deer, he lived in Anton for 11 years. He was stationed in Germany while serving with the Army. He worked at Citizen State Bank of Anton and he worked at First Bank and Trust Co. of White Deer. From 1971 until 1989, he worked for Citizen State Bank of Earth. He was a past officer of the Southwestern Bankers Association and the Texas Bankers Association. Since 1989, he had been involved with the City Insurance Co. of Earth. He was a member of the Advisory Board of the Springlake / Earth Independent School District. He married Fran Phipps in 1958 at Earth. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Michele Barton of Earth; his mother, Opal McCarty of Levelland; a sister, Dorothy Smith of Levelland; and two grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to First Baptist Church, Earth, TX 79031; or the Earth Emergency Medical Service. Mrs. Regan was born in Kenefic, Okla., and moved to Borger in 1975. She was a housewife, and a member of the Borger Ladies Golf Association. Her husband, Ed Regan, died in 1972. Survivors include three nephews, J.C. Preston of Denison, Jerry Winton of Sherman, and Marvin Preston of Tampa, Fla.; and a niece, Jackie Guinn of Sherman. She owned and operated a beauty shop in Clovis, N.M., before retiring and moving to Quanah in 1985. She married Floyd Leon Williamson in 1940 at Clovis. Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Grace J. Parker of Quanah, Charlene Johnson of Harrisburg, N.C., and La Nelda Gordon of San Antonio; a son, Floyd L. Williamson Jr., of Mililani, Hawaii; three sisters, Velera Ellis of Riverside, Calif., Susie Shields of Clarendon, and Elwanda Gardner of Viola, Ark.; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Mr. Washburn was born in Anson and moved to Fritch in 1999. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of the Andrews Masonic Lodge No. 1024 and ELMIDA Shrine Temple. He served with the Army and was a pipeline inspector for MBF Services. He was a Church of Christ member. Survivors include a son, Dwain Washburn of Fritch; a daughter, Kathy Hudson of Pleasant View, Tenn.; and nine grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to the Shriners. Amarillo Daily News April 17, 2000 Harry Easton Blenden LOCKNEY - Harry Easton Blenden, 77, died Saturday, April 15, 2000. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Main Street Church of Christ with Russell Harris, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Lockney Cemetery by Moore-RoseWhite Funeral Home. Mr. Blenden was born in Rockdale and moved to Lockney in 1940 from Glenn. After graduating from Lockney High School in 1940, he worked for his father on their farm. During World War II, he served with the Army in the South Pacific. In 1950, he received a master's degree from Texas Tech University and moved to Pecos, where he was an agriculture instructor. In 1959, he moved to Plainview and in 1962, to Lockney, where he farmed. He then worked as a crop adjuster until his retirement. He married Dewanda Bennett in 1943 at Fresno, Calif. His son, Kenneth Blenden, died in 1983. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Elton Blenden of Johnstown, Pa., and Brad Blenden of Amarillo; a brother, Dick A. Blenden of Carlsbad, N.M., a sister, Sue Thornton of Albuquerque, N.M.; and six grandchildren. Visitation sill be from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials be to a children's home; or a favorite charity. Amarillo Daily News April 17, 2000 Amarillo James Henry Randall James Henry Randall, 74, of Amarillo, died Friday, April 14, 2000. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors, Memorial Chapel, 315 E. Fifth Ave., with the Rev. Charles Waugh of Westview Christian Church officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mr. Randall was born in Amarillo and attended Amarillo High School before joining the Navy, where he served until 1946 as an aviation machinist's mate second class. He then worked for his father at Randall Building Co., and later for Gulf Oil Co., until 1979. After returning to Amarillo from Richardson, he reopened Randall Building Co., and retired in 1991. Mr. Randall was a member of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the B.P.O. Elks. He was past president of the AMBUCS Palo Duro Chapter and a member of Westview Christian Church. He married Joy Whitehead in 1976 at Amarillo. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Debbie Morton of Amarillo; two stepsons, Bobby Whitehead and Scott Whitehead, both of Amarillo; a sister, Marjie Barley of Post; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. The family suggests, in lieu of flowers, memorials be to the Palo Duro Business Club Living Endowment; or the American Heart Association. Georgia St. Miss Brod was a 1976 graduate of Tascosa High School and received an associate degree in computer aided drafting and design from Amarillo College. She worked for American General Annuity and was a member of the Jehovah's Witnesses Southwest Congregation. She is survived by her parents, Norma and Joe Brod of Amarillo. Long CLOVIS, N.M. - Floyd L. Long, 88, died Saturday, April 15, 2000. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Melrose Cemetery at Melrose with Dr. James Burke officiating. Arrangements are by Steed-Todd Funeral Home. Mr. Long was born in Tupelo, Miss., and had lived in Clovis since 1946. During World War II, he served with the Navy. He retired as an automotive mechanic and was a Methodist. He married Margaret "Maggie" Taylor in 1966 at Clovis. Survivors include his wife; a son, Danny Long of Clovis; a daughter, Patsy Welsh of Melrose; two brothers, Ray Long of Mississippi and Jack Long of California; four sisters, Ila Curtis White of Texas, Josephine Large of South Carolina, Sarah Hull of Florida, and Daisey Benham of California; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
