Osage St. Mr. Hoffman was born in Hereford and had lived in Amarillo most of his life. He graduated from Hereford High School. He worked as a waiter at Macaroni Joe's and several other restaurants in Amarillo. Survivors include a daughter, Elizabeth Hoffman of Amarillo; a son, Johnny Hoffman of Amarillo; his parents, Carl and Venita Hoffman of Amarillo; three sisters, Kathryn Parman of Hereford, Paula Ann Gamez of Amarillo and Cindy Kneeland of Palm Coast, Fla.; two brothers, Michael David Hoffman and Gary Ray Hoffman, both of Amarillo; and a special friend, Michael Lawson of Amarillo. The family will be at 7110 Pettitt St. Samuel Arthur Demerson III, 21, of Amarillo, died Sunday, Aug. 13, 2000, in Pampa. Services will be at 11 a.m. today in Mount Zion Baptist Church with the Rev. CLOVIS, N.M. - Wade Felty, 83, died Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2000. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Steed-Todd Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Harry Gray officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery at Pleasant Hill. Mr. Felty was born in Gunter, Texas. He lived in Clovis and then in Logan before moving back to Clovis in 1995. He was a construction-equipment operator in Texas and New Mexico before his retirement. He married Dora Mae Davis in 1936. She died in 1994. He also was preceded in death by a son, Bobby Felty, in 1972. Survivors include three grandsons, Bobby Felty of Grants, Tim Felty of Lubbock, Texas, and Steve Felty of Portales; a granddaughter, Patricia Felty of Weatherford, Texas; nieces and nephews. He was a member of the Arden Road Baptist Church. He married Ellen Thomas in 1975 at Amarillo. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Justin Len Hopper and Jason Len Hopper, both of Amarillo; a brother, Johnny C. Hopper of Farmersville; a sister, Judy Walker of Canadian; and two grandchildren. William Gaines Bradley, 93, of Amarillo, died Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2000. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Mulhearn Funeral Home at Monroe, La., with Dr. Lee McGlone officiating. Mrs. McMillin was born in Livingston, Tenn. She moved to Amarillo in 1976 from Florida. She was past worthy matron of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. She married T.K. McMillin in 1922 at Whitewright. He died in 1960. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Geraldine Ramsdell in 1976. Survivors include a daughter, Maxine Rollen of Amarillo; a sister, Fay Shaw of Dallas; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Khiva Shrine Temple or a favorite charity. Raymond B. Baker, 82, of Amarillo, died Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2000. Arrangements are by Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 Bell St. Mr. Baker was born in Williamson County, Ill., and was a longtime resident of Amarillo. During World War II, he served in the Army. He retired as foreman of the Randall County road department. He was a member of the South Lawn Baptist Church and the San Jacinto Lodge No. 1330. He married Dorothy Weaver In 1944. He was preceded in death by a son, Douglas Baker, in 1964. Survivors include his wife; a son, Steven Baker of Amarillo; a daughter, Linda Sutton of Guymon, Okla.; a brother, Melvin Baker of Portales, N.M.; three sisters, Opal Ware of Morton, Florence Boyce of Lubbock and Jean Kelly of Richardson; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was retired from the water department in Thornton, Colo. He married Lorraine Mueller in 1959 at Las Vegas. LUBBOCK - Anna Pearl Muckleroy, 90, died Snday, Aug. 13, 2000. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Tishomingo Cemetery at Tishomingo, Okla. Arrangements are by Corbin Funeral Home of Tishomingo and Resthaven Funeral Home in Lubbock. Mrs. Muckleroy was born in Davis, Okla. She attended school in Foss, Okla. She was a homemaker and worked on a farm. She received her cosmetology degree at Amarillo Beauty College and later owned Fairground Beauty Shop. She had been a member of Bolton Street Baptist Church in Amarillo since 1965. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Oklahoma. She married Ben H. Muckleroy in 1939 at Arapaho, Okla. He died in 1977. Survivors include a daughter, Sue McClure of Artesia, N.M.; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter. After retiring he worked as a school crossing guard. He was a Baptist. He married Virginia Bennett in 1938 at Canyon. Mrs. Wiginton was born in Littlefield. She was a homemaker. She lived in Canyon many years, then lived in south Texas before moving to Amarillo six years ago. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Canyon. She married Frank Wiginton in 1952 at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo. He died in 1993. She also was preceded in death by a son, David Wiginton, in 1997. The body will not be available for viewing. FRIONA - O.L. "Mac" McMurtrey, 73, died Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2000, in Amarillo. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. Alvin Petty officiating. Burial will be in Friona Cemetery by Ellis-Blackwell Funeral Home. Mr. McMurtrey was born in Walters, Okla. He joined the Navy in 1944, serving in the South Pacific during World War II. He returned to Parmer County in 1946 and worked as a carpenter, helping to build Friona Wheat Growers. He later helped build Mills & Fleming Gin at Hub. He was manager of Hub Grain Co. since 1959 and a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He had lived in Friona 48 years. Survivors include a daughter, Rachel Clark of Friona; three sons, Claude McMurtrey of Silverton, Darrell McMurtrey of San Diego and Bryce McMurtrey of Amarillo; a brother, Eddie McMurtrey of Midwest City, Okla.; and six grandchildren. PERRYTON - Mae Haynes Reece, 84, died Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2000. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today in Fairmount Cemetery at San Angelo with Robert Moore officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home. Mrs. Reece was born in San Angelo. She had lived in the Perryton area since 1994, moving from San Angelo. She was a homemaker and a member of the Johnson Street Church of Christ in San Angelo. She married William G. Reece in 1942 at New Mexico. He died in 1972. Survivors include a daughter, Annette Moore of Perryton; two grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Mr. Acevedo was born in Matachic, Chihuahua, Mexico. He had lived in Beaver for the past six years. He worked as a roughneck in the oil field. He married Delfina Aragon in 1979 at Chihuahua. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Adrian and Obed; a daughter, Arelhi; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gabriel Acevedo of Chihuahua; three brothers, Gabriel Jr., Jaime and Sergio, all of Chihuahua; and five sisters, Angela, Olga, Josefina, Luselma and Lilla, all of Chihuahua. KERMIT - Gary Lawrence Bliss, 50, died Sunday, Aug. 13, 2000, in Gardendale. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Northside Baptist Church with the Rev. Eddie Cotton, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Kermit Cemetery by Cooper Funeral Chapel Inc. Mr. Bliss was born in Monahans. He was a longtime resident of Kermit before moving to Odessa in July. He was an oil field technician for Brandt-Tubescope-Vetco. He was a Baptist. He married Ina Herrmann in 1999 at Deming, N.M. SHATTUCK, Okla. - Ruth Dolretta Bruce, 79, died Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2000. Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Jimmie Linscott officiating. Cremation has taken place. Mrs. Bruce grew up on a farm northwest of Shattuck. She worked at Newman Memorial Hospital for 18 years. She married Leland Bruce in 1941. He preceded her in death. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Lanelle. Survivors include three sons, Roy Bruce, Jack Bruce and James Bruce, all of Shattuck; a sister, Marjorie Shelton of Borger; a brother, Jimmie Linscott of Vernon, Texas; two grandsons; three great-grandsons; and a foster grandchild. He was a volunteer fireman in Littlefield. He married Wanda Green in 1947 at Portales, N.M. TULSA, Okla. - Jeffrey Raymond Harvey, 39, formerly of Amarillo, died Friday, Aug. 11, 2000. Services will be planned at a later date. Cremation by Cremation Society of Oklahoma. Mr. Harvey was born in Albuquerque, N.M. He moved to Idabel and later moved to Amarillo in 1977. He was a professional painter and had worked for several paint contractors in Amarillo. In 1998 he moved to Ada, where he started his own company "The Finishing Touch." He married Rhonda Redden in 1988 at Las Vegas. Survivors include wife; three sons, J.J. Harvey and Noah Harvey, and Mack Thomas Harvey of Roswell, N.M.; a daughter, Erin Lee Harvey of Roswell, N.M.; his mother, Nancy Harvey of Amarillo; two brothers, Kyle Harvey of Lubbock, Texas, and Tim Harvey of Antlers. BEAVER, Okla. - James Andrew "Andy" Morris, 66, died Monday, Aug. 14, 2000, in Clinton. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in the Pioneer Cemetery with Jim Sutherland officiating. Arrangements are by Clark Funeral Service. Mr. Morris was born in Atoka. He served with the Army in Germany during the Korean War. He moved to Beaver in 1968. He was a dirt contractor and partner in M&M Construction until his retirement. He was a member of the Baptist church, the Masonic Lodge and the American Legion. He was preceded in death by a son, Randy.
