Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mrs. Evans was born in Montgomery, where she attended school. She had lived in Amarillo many years. She was a homemaker. Survivors include her husband, R.G. Evans of Amarillo; a son, R.L. Evans of Denver, Colo.; two sisters, Georgia Rector of Amarillo and Gladys Fisher of Houston; a brother, Leon Powell of Montgomery; and a granddaughter. Arrangements are by Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 Bell St. Ms. Moyer was born in Childress and moved to Amarillo in 1987. She had worked for the Amarillo State Center. Robinson, 82, of Amarillo, died Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2000. No services are planned. Cremation and arrangements are by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40. Mr. Robinson was born in Alabama. He moved to Amarillo from Detroit in 1996. Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Harris of Amarillo. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Covenant of Joy Christian Church with the Rev. Jerry Young officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery East by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40. Mr. Mahaffey was born in Anadarko, Okla. He was a Marine veteran and had served in Korea. In 1989 he moved from Dumas to Amarillo. He was a farmer and a member of Covenant of Joy Christian Church. He married Mildred "Midge" Hjerpe in 1980 at Wyoming. He was preceded in death by two stepsons, Richard Hjerpe and Edward Hjerpe. Survivors include his wife; five stepsons, Phillip Hjerpe, Charles Hjerpe and Jack Hjerpe, all of Streator, Ill., and Jerry Hjerpe and Paul Hjerpe, both of Amarillo; three stepdaughters, Mary Sena of Wasilla, Alaska and Roseanne Garcia and Sue Younker, both of Streator; four sons, Charles Mahaffey and Kent Mahaffey, both of Arizona, Bobby Mahaffey of Tennessee and David Mahaffey of Amarillo; a daughter, Beverly Mahaffey of Arkansas; three half-brothers, Ronnie Mahaffey of Arizona and Mike Mahaffey and Clint Mahaffey, both of California; a half-sister, Marilyn Mahaffey of California; a sister, Wilma Mahaffey Reese of Virginia; and numerous grandchildren and greatgrandchildren. Georgia St. Mrs. Gamblin was born in Goldthwaite. She graduated from Barnard School for Girls in New York City, where she played basketball. She attended New York Art Academy in New York City. In 1944 she moved from New York to Amarillo. She was a member of Polk Street United Methodist Church. She married Rudy Gamblin in 1942 at Amarillo. He died in 1991. Survivors include two daughters, Cathy Snider of Maywood, Neb., and Mary Schrader of Amarillo; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Central Church of Christ Chapel with Dick Marcear of Central Church of Christ and Lyndon Latham of Anna Street Church of Christ officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors, Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue & Pierce Street. Mrs. Westmoreland was born in Tye and moved to Amarillo in 1963. She was office manager for Dr. Norman E. Wright and a member of Central Church of Christ. She married Darrell E. Westmoreland in 1944 at Abilene. He died in 1968. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Julia Shafer, in 1997. Survivors include a daughter, Joyce Loe of Canyon; a sister, Christine Thomasson of Kingsland; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Olguin, 67, died Saturday, Oct. 14, 2000, in Lubbock, Texas. Rosary will be at 7 p.m. today at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Burial will be at Texico Cemetery in Texico by SteedTodd Funeral Home. Mrs. Olguin was born in Shoemaker. She worked for New Mexico Legal Aid Services and was past director of the Friendship Senior Citizens Center. She also worked as a volunteer for voter registration and elections. She was a Clovis High School band parent and chaperone for the choir. She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, where she was involved with the prayer group and the funeral committee. She was also a member of the prayer group at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She married Ramon "Ray" Olguin in 1949 in Anton Chico. Survivors include her husband; four sons, Bobby Lee Olguin, Kenneth Olguin and R. Nathan Olguin, all of Clovis, and James Olguin of Mesa, Ariz.; four daughters, Martha "Marta" Madrid, Margaret Montano, Beverly Olguin and Tammy Vaughn, all of Clovis; three brothers, Benjamin Paiz of Bowie, Md., Tony Paiz of Brighton, Colo., and Fred Paiz of Omaha, Neb; three sisters, Sarah Gonzales and Doris Trent, both of Denver, and Mary Morales of Brighton; 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Amarillo Daily News, Oct. 17, 2000 Oklahoma Crockett Marion White GUYMON, Okla. - Crockett Marion White, 88, died Saturday, Oct. 14, 2000, in Fort Lyon, Colo. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday in Elkhart Cemetery at Elkhart, Kan., with the Rev. Don Chase, minister of First Christian Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Henson-Novak Funeral Directors. Mr. White was born in Alpine, Texas. He attended school in Erick, also at Panhandle A&M in Goodwell and earned his master's degree in elementary education from the University of Northern Colorado at Greeley, Colo. He taught school in Texhoma in the 1930s and 1940s. He served in the Marine Corps from 1943-46 and was an Oklahoma highway patrolman for several years before farming in the Elkhart area. In 1960 he began teaching in Cheyenne Wells, Colo., and later became a grade school principal in Sublette, Kan., until retiring in 1980. He married Violet Carter in 1961. She died in 1999. Survivors include four daughters, Phyllis Morgan of Guymon, Betty Jeanne Kaump of Napa, Calif., Rusty Carter of Lake Charles, La., and Jere Peters of Greensburg, Kan.; a brother, Robert White of Pahrump, Nev.; 15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Brown Funeral Directors Chapel of the Fountains with the Rev. Ronald E. Ellington, pastor of Trinity Church of the Nazarene, officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery. Mr. Ferguson was born in Fannin County and lived in Borger 61 years. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He had worked as a boilermaker for Local No. 531. He was a Nazarene and a member of the National Rifle Association. He married Doris Landers in 1938 at Quanah. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Steve Ferguson of Borger and Tommy Ferguson of Big Spring; two daughters, Delois Wallace of Urbana, Mo., and Carolyn Pittelko of Rochester, Minn.; a sister, Joyce Dean Scillian of Springfield, Mo.; 16 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. Armando Pinnales, pastor of New Beginnings Church, officiating. Interment of cremains will be private. Mr. Quintero was born in Hargill. He moved to Deaf Smith county in 1976 from McAllen. He was a farmer and a member of New Beginnings Church in Hereford. He married Frances Montano in 1993 at Hereford. Survivors include his wife; three sons; five stepsons; three brothers, Cruz Quintero of Dimmitt, Bobby Quintero of Hale Center and Raymond Quintero of Moriarty, N.M.; four sisters, Carmen Lopez of Springlake, Tommie Crowder of Dallas, Janie Quintero of Hale Center and Delia Aguirre of Plainview; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Amarillo Daily News, Oct. 17, 2000 Ethel Hillhouse MEMPHIS - Ethel Hillhouse, 91, died Saturday, Oct. 14, 2000. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Memphis Funeral Home Chapel with Tom Posey officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Mrs. Hillhouse was born in Biardstown. She earned bachelor's and master's degrees from East Texas State Teachers College. She taught for five years in Lamar County beginning in 1925, then in Delta County for five years before moving to West Texas and teaching at Pleasant Valley in Hall County for five years. During World War II she worked as a draftsman for North American Aviation and returned to teaching in Hall County in 1947. She served as principal at Travis and Austin elementary schools in Memphis until retiring in 1978. She served on the State of Texas School Book Selection Committee. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, Texas State Teachers Association and Memphis Little Theatre. Survivors include a sister, Juanita Scott of Cooper. He retired in 1976 and was a member of the St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church. He married Maria Santos Flores in 1942 at Hondo. Survivors include his wife; five sons, Domingo Luna and Freddie Luna, both of Vernon, Robert Luna and Frankie Luna, both of Floydada and Abran Luna of Erwin, N.C.; five daughters, Juanita Espinoza, Martha Gutierrez, Carmelita Rodriguez and Beatrice Luna, all of Floydada and Maria Garcia of Grand Rapids, Mich.; a sister, Refuja Armendariez of Crystal City; 59 grandchildren and 85 great-grandchildren. She was a homemaker and a Baptist. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Bonnie Bales, in 1977; by her second husband, James Sexton, in 1996; and by two sons, Jackie L. Bales in 1970 and Johnny J. Bales in 1969. Mrs. Cap was born in Garvin County, Oklahoma. She was a homemaker and a member of Muleshoe Church of Christ. She was a member of Order of the Eastern Star, the Progress Home Demonstration Club and had served as mother adviser for the Muleshoe Rainbow Girls Organization. She married Robert Ross Goodwin in 1934 at Hobart, Okla. He died in 1990. Survivors include three sons, Bobby Goodwin of Larkspur, Colo., Richard Goodwin of Overland Park, Kan., and Bill Goodwin of Celina, Kan.; a daughter, Jana Floyd of Amarillo; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Mr. Robison was born in Littlefield. He was a trucker driver for Top of Texas Millwrights and a member of Westway Baptist Church. He married Paula Beavers in 1992 at Hereford. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Constance Robison of the home and Tammy Welker of Benson, Ariz.: a son, Cody Wimberly of Hereford; his mother, Wanda Robison of Hereford; a brother, Steve Robison of Hereford; a sister, Brenda Patterson of Friona; and seven grandchildren.
