Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Warford-Walker Mortuary, 509 N. Hughes St. Mr. Wormley was born in Amarillo and had lived in Riverside, Calif., for 20 years. He attended Carver High School in Amarillo. Survivors include his mother, Lannesia Burns-Wormley of Amarillo. The family will be at 1302 N. Hughes St. Mrs. Emerson was born in Bienville Parrish County, La., and attended public schools in Clarksville. She had been a resident of Amarillo for many years and was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ben Emerson, in 1987. Survivors include two nieces, Pearlie Mae Herndon of Dallas and Norma Rose of Kemp; two nephews, Ben O'Neal Smith and Claude Smith, both of Gun Barrel City. The family will be at 1339 N.W. 13th Ave. Amarillo Daily News, Feb. 18, 2000 Theodore Norman Busch Theodore Norman Busch, 80, of Amarillo, died Thursday, Feb. 17, 2000. Services will be private. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle. Mr. Busch was born in Cleveland, Ohio. He owned Caswell Equipment Corp. in Minneapolis and was a consultant on shooting ranges for law enforcement and sports. He authored several technical textbooks for colleges. Mr. Busch previously had lived in Amarillo and returned in 1997. Survivors include a daughter, Kathy Busch Garcia of Houston; a granddaughter; and a special friend, Mildred Busch of Amarillo. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mrs. Andrew was born in Truby. Her quilting hung in the Johnson City, Mo., museum and she received a certificate from former Texas Gov. Ann Richards. She was a member of Bell Avenue Baptist Church. She married Frank Andrew in 1974 at Clovis, N.M. He died in 1985. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Dorothy Lee Drake, in 1929 and by a son, Floyd Drake, in 1995. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Groom. She married John Adler Brooks in 1944 at Salida, Colo. He died in 1974. The body will be donated to Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Lubbock. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home, 2800 S. Osage St. Mrs. Kelly was born in Bristol, Vt., and moved to Amarillo from California in 1974. She was a homemaker and member of North Amarillo Baptist Church. Her first marriage was in 1945 to Earnest Dumont. He died in 1986. She then married James Kelly in 1989. He died in 1999. Survivors include a daughter, Marjorie Loomis of Phoenix; three sons, Ralph Dumont, James Dumont and David Dumont, all of Amarillo; four step-daughters, Linda McGuire of Canyon and Tracy Jackson, Michelle Bailey and Sharon Delgado, all of Amarillo; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Mrs. Lewis was born in Phillips County, Colo., and moved to Amarillo in 1947. She was a member of Polk Street United Methodist Church. In 1995, she moved to Lubbock. Her first marriage was to David Allen Arterburn in 1939 at Holyoke, Colo. He died in 1968. In 1969, she married Alf A. Lewis at Amarillo. He died in 1994. Survivors include two sons, David Arterburn of Socorro, N.M., and Dick Arterburn of Graeagle, Calif.; a daughter, Dianne Peeples of Lubbock; a sister, Verna Johnson of Imperial, Neb.; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She retired as an Amarillo Globe-News distributor for Dumas, Perryton, Panhandle and Canyon. She also was employed as a nurse's aide for St. Ann's Nursing Center in Panhandle. In 1995, Mrs. Jenkins moved from Dumas to Amarillo where she was a member of Bell Avenue Baptist Church. She was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies' Auxiliary in Dumas. She married L.E. Jenkins Jr. in 1948 at Childress. He died Feb. 5. Survivors include a son, Larry Jenkins of Amarillo; a brother, J.D. Bruce of Longview; two sisters, Alta Lou Keesee of Bushland and Edna Brewer of Blair, Okla.; and two grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Bell Avenue Baptist Church. Mrs. White was born in Apperson, Okla., and moved to Hereford in 1994 from Meeker, Okla. A homemaker, she was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and Order of Eastern Star. She married Alvin White in 1945 at Borger. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Betty McGill of Amarillo; two sons, Wayne White of Hereford and David Merle White of Lakeland, Fla.; a sister, Hazel Humphrey of Borger; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Lakeview United Methodist Church with John Baird, minister of Lakeview United Methodist Church in Dalhart, officiating. Arrangements are by Hass Funeral Home in Dalhart. Mrs. Williams was born in Dalhart. She graduated from Dalhart High School in 1940 and attended West Texas State University. She was employed by Pioneer Natural Gas. Mrs. Williams was a member of Lakeview United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday school and was church treasurer. She was also a past member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. She married T.L. "Bill" Williams in 1953 in Amarillo. Survivors include her husband; a sister, Lucille Salter of Amarillo; nieces and nephews. Amarillo Daily News, Feb. 18, 2000 John D. Linville HEDLEY - John D. Linville, 84, died Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2000. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in First Baptist Church in Hedley with the Rev. Lewis Ellis of Lefors and the Rev. Bruce Howard, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Rowe Cemetery by Robertson Funeral Directors Inc. of Clarendon. Mr. Linville was born in Earl, Ark. He lived in Wellington and Clarendon before moving to Hedley in 1968. An Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, he was a member of the American Legion. In 1982, Mr. Linville retired as a mechanic. He served as a commodities volunteer and as the chairman of the Christmas Fund in Hedley. He was the last survivor of "Yesterday's Children" and was a Baptist. He married Della Houdashell in 1958 at Hedley. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Betty Vines of Fort Worth and Reatha Martin of Fort Worth; two stepdaughters, Loveta Anderson of Amarillo and Pat Hargrove of Hedley; a son, Johnny Harold Houdashell of Amarillo; a stepson, Ernie Houdashell of Amarillo; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; nine step-grandchildren; 13 step-great-grandchildren; and a step-great-great-grandchild. Amarillo Daily News, Feb. 18, 2000 Charmian Ayres Odom Lyle SPEARMAN - Charmian Ayres Odom Lyle, 95, died Thursday, Feb. 17, 2000. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Church of Christ with James Kinnard, minister, officiating. Burial will be in Gruver Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Spearman. Mrs. Lyle was born in Pontotoc County, Okla., and moved to Spearman 72 years ago from Callisburg. A farmer and a homemaker, she was a member of the Gruver Church of Christ. She owned the hotel and coffee shop in Gruver from 1944 until 1946. Her first marriage was in 1923 to Roy Odom who died in 1932. She married Carl Lyle in 1935. He died in 1958. Survivors include a daughter, Farene Williams of Gruver; a son, George Paul Odom of Gruver; two stepdaughters, Helen Smith of Amarillo and Evelyn Mae Cline of Tucson, Ariz.; a brother, I.W. Ayres Jr. of Spearman; three sisters, Vivian Green and Pauline Winger, both of Gruver, and Edith Bolantz of Dennison; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Gruver Church of Christ, Hansford Hospice or a favorite charity. Amarillo Daily News, Feb. 18, 2000 Oklahoma George E. Bates Jr. BOISE CITY, Okla. - George E. Bates Jr., 70, died Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2000. Services will be at 7 p.m. today in Boise City Christian Church with David Patterson officiating. Arrangements are by Cimarron Mortuary. Mr. Bates was born in Philadelphia where he was a longtime resident. As a child, he joined the First Baptist Church in Philadelphia, was active in Boy Scouts and played the piano and organ. As a young man, he drove a trolley car. Mr. Bates was a tool and die maker. He operated a ham radio and was a pilot of small planes. He moved to Boise City in 1991 where he was active in the Christian Church as a deacon and substitute preacher, and also helped with office work. He moved to Clayton, N.M., last year. He was preceded in death by a son, George Bates III. Survivors include a son, John Bates of Lake City, Pa.; a daughter, Janet McKinney of Maine; and seven grandchildren. Amarillo Daily News, Feb. 18, 2000 Ruby P. Prater GUYMON, Okla. - Ruby P. Prater, 81, died Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2000. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Victory Memorial United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ryan Prater, youth minister of Pioneer Baptist Church in Abilene, Texas, officiating. Interment will be in Elmhurst Cemetery by Henson-Novak Funeral Directors of Guymon. Mrs. Prater was born in McComb. She was a member of the First Baptist Church. As a care giver, she did nursing at Dunaway Manor and Memorial Hospital and to many individuals. The Prater family lived at Phillips Sherhan Plant, south of Guymon, until moving to Guymon in 1963. She was active in the church organized at the Sherhan plant. She married G.T. Prater in 1936 at Hominy. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1992, and two sons, Johnny Thomas Prater and Tommy Joe Prater. Survivors include a daughter, Peggy Lee Bozarth of San Angelo, Texas; three sons, Donald Ray "Donnie" Prater of Tulia, Texas, and Leslie Guy and Sammy Dean Prater, both of Guymon; a sister, Thelma Prater of Guymon; two brothers, Vic Robinett and Bob Robinett of Guymon; six grandchildren; and a great grandson. Burial will be in West Newton Cemetery in West Newton, Pa., by Muffley Funeral Home of Clovis. Mr. Reynolds was born in Madison, Pa., and moved to Clovis in 1973. He was a self-employed auto mechanic and former owner of Don's Carwash. He was a member of Parkland Baptist Church and a former Mason. He married Agnes D. Knight in 1939 at Industry, Pa. Survivors include his wife; a son, John D. Reynolds of Clovis; a sister, Clara Grace Hoffman of Greensburg, Pa.; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
