Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mrs. Ritz was born in Anadarko, Okla. She had worked as an inspector for Levi Strauss and IBP inc. She attended the Harvest Life Center and was active in the Jan Werner Adult Day Care Center. Survivors include four sons, Elmer Eugene Askins Jr., Calvin Askins, Robert Lynn Askins and Joe L. Ritz Jr., all of Amarillo; three daughters, Theresa Askins and Tammie Ritz, both of Amarillo, and Marie Ritz of Walnut Springs; a sister, Velma Roe of Springdale, Ark.; a brother, Ernest Garrett of Casper, Wyo.; 14 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Webb was born in Meridian. She moved to Amarillo from Hedley in 1938. She was a homemaker and a member of the Pleasant Valley Methodist Church and the Pleasant Valley Rebekah Lodge. She married Doyce Thomas "Pete" Webb at Harmon, Okla. He died in 1980. She also was preceded in death by two sons, Jerald Wayne Webb, in 1940 and John Calvin Webb, in 1945. Survivors include two daughters, Dorothy Pace of Burnet and Jerrie Dickey of Midlothian; two sons, Charles Webb of Canyon and Terry Webb of Granite Shoals; three sisters, Mary Proctor of Irving, Amy Nobolitt of Devine and Boots Morgan of Hawkins; a brother, Short Waddell of Amarillo; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Cal Farley's Boys Ranch. Amarillo Daily News, Nov. 18, 2000 Edward Lee Bagot Edward Lee Bagot, 54, of Amarillo, died Thursday, Nov. 16, 2000. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in First Presbyterian Church with Dr. Murray Gossett, associate pastor, officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle. Mr. Bagot was born in Amarillo and was a lifelong resident. He graduated from Amarillo High School in 1964. In 1968 he graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington, where he had been captain of the swim team, won two gold medals at the NCAA swimming finals, and was named All-American Swimmer. He was vice president and financial adviser for Morgan Stanley Dean Witter. He also served as financial adviser for the Junior League of Amarillo and the Panhandle-Plains Historical Society. He was a member of the Amarillo Gun Club board and the First Presbyterian Church. Mr. Bagot married Dana Hampton in 1995 at Amarillo. Survivors include his wife; a son, Hayden Edward Curtis Bagot of the home; his mother, Mary C. Bagot of Amarillo; two brothers, Joe T. Bagot of Amarillo and Andrew W. She was a member of the Polk Street United Methodist Church and was past president of the co-workers Sunday school class. She was a past member of the Amarillo Garden Club. She married Grady Burson in 1925 at Plainview. He died in 1984. Survivors include a son, Jim C. He retired as staff sergeant from the Air Force. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a Baptist. He married Glennda Atkins in 1997 at Amarillo. He was a member of the Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Mrs. Diaz was born in Moses, N.M. She moved to Amarillo in 1947. She was a homemaker. Mr. Diaz married Andrita Trujillo in 1977 at Amarillo. They were members of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. She moved from Mangum, Okla., to Amarillo in 1955. She was a secretary at Bykota Baptist Church, retiring in 1993. She also attended Golden Pathways Church. She married Earl E. Hurst in 1955 at Amarillo. He died in 1990. Survivors include two sons, Earl Eugene Hurst II and Raymond Lewis Hurst, both of Amarillo; a sister, Joy Gable of Roseburg, Ore.; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Wright Charles E. Wright, 78, of Canyon, died Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2000, in Amarillo. Memorial services are being held by the family at 4 p.m. Monday in First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Dr. Don McDonald, pastor, officiating. Private interment at Dreamland Cemetery. Cremation arrangements are by Brooks Funeral Directors. Mr. Wright was born in Murphysboro, Ill. He graduated from Murphysboro High School and earned a bachelor's degree in biology at Carthage College in Carthage, Ill. He earned his master's degree at the University of Illinois at Urbana, Ill., and did post graduate work at the University of Oklahoma. He served in the Army with the Air Transport Command in Africa and Arabia, during World War II. In 1948 he moved to Canyon, where he taught in the science department at West Texas State University. He retired in 1987. He founded the WTSU chapter of Beta Beta Beta, the National Honorary Biology Fraternity. He received National Science Foundation grants for research at Oregon State University, Florida State University, University of North Carolina, and Oak Ridge, Tenn. Mr. Wright was a member, a deacon, an elder, and a clerk of the session of the First Presbyterian Church in Canyon. He was a member of the Kiwanis Club in Canyon. He performed in the musical drama "Texas." He married Chloe Norris in 1947 at Ada, Okla. Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Rebecca Fox of Cornwall, England, Deborah Toon of Galveston and Melissa Priest of Denver; a brother, Jim Wright of Murphysboro; and eight grandchildren. "Bill" Bennett, 79, died Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2000. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today in Mission Garden of Memories with Dr. James Burk officiating. Military honors will be rendered by Cannon Air Force Base Honor Guard. Arrangements are by Steed-Todd Funeral Home. Mr. Bennett was born in Denver. He served 30 years in the Air Force, retiring as a chief master sergeant. He was a member of the Desert Cruisers Auto Club. Survivors include her husband, Michael Jones; five sons, Alvey Bass of Gardendale, Glenn Edd Bass of De Berry, Ernest Bass of Amarillo, Wendell Bass of Austin and Cletus Bass of Tulsa, Okla.; two daughters, LaVada Silva of Amarillo, and Rebecca McBride of Marshall; 12 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Miss Walker was born in Honey Grove and was a longtime resident of the Memphis area. She received a bachelor's degree from Hardin-Simmons University and her master's degree from West Texas State College. She taught school for 44 years, 32 years were for the Memphis Independent School District. She served in the Army during World War II. She was a Baptist and a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma teacher's sorority. Survivors include two sisters, Mary Catherine Higginbotham of Austin and Peggy May of Amarillo. Burial will be in Lockney Cemetery at Lockney by Wood-Dunning Funeral Home. Mr. Bayley was born in Mitchell, S.D. He moved to the Happy Union community south of Plainview in 1917. He attended schools at Happy Union and Plainview. He also attended Lippert's Business College. He had lived in Plainview, Lockney, Petersburg, Lubbock and Amarillo. He farmed in Floyd and Hale counties. In 1966 he began working for Texas Refinery Corp. as an employee salesman. Mr. Bayley married Gaynelle Smith in 1937 at Lubbock. He was preceded in death by a son, Dan Bayley of Lockney. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Pat Dicuffa of Brian; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She married William Edward Lambright in 1940 at Clovis, N.M. She was preceded in death by a son, William Edward Lambright, in 1984.
