Amarillo Daily News, April 19, 2000 Oklahoma Reuben Marvin Bryan GUYMON, Okla. - Reuben Marvin "Jack" Bryan, 94, died Monday, April 17, 2000. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Guymon First Baptist Church with Rev. John Goss, of Adams officiating. Burial will be in Elmhurst Cemetery by Henson-Novak Funeral Directors. Mr. Bryan was born near Leedey in Oklahoma Territory and in 1908 moved to the Oklahoma Panhandle near Bryan's Corner. He attended country schools and finished high school in Goodwell. He graduated from Panhandle A&M College in 1930. He taught school and was a coach in Felt, where he also served as superintendent. He was superintendent in Keyes and Yarbrough and a principal at Hooker. Mr. Bryan was county superintendent in Cimarron and Texas counties. He retired from the school system in 1972 and settled in Guymon. He was honored in 1994 at the Pioneer Day parade. He was a member of the Guymon Lions Club and Guymon First Baptist Church, where he taught Sunday school and a Bible class. He married Ruth Agnes McBryde in 1930 at Liberal, Kan. He and his wife organized the Retired Teacher's Organization for Texas and Cimarron counties, and were recognized as "Special Teachers of Oklahoma." She died in 1998. He also was preceded in death by an infant son, Donald Charles Bryan. Survivors include three sons, Jack Boyd Bryan of Duncanville, Texas; David Robert "Bob" Bryan of Ponca City and Pat Marvin Bryan of Edmond; a brother, William J. Bryan of Balko; a sister, Della Bryan of Amarillo, Texas; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Dunaway Manor. Cremation arrangements are by Chapel of Angels Funeral Home. Mr. Horne was born in Hillsboro. He graduated from Lubbock High School in 1962. He had lived in Amarillo and worked in the construction business. He moved to Tahlequah, Okla., in 1992. He earned a bachelor's degree in science at North Eastern State University in 1998. He married Patricia Ann Stanford in 1964. Survivors include four daughters, Jayme Lee Ann Studer, Sherry Marie Larkan, Joann Elaine Florez and Heather Mae Horne, all of Amarillo; his mother, Marjorie McDonald Horne of Lubbock; a sister, Sheena Buckmaster of Lubbock; a brother, Lance Horne of Lubbock; and seven grandchildren. John Valdez, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Mr. Ebenkamp was born in Penalosa, Kan., and had lived in Pampa since 1958. During World War II he was a first lieutenant in the Army Air Corps. He worked for Getty Oil, retiring in 1983 as field supervisor. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Pampa Senior Citizens, St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and the Frank Keim Council Knights of Columbus. Mr. Ebenkamp married Mary Ann Panek in 1947 at St. Leo, Kan. Survivors include his wife; six sons, Ronald "Ron" Ebenkamp of Albuquerque, N.M., Michael "Mickey" Ebenkamp of Leawood, Kan., Robert "Bob" Ebenkamp and Allen Ebenkamp, both of Amarillo, and Mark Ebenkamp and Kevin Ebenkamp, both of Pampa; five sisters, Lucy Rohling of Cunningham, Kan., Elanora Rohling and Sister Mary Cassian, both of Wichita, Kan., Mary Anna Urban of Larned, Kan., and Martha Strong of Nashville, Kan.; and 11 grandchildren. Burial will be in Lane Memorial Cemetery by Morrison Funeral Directors of Dumas. Mr. Meeks was born in Center Valley, Ark., and lived in Sunray since 1941. He was a contract welder. He worked for Diamond Shamrock. He retired in 1980. He worked for Texas Oil and Gas for five years after he retired. He was a member of the Sunray Masonic Lodge and Sunray Baptist Church. He married Lora Bell Meeks in 1936 at Greenwood, Ark. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Mary Ann Meeks-Wilson of Colorado Springs, Colo.; a son, Don Meeks of Broken Arrow, Okla.; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Mr. Morrison was born in Gasoline. He attended Gasoline schools and graduated from Quitaque High School. He moved to Cactus in 1946 to work for Phillips Petroleum and returned to Quitaque in 1948 to farm. He served on the school board nine years and the Quitaque City Council 20 years. He was a member of the Quitaque Lions Club, the Briscoe County Historical Commission and the Quitaque Church of Christ. He married Johnnie Eddleman in 1940 at Lubbock. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Murry Wayne Morrison of Lubbock, Bobo Morrison of Quitaque and Joe Morrison of Amarillo; a daughter, Neva Dale Spier of Clarendon; two sisters, Dale Setliff and Pat Lane, both of Plainview; seven grandchildren; and nine greatgrandchildren. He moved to Plainview in 1947 and farmed in Plainview and Halfway. He was a past member of Plainview Elks Lodge and Bells and Beau's square dance club. He was a member of Ninth and Columbia Church of Christ. He married Adell Skinner in 1939 at Grand Saline. He was preceded in death by a son, Ronnie Lee Thompson in 1998. She attended Texas Tech University and earned her master's degree in 1999. Mrs. Schaefer was born in Cameron. She moved to Deaf Smith County in 1929 from Ralls. She was a homemaker and member of First Baptist Church. She married Arthur Brock in 1921. He died in 1982. She also was preceded in death by two sons, Joe Brock in 1960 and Clyde Brock in 1989. She married Bill Schaefer in 1985 at Hereford. He died in 1994.
