Services will be at 11 a.m. today in Grace Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Connie Nieto officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park Cemetery by Wood-Dunning Funeral Home. Mrs. Frye was born in Greencastle, Mo., and moved to Plainview in 1915. In 1932, she graduated from Plainview High School, where she was elected Best All Around Girl her senior year. She was a charter member of Grace Presbyterian Church, where she was the first church historian. She married Walter Frye in 1932 at Sayre, Okla. Her daughter, Jeanne Carolyn Gaither, died in 1994. Survivors include her husband; a son, Joe Billy Frye of Plainview; two sisters, Shirley Brownlee and Margaret Foust, both of Plainview; seven grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Amarillo Daily News June 19, 2000 Earline Estep PLAINVIEW - Earline Estep, 90, died Friday, June 16, 2000, in Grapevine. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in First United Methodist Church Chapel with Dr. Max Browning officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Lemons Funeral Home. Mrs. Estep was born in McGregor and graduated from Hale Center schools. A retired sales clerk, she was an RSVP volunteer and a member of First United Methodist Church of Plainview, where she was president of her Sunday school class. She married Milard Milton Estep in 1930 at Plainview. He died in 1991. She was also preceded in death by two sons, Milton Estep and Clinton Estep. Survivors include two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Amarillo Daily News June 19, 2000 Norma Jean Caylor PLAINVIEW - Norma Jean Caylor, 67, died Sunday, June 18, 2000. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Wood-Dunning Funeral Home Colonial Chapel with the Rev. Don Robertson, pastor of College Heights Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park. Mrs. Caylor was born in Canton. In 1945, she moved to Plainview, where she worked for City National Bank and Caylor Auto Parts. She was a member of College Heights Baptist Church. She married Jerry Caylor in 1948 at Fort Sumner, N.M. Survivors include her husband; a son, Mike Caylor of Denton; a sister, Joyce Spears of Lampasas; and a grandchild. Amarillo Daily News June 19, 2000 Wilma Seipp PLAINVIEW - Wilma Seipp, 79, died Sunday, June 18, 2000. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in First United Methodist Church with Dr. Max Browning officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by WoodDunning Funeral Home. Mrs. Seipp was born in Harrison, Ark., and graduated from Cotton Center High School in 1940. Reared in Iowa and Missouri, she moved to Texas in 1937. For 59 years, she lived in Plainview, where she was a member of First United Methodist Church and the Gladys Carter Women's Group. She was past worthy matron of the Order of Eastern Star and taught school at Hart during the early 1940s. She married James Seipp in 1943 at Grass Valley, Calif. He died in 1996. Survivors include a son, Randy Seipp of Plainview; two brothers, Delbert T. Hewett of Susanville, Calif., and Ernest Hewett of Redding, Calif.; a twin sister, Wilda Hutcherson Redin of Plainview; and three grandchildren. Amarillo Daily News June 19, 2000 Amarillo Claude Scott Claude "Sandy" Scott, 55, of Amarillo, died Wednesday, June 14, 2000. Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Mount Olive Baptist Church with the Rev. V.P. Perry, pastor, officiating. Cremation will be by Memory Gardens Crematory. Arrangements are by Warford-Walker Mortuary, 509 N. Hughes. Mr. Scott was born in Crockett and attended Hilltop Elementary School and Carver High School. He was a former railroad employee and laborer. Survivors include two sons, Calvin Scott and Christopher Scott, both of St. Paul, Minn.; two daughters, Tamara Scott of Knoxville, Tenn., and Carmen Scott of Oklahoma City; two stepdaughters, Shawn Moore of Dallas and Eugenia Moore of Amarillo; three sisters, Rita Rector, Stacy Jones, and Jockyln Jones, all of Amarillo; four brothers, William Scott and Thomas Jones, both of Amarillo, Ralph Scott of Jacksonville, Fla., and Leonard Jones of Odessa; stepfather, Pete Jones of Amarillo; and nine grandchildren. The family will be at 3117 Redwood. Amarillo Daily News June 19, 2000 Lillian Irene Veazey Lillian Irene Veazey, 102, of Amarillo, died Thursday, June 15, 2000. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church with the Rev. Tommy Ewing and the Rev. Landrum Medlock officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mrs. Veazey was born in Clarksville, Ark., and had lived in Amarillo since 1942. A Tri-State Fair arts and crafts blue ribbon winner, she was a charter member of Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church. She moved to Bivins Memorial Nursing Home in 1982. She married Neely B. Veazey in 1916 at Clarendon. He died in 1961. Survivors include four daughters, Ellen Brown of Amarillo, Vivian Dysart of Rogers, Ark., Louise Mott of Bowie, Md., and Frances Browning of Jacksonville, Ark.; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and three great-greatgrandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to the Memorial Fund at Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church, 316 Valley, Amarillo, TX 79108-4634. Amarillo Daily News June 19, 2000 John Allen Smith Jr. John Allen Smith Jr., 37, of Amarillo, died Friday, June 16, 2000. No services are scheduled. Cremation was by Rector Funeral Home, 2800 S. Osage St. Mr. Smith was born in Beatrice, Neb., and moved to Amarillo in 1988 from Oklahoma. He worked for Mayfield Roofing. Survivors include a daughter, Paige Marie Smith of Lubbock; a son, John Allen Smith III of Lubbock; his mother and stepfather, Kathern and Gary Drerup of Amarillo; two sisters, Laura Pruitt of Amarillo and Jessie Smith of Round Lake, Ill.; and a brother, Samie Smith of Fort Worth. The body will not be available for viewing. Amarillo Daily News June 19, 2000 Melvin F. Anderson Melvin F. Anderson, 96, of Amarillo, died Saturday, June 17, 2000. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in N.S. Griggs & Sons Funeral Directors, Pioneer Chapel, 2615 Paramount Blvd., with the Rev. John F. McClean of St. Paul United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow at 2 p.m. in Rose Hill Cemetery at Tulia. Mr. Anderson was born in Desdemona. A veteran of the Marine Corps, he retired from Amarillo Hardware. He was a member of the Amarillo Senior Citizens and Trinity Methodist Church. He married Lucile Rousser in 1938 at Tulia. She died in 1990. His grandson, Ryan Woods, died in 1998. Survivors include a daughter, Anita Woods of Amarillo; and two grandchildren. The family will be at 1309 Callahan and suggests memorials be to a favorite charity. Amarillo Daily News June 19, 2000
