Services are at 10 a.m. Friday in Childress Church of Christ with Bill Mayes officiating. Burial will be in Childress Cemetery by Johnson Funeral Home. Mrs. Edmondson was born in Childress. She married J.A. Edmondson Sr. in 1928. They traveled in 27 states building water towers during World War II. In 1944, she and her husband built and operated many of the Helpy Selfy laundries in Childress and surrounding area. She moved to Amarillo and worked at White & Kirk, and later returned to Childress. She was a member of Childress Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1984. Survivors include two sons, George Edmondson of Garland and Don Edmondson of Childress; a sister, Oleta officiating. Burial will be in the Heart Cemetery by Good Samaritan Funeral Home. Mr. Hardy was born in Ardmore, Okla. He moved to Booker in 1970 and graduated from high school in 1976. He attended Frank Phillips College and Texas Tech. He was employed as a dispatcher of the Swift Transportation Company in Dallas. He was a golfer and member of the Booker Golf Team which won state championship in 1974. Survivors include a son, Brett Hardy of Dallas; a daughter, Julie Hardy of Dallas; his mother, Ellen of Booker; his father and stepmother, Robert and Claudine Hardy of Spearman; two sisters, Johnanna Dear and Lynne Brock, both of Perryton; and his grandmother, Dollie Summers of Ardmore. Amarillo Daily News, April 20, 2000 Billy Wayne Sheppard PLAINVIEW - Billy Wayne Sheppard, 70, died Tuesday, April 18, 2000, in Amarillo. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Plainview Family Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. Shawn Fouts, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Cemetery by Bartley-Silva Funeral Home. Mr. Sheppard was born in Plainview. He served in the military during the Korean conflict. He had owned and operated R.H. Sheppard and Son Concrete. He was a member of Plainview Family Church of the Nazarene. He married Dorothy Jean Tyler in 1950 at Clovis, N.M. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Karen Jean Todd of Fredricksburg; and six sons, Michael Wayne Sheppard, Kim Eugene Sheppard and Alan Jay Sheppard, all of Dennison, Terry Brian Sheppard of Oklahoma City and Dennis Ray Sheppard and Phillip Wade Sheppard, both of Plainview; two sisters, Adrienne Walker of Bella Vista, Ark., and Nadine Burchfield of Carrollton; two brothers, James Edward Sheppard of Austin and Harold Maurice Sheppard of Dennison; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Amarillo Daily News, April 20, 2000 Elmer Neel MEMPHIS - Elmer Neel, 75, died Tuesday, April 18, 2000. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in First Baptist Church with Rev. O.K. Bowen and Rev. Rick Music officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery by Memphis Funeral Home. Mr. Neel was born in Collingsworth County. He attended schools in Quail and Memphis. He had been the chief deputy of the Hall County Sheriff's office from 1954 until 1962 when he was appointed to serve as sheriff. He had served as sheriff until 1980, when he retired. He had served with Memphis Volunteer Fire Dept. and had spent time with his cattle operations for the last few years. Survivors include his wife, Wanda Neel; three sons, Earnest Neel of Memphis; Clarence Neel of West Fork, Ark., and Chester Neel of Anderson, Ark.; a stepson, Mike Webster of Hereford; a sister, Ruby Fielding of Quail; and five grandchildren. She had lived in the McLean area for most of her life. She was a homemaker and member of the McLean Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by a son, E.B. Durham, in 1990. She was a laundry attendant in the dry-cleaning industry. She was a member of San Jacinto Baptist Church. She married L.J. Quillin in 1955 at Amarillo. He died in 1985. Survivors include a daughter, Jo Ann Winters of Ovalo; a son, Jerry McCracken of Lubbock; a sister, Henry Lea Dooley of Dumas; two brothers, Son Golightly of Pensacola, Fla., and Don R. She moved to Amarillo in 1981 from Louisiana. She attended Amarillo College. She was a member of the Amarillo Multiple Sclerosis Association; La Leche League; and the Panhandle Professional Writers Club. She was a member of the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. Survivors include a daughter, Yvonne Boudreaux of White Hall, Pa.; a son, Derek Boudreaux of White Hall; her mother, Jean Murray of Amarillo; her father, Alan Goerlitz of Copperas Cove; three brothers, Mark Goerlitz of Perkinston, Miss., Eric Goerlitz of Westville, Ill., and Kevin Goerlitz of Centreville, Va. Amarillo Daily News, April 20, 2000 New Mexico Donald Crowley CLOVIS, N.M. - Donald Crowley, 69, died Monday, April 17, 2000. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. today in Elks Lodge No. 1244 with past Exalted Rulers of the lodge officiating. Arrangements are by Steed-Todd Funeral Home. Mr. Crowley was born in Oxford, Kan. He moved to Clovis in 1946 and graduated from Clovis High School in 1950. He joined the Air Force in 1950 and retired in 1970. He was a machinist and worked for the Santa Fe Railway until his retirement in 1988. He was a member of the Elks Lodge No. 1244 and the American Legion Post No. 77 in Logan. He also supported the Elks Lodge in Tucumcari and BPO Does No. 108 in Clovis. He was a Baptist. He married Rosalie McCoy in 1952 at Amarillo. He was preceded in death by a son, Jack Crowley, in 1989. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Cherrie Crowley-Arries of Tijeras; a brother, Ronald Stinson of Carlsbad; a sister, Rosella Shoemate of Clovis; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Wednesday in Steed-Todd Funeral Home Chapel. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in the funeral home with the Rev. Tim Hiller and Joe Smith officiating. Burial will be in Mission Garden of Memories. Mr. Cristan was born in Littlefield, Texas. He was a cement finisher. Survivors include four sons, David Rodriguez and Theodore Cristan, both of Clovis, Tony Cristan of Belen and Joseph Cristan of Amarillo; four daughters, Sonia Lopez of Clovis, Patricia Cayax of Aurora, Colo., and Melissa Wiseman and Michelle Pacheco, both of Amarillo; his father, Jose Cristan of Littlefield; five brothers, Joe Cristan and Chevo Cristan, both of Fort Worth, Texas, Daniel Cristan of San Antonio, Texas, Pete Cristan of Littlefield and Felipe Cristan of Arizona; a sister, Juanita Smith of Barstow, Calif.; and 19 grandchildren.
