Baldock FARWELL - M.O. Baldock, 89, died Monday, Jan. 17, 2000. Services were at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Wheeler Mortuary Chapel at Portales, N.M., with Wayne Venable officiating. Burial was in Floyd Cemetery at Floyd, N.M. Mr. Baldock was born in Krum. He lived in Snyder, Okla., before moving to Farwell then lived in Colorado for 10 years. In 1947, he moved to the Floyd community, where he farmed until 1970. He was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church. He married Sally Shelley in 1934 at Mountain Park, Okla. She died in 1986. Survivors include two sons, Jessie Baldock of San Benito and Lester Baldock of Amarillo; a daughter, Barbara Rector of Corpus Christi; two brothers, Walter Baldock of Clovis, N.M., and Gerald Baldock of Espanola, N.M.; two sisters, Tenny House of Bloomfield, N.M., and Juanita Bennett of Maryville, Mo.; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Scott Willingham of the church officiating. Burial will be in Dumas Cemetery by Morrison Funeral Directors. Mrs. Adams was born in Slidell and had lived in Dumas since 1952. A resident of Moore County since 1944, she was a homemaker and member of First Baptist Church. As a member of the Woodman's Circle, she was involved with the Laotian Mission. She married L.H. Adams in 1934 at Memphis. He died in 1980. Survivors include two daughters, Helen Jane Thompson of Tehachapi, Calif., and Billie Nell Weatherall of Lubbock; a son, Samuel M. Adams of Durant, Okla.; two brothers, Forrest D. Pollard and Bob Pollard, both of Dumas; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. in Fairview Cemetery in Durham, Okla., by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Perryton. Mr. Riley was born in Crawford, Okla., and moved to Perryton from Durham in 1934. He was a Conoco wholesaler and service station operator. Mr. Riley was a member of First Christian Church, was a 32nd Degree Mason and member of the Scottish Rite. In 1993, he received his 50-year Masonic pin. He married Margaret Watson in 1933 at Elk City, Okla. She died in 1997. He was a farmer who was a member of the First Baptist Church and was a 50-year Mason. He married Angela Monk in 1992 at Stinnett. He was preceded in death by a son, Eddie Campbell, in 1992. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Roaring Springs. She married Emmitt McKeen in 1973 at Pampa. He died in 1989. Mr. Bilbrey was born in Olustee, Okla., and attended schools in Hollis, Okla., where he graduated from high school. He lived in Lockney for 20 years and he was a police officer. In 1992, he retired as Justice of the Peace in Floydada. Mr. Bilbrey moved to Floydada in 1969. He was a veteran of the Marines. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Floydada and Hollis Baptist Church. He married Wanda Joye Pence in 1948 at Childress. She died in 1997. Amarillo Daily News, Jan. 20, 2000 New Mexico Ruth Lindley CLOVIS, N.M. - Ruth Lindley, 97, formerly of Clovis, died Monday, Jan. 17, 2000, in Denver City, Texas. Services will be at 10 a.m. today in Steed-Todd Funeral Home Chapel with Darren Skinner officiating. Burial will be in Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Lindley was born in Indian Territory. She married Roy Lindley in 1920 and they raised her three younger brothers. They moved to the Clovis area in 1932 and began farming east of Cannon Air Force Base. They retired in the mid1950s and moved to town. She was a charter member of Trinity Methodist Church and was a longtime member of the Center Extension Club. She won many ribbons at the Curry County and New Mexico State fairs for tatting, crocheting and embroidery. Mrs. Lindley was preceded in death by her husband. Survivors include sisters-in-law, Doris Smith of Sandpoint, Idaho, Wanda Smith of Denver City and Bobby Joe Smith of Houston. Mrs. Riddle was a longtime Tucumcari resident, moving here in 1963. She was a homemaker and a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Riddle, in 1999. When he was 19, he moved to Clovis and became a cattleman. He had a ranch in the Ranchvale area. A member of the New Mexico Cattleman's Association, he was one of five ranchers to receive the "Excellence in Grazing Award." Mr. Merrill was a charter member of Parkland Baptist Church. He also was a supporter of Hart's Youth Ranch. He married Mildred Bliss in 1945. Survivors include his wife; a son, Lester Merrill of Clovis; four grandsons; three step-grandchildren; and 13 greatgrandchildren. Mr. Carter retired as captain after 30 years of active duty with the Coast Guard. She worked for the Canyon Independent School District in food service. A homemaker, Mrs. Doss was a member and played the piano at Ridgecrest Baptist Church and Mescalero Baptist Church. She married Bobby Jack Doss in 1950 at Tell. He died in 1992. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Juana Beth Doss, in 1959. He also was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and Crown of Texas Hospice. He married Dorothy Jane Jones in 1941. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1995 and by a son, Gary Kinard, in 1948. Survivors include three daughters, Anna Dunn and Rita Cantwell, both of Amarillo, and Jeana Hutton of Canyon; six grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter. The family will be at 3900 Paramount. Entombment will be in Memorial Park Mausoleum North. Mr. Smith was born in Hamlin and grew up in Cisco. During World War II, he served in the Army Air Corps. He worked for Gulf Oil as a driller in the Persian Gulf from 1957 until 1959 when he moved to Amarillo from Odessa. From 1960 until his retirement in 1981, he worked for ICX Motor Freight. After his retirement, he worked for ERA Century 21 Realty. Mr. Smith was a member of Highland Baptist Church, Amarillo Masonic Lodge No. 731, Teamsters Union and the Amarillo Board of Realtors. He married Doris D. Richardson in 1951 at Roswell, N.M. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Lynn Hansen of Glorieta, N.M., and Sherri Whitaker of Amarillo; three sisters, Martha June Dorrell of Vidor, Frances Cornelius of Cisco and Charlotte Welborn of Burleson; a brother, Johnny Smith of Brownwood; and seven grandchildren.
