Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Trinity Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert Brown, pastor, and the Rev. Jim Green, pastor of Progress Baptist Church at Progress, officiating. Burial will be in Muleshoe Memorial Park Cemetery by Ellis Funeral Home. Mrs. Seagroves was born in Franklin County and moved to Muleshoe from Abilene in 1944. She was a homemaker and had worked as a cook in the cafeteria at Muleshoe High School. Before she became a member of Trinity Baptist Church, she was a member of Longview Baptist Church. She married Stanley Seagroves in 1939 at Abilene. He died in 1993. Survivors include two sons, James Howard Seagroves of Muleshoe and Robert Stanley Seagroves of Childress; a daughter, Gayle Ann Richerson of Clovis, N.M.; nine grandchildren; and 13 greatgrandchildren. Amarillo Daily News Feb. 21, 2000 Bertha Spann McGaugh PLAINVIEW - Bertha Spann McGaugh, 97, died Saturday, Feb. 19, 2000. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Seth Ward Baptist Church with the Rev. Jim Ritter, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Kress Cemetery at Kress by Lemons Funeral Home. Mrs. McGaugh was born in Hall County. She moved to Kress, where she attended schools. In 1968, she moved to the Seth Ward Community in Plainview. She was a member of Seth Ward Baptist Church. She married Fred Spann in 1922 at Kress. He died in 1928. She married J.J. "Jude" McGaugh in 1929. He died in 1967. She was also preceded in death by an infant daughter and two grandsons. Survivors include five daughters, Dorothy Yarbrough and Johnnie Norrell, both of Plainview, Addie Hostetler of Plano, Ella Heath of Midland and Betty White of Islamorada, Fla.; a sister, Mary Blackshear of Mountain Aire, N.M.; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. The family suggests, in lieu of flowers, memorials be to Meals on Wheels of Seth Ward Baptist Church. Amarillo Daily News Feb. 21, 2000 Clyda Reagan TULIA - Clyda "Nell" Reagan, 75, died Sunday, Feb. 20, 2000. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Rose Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Chris Craig, chaplain of Vista Care Family Hospice, officiating. Arrangements are by Wallace Funeral Home. Mrs. Reagan was born in Trenton. In 1927, she moved to the family farm in the Tulia area and attended schools in Tulia. During World War II, she worked at Douglass Aircraft in California and returned to Tulia in 1947. She was a homemaker and a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She married T.G. Reagan in 1948 at Tulia. He died in 1971. Her son, Tim Reagan, died in 1976. Survivors include two sons, David Reagan of Silverton and Tilman Reagan of Plainview; a brother, J.D. Muirhead of Hayward, Calif.; a half sister, Charlene Muirhead of Tulia; and four grandchildren. Mrs. Ashburn was born in Tuxedo and moved to the Hale Center area in 1946. She was a nurse for Hi-Plains Hospital, and she worked for Hi-Plains Pharmacy. She was a member of Order of Eastern Star. She married A.J. Ashburn in 1944 at Stamford. Survivors include her husband; a son, Jackson Ashburn of Lubbock; a brother, Herbert Meads of Avoca; and two grandchildren. He attended schools in Millville, W.V., graduated from high school in Fairmont, and attended Fairmont State College at Fairmont. He served with the Army from 1948 until 1952 and was a member of the local chapter of the American Legion. Until his retirement, he worked in the oil field industry. He married Mary Ramos in 1979. He was a member of Bible Baptist Church. He married Alma Jean Henry in 1943 at Ashdown, Ark. His daughter, Phyllis McDonald, died in 1999. Mr. Johnson was born in Bristol, Okla., and moved to Pampa in 1946 from Port Arthur. During World War II, he served with the Coast Guard. He sold and repaired used appliances, was an auctioneer for the Price Road Auction Company, and retired from Skelly Oil Company. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. He married Bobbie Johnson in 1944 at Port Arthur. She died in 1994. Survivors include a daughter, Lea Laycock of Lubbock; three sons, Tommy Johnson of Billings, Mont., Chris Johnson of Childress, and Mark Johnson of Pampa; two sisters, Vera Darling of Pampa and Virginia Reeve of Kenai, Alaska; two brothers, Robert Lee Johnson of Selma, Calif., and Homer Johnson of Levelland; and seven grandchildren. Mrs. Shaffer was born in Silverton, graduated from Silverton High School, and moved to the area 56 years ago. From 1948 until 1968, she operated the Credit Bureau of Perryton in her home. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. She married Frank Shaffer in 1937 at Silverton. He died in 1995. Survivors include two sons, Keith Shaffer and Rick Shaffer, both of Guymon; seven grandchildren; and five greatgrandchildren. He farmed in the Haylake Community until moving to Quitaque in 1947. In 1961, he built Cottonwood Lake on his farm in Quitaque, and he was Conservationist of the Year in 1969. He was a Mason. His grandson, Shane Smith, preceded him in death. He married Anna Mae Martin in 1939 at Amarillo. Mr. Carson was born in Medicine Bow, Mont. He moved to Texhoma, Texas, from Tulia in 1969. He worked with racing horses and was a general laborer.
