She lived in White Deer from 1970 to 1985, when she moved to Denton. She married Gerry Punches in 1970 at White Deer. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Ian Punches of Cleburne and Jeremy Punches of Denton; a brother, Peter Headicar of London; a sister, Jean Bates of Auckland, New Zealand; and four grandchildren. Arrangements were by Myers-Long Funeral Directors of Turkey. Mrs. Crump was born in Morris, Okla. She taught in area schools for 48 years. She was a member of the Church of Christ. She married S.D. Crump in 1931 at Matador. He died in 1986. Services were at 10 a.m. Saturday in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Muleshoe with the Rev. Joe Augustine, pastor, officiating. Burial was in Muleshoe Memorial Cemetery by Ellis Funeral Home of Muleshoe. Mr. Ortega was born in Nazas Durango, Mexico, and was a longtime resident of Lariat. He was an insurance agent for American National Life Insurance Co. Mr. Ortega was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Clovis, N.M., and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He married Sally Orozco in 1966 at Muleshoe. Burial will be in Citizens Cemetery by Robertson Funeral Directors Inc., of Clarendon. Mrs. Roberts was born in Atoka, Okla., and had been a resident of Donley County most of her life. She had worked with her husband, a Gulf Oil consignee, in the family business for 30 years until his retirement in 1978. Later, Mrs. Roberts was a clerk in the clothing business, worked for Clarendon College and for the Donley County Senior Citizens Association. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star Chapter 413 in Hedley and the First United Methodist Church in Clarendon. She married James Thomas "Jake" Roberts in 1941 at Clarendon. He died in 1997. Survivors include a son, Jim Roberts of Hedley; three sisters, Eva Marie Strickland Phipps of Davis, Okla., Willie Mae Warren of Ryan, Okla., and Barbara Sue Davis of Ardmore, Okla.; and three grandchildren. Mrs. Urias was born in Fort Stockton and had lived in the Dumas / Stratford area since 1974. She was a homemaker and a Christian. She married Higinio Urias Sr. in 1951 at Fort Stockton. Luera, 77, of Olton, died Thursday, Jan. 20, 2000. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today in St. Peter's Catholic Church in Olton. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in St. Peter's Catholic Church in Olton with the Rev. Martin Pine of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church of Lamesa officiating. Burial will be in Olton Cemetery by Foskey-Lilley-McGill Funeral Home of Olton. Mr. Luera was born and raised in Melvin where he attended schools. During World War II, he served as a paratrooper with the Army 82nd Air Borne Division. A prisoner of war in Germany, he received the victory medal, occupation medal and POW medal. After the war, he returned to Melvin. In 1946, Mr. Luera moved to Olton where he was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and St. Peter's Catholic Church. He married Mary Gamboa in 1949 at Clovis, N.M. Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Janie Luera, Stella Luera and Jessie Luera, all of Olton, and Elva Kason of Colorado Springs, Colo.; three sons, Joe Luis Luera, Ruben Luera and Roy Luera, all of San Antonio; a brother, Apolonio of Olton; six sisters, Maria Cordero and Sally Pedroza, both of Olton, Maria Valles and Rosa Jaques, both of San Angelo, and Delia Balderamos and Josephine Gonzales, both of Fort Worth; 21 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Burial will be in Friona Cemetery by Ellis-Blackwell Funeral Home. Mr. Martin formerly lived in Muleshoe before moving to Friona in 1962. He was a truck driver for Gary Cook Oil Co. Most recently, he owned and operated his own truck. Mr. Martin was a former member of the Friona Jaycees. He also was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He married Donita Jordon in 1960 at Muleshoe. He was preceded in death by a son, Lewie Don Martin, in 1983. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery by Lamb Funeral Home of McLean. Mr. Brown was born in Chillicothe and lived in the McLean area for more than 60 years. He retired as production superintendent from Royal Oil and Gas Co. He served as a volunteer fireman, ambulance driver and city councilman. He was a member of First Baptist Church. He married Olene Robinson in 1935 at Chillicothe. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Hatfield. Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Mary Donald of Amarillo, Laura Morris of McLean, Martha Back of Gretna, La., and Brenda Parker of Canyon; a granddaughter, Jeanette Gammon; two brothers, J.B. Mr. Bryant grew up and attended schools in Tell. Before moving to Tulia in 1966, he farmed and ranched and worked as a cowboy at feed lots in the Panhandle. He retired from Wrangler Feed Yard in Tulia in 1982. He married Geneva Tate in 1934 at Childress. She died in 1995. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Virginia Mumau; and two grandsons, Mark Lathram and Larry Wade. Survivors include two daughters, Darla Hutson of Tulia and Clair Adams of Crosbyton; a son, Alvis Bryant of Tulia; two brothers, J.W. Mrs. Killingsworth was born in Hedley, graduated from Crowell High School and attended Texas Tech University. She married Clifford A. Killingsworth in 1938 at Crowell. They owned Killingsworth Jewelry for 43 years in Paducah. Her husband died in 1989. She was a member of the Friends of the Library and served on the library board. She was also on the Economic Development Board, a member of the 1923 and 1935 Study Clubs, and received the highest award given by the state for a 4-H volunteer. Mrs. Killingsworth was a member of First United Methodist Church in Paducah and on the Memorial Committee. She taught Sunday school. Survivors include a son, Ed Killingsworth of Rochester Hills, Mich.; and three grandchildren. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mrs. Hutchinson was born in Marysville, Mo., and had lived in the area since 1905. She was a homemaker and a member of United Methodist Church of Booker. Mrs. Hutchinson graduated from high school in Frankfort and received a teaching certificate from Marysville, Kan. From 1918 until 1922, she taught school in Bigelow, Booker and Ashland, Kan. She married Newton Hutchinson in 1923 at Ashland. He died in 1969. Her son, Ralph Hutchinson, died in 1976. Survivors include a son, Roy Hutchinson of Spring; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two great-greatgrandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Feed the Children. Jim Lacy, pastor, and the Rev. Drew Travis, pastor of First Presbyterian Church at Plainview, officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery by Wallace Funeral Home. Mr. Miller was born in Swisher County and was a lifetime farmer and rancher. In 1936, he graduated from Tulia High School and in 1940, from Iowa State University with a degree in agriculture. He served with the Air Corps in Whitehorse, Yukon Territory, Canada, during World War II and was a lifetime member of the First Presbyterian Church of Tulia, where he was a deacon. He served on the board of Swisher County Electric Co-op, Tulia Wheat Growers and Tulia Independent School District. He married Lula M. Conner in 1948 at Denton. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Dale Ann Morgan of Waukesha, Wis., and Janet Wright of Tulia; a son, Mark W. Miller of Wimberley; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and caretaker and friend, Leslle Culifer. Mrs. Thomas was born in Burlington Junction, Mo. In 1961, She moved from Iowa to Amarillo where she was employed by Gattis Shoes, Kline's and Coca-Cola. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church. In 1939, she married Wilbur Branan who preceded her in death. Her second marriage was to Paul Thomas in 1963 at Amarillo. He died in 1998. She also was preceded in death by two sons, Gary Branan in 1959 and Bucky Thomas in 1964. Survivors include a daughter, Linda Thomas of Amarillo; three sons, Jim Branan of Villisca, Iowa, Dennis B. Thomas of Canyon and James R. Thomas of Cocoa, Fla.; a brother, Ivor Van Ausdall of Maryville, Mo.; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Memorial Park Funeral Home, Chapel of Memories, 6969 E. Interstate 40, with Col. David Park, chaplain with the Air Force, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Park was born in Jacksonville. In 1929, he received his bachelor's degree in music from Trinity University. He received his master's degree in history and his law degree from Cumberland University. Prior to World War II, Mr. Park taught music in Perryton. During World War II, he worked for Brown Shipyard in Houston. After the war, he became an auditor for the Internal Revenue Service. Mr. Parks lived in El Paso for 27 years until moving to Amarillo in 1999. He was a member of Coulter Road Baptist Church. He married Clara Cammack in 1935 at Perryton. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Wilbur G. Park Jr. of Gruver and Col. David M. Park of the Air Force in Colorado Springs, Colo.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40. Mrs. Farr was born in Grapeland and lived in Amarillo for 46 years until moving to Hereford 19 years ago. She returned to Amarillo last year. She was an accountant for M.H. Farr, C.P.A., and a member of Polk Street United Methodist Church. She married M.H. Farr in 1938 at Borger. He graduated from Fort Morgan High School, was a 1951 graduate of Colorado State College at Greeley, and received an advanced degree from West Texas State University at Canyon. Mr. Schantz worked for the Amarillo Independent School District as a teacher, coach and vocational readjustment coordinator. He retired in 1986. He received a special recognition award from the State of Texas for starting the first program in the state for Vocational Readjustment and received the Seven Who Care award in 1986. Mr. Schantz served on the United Way Speakers Bureau, the board of CASA, Maverick Boys and Girls Club and the American Cancer Society. He was co-director of the Greater Southwest Music Festival, Presbyterian Children's Home and Fellowship of Christian Athletes at Amarillo High School. He was a football and basketball official for the Southeast Conference. He was a member of the American Business Club, United Way, Knife and Fork Club, Retired Teachers Association, Amarillo Education Association, of which he was a past president, Rotary Club West and Westminster Presbyterian Church. Mr. Maberry was born in Amarillo. He graduated from Amarillo High School, then attended West Texas State Teachers College and the University of Iowa, majoring in mechanical engineering. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II and was a certified airplane mechanic. He farmed and ranched in Hughes and Hyde counties and later built and remodeled homes. He was a member of the American Legion and was a 4-H leader and a school board member. He also volunteered at the hospital and for the Latchkey program in Pierre. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church.
