Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Rusty Hancock, pastor of Lincoln Street Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Haas Funeral Home. Mr. Brown was born in Whitt and lived in the Fort Worth area before moving to Dalhart in 1943. He was a Baptist and a farmer and rancher in the Dalhart area. Survivors include a daughter, Kay Lynn Fowler of Amarillo; a brother, Melvin Brown of Dalhart; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. The family will be at 710 Keeler. Amarillo Daily News April 24, 2000 Gerrie Marie Putts DALHART - Gerrie Marie Putts, 72, died Sunday, April 23, 2000. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Stephen Lowrie, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Hass Funeral Home. Mrs. Putts was born in Henryetta, Okla., and grew up in Amarillo. In 1944, she worked for the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. Before moving to Dalhart in 1965, she lived in Memphis for eight years. She married Sammie "Sam" Arthur Putts in 1947 at Amarillo. She worked as a bookkeeper for Sam Putts Texaco. Her husband died in 1996. Survivors include a son, Sam Putts II of Dalhart; a daughter, Cindy Mayfield of Dalhart; stepmother, Clemy Kincaid of Happy; two sisters, Patricia Kuenstler of Marianna, Fla., and Albie Davis of Amarillo; a brother, Hubert Kincaid of Bristol, Fla.; a stepsister, Geraldine Looney of Happy; two grandchildren; and two greatgrandchildren. The family will be at 2038 Shawnee Trail and suggests memorials be to Cal Farley Boy's Ranch and Affiliates; or Don and Sybil Harrington Cancer Center Memorial Hospice. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors Colonial Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Pollard, pastor of Calvary Assembly of God Church, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Mrs. Organ was born in Miami and was a longtime resident of Pampa. She was a homemaker. She married John Organ in 1971 at Barber County, Kan. Her son, Wayland McPherson, died in 1997. Her grandson, Cameron McPherson, died in 1994. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Marcel Splane of Tulsa, Okla.; a son, Garland McPherson of Houston; three stepsons, Larry Organ of Pampa, John C. Organ and Kenny Organ, both of Midland; a stepdaughter, Brenda Simpson of Midland; two sisters, June Basham of Phoenix and Carolyn Goodner of Guthrie, Okla.; a brother, Joe Phillips of Pampa; and 17 grandchildren. Mrs. Rogers was born in Canute, Okla. She was a member of the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church and Amarillo Senior Citizens. She married Thomas Alva Rogers in 1947 at Silverton. He died in 1979. Survivors include a daughter, Lola England of Amarillo; four sisters, Myrtle Mayes and Lois Breece, both of Amarillo, and Alice Evertt and Ola Faye Hisee, both of Lubbock; a brother, Louis Randell of Turkey; four grandchildren; and 12 greatgrandchildren. She was a housewife. She married Israel Reyes in 1960. He died in 1998. Survivors include two sons, Israel Reyes Jr. and Ismael Reyes, both of Shamrock; a daughter, Irene Mayes of Shamrock; a brother, Agustin Espericueta Jr. of Mission; a sister, Nale Galleagos of Mission; and a granddaughter. Amarillo Daily News April 24, 2000 Billy J. Stephens PAMPA - Billy J. Stephens, 73, died Sunday, April 23, 2000, in Amarillo. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mr. Stephens was born in Marlow, Okla. After serving with the Navy from 1945 until 1946, he worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone and in 1951, moved to Pampa. He worked out of the Borger barn and in 1989, retired as a cable repairman. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Pampa and Pampa Masonic Lodge No. 966 AF&AM, where he served as Worshipful Master. He was a 32nd degree Mason and past president of the Telephone Pioneers. He married Tillie Stockton in 1952 at Pampa. She died in 1995. He married Mary Cook in 1997 at Albuquerque, N.M. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Jackie Stephens of Pampa and Sharon Bradford of Canadian; three sons, Andy Stephens of Fritch, Cliff Stephens of Dallas, and Mike Cook of Venice, Italy; a brother, Clifford Terry Stephens of Snyder, Okla.; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Mrs. Jordan was born in Tolbert and moved to Dimmitt from Roundup in 1978. She received a degree in art from South Plains College and was a member of the South Plains Artist Association. She married Lewis W. Jordan in 1934 at Frederick, Okla. He died in 1992. Survivors include four daughters, Betty Duncan of Bountiful, Utah, and Reba Springer, Cindy Coffeld, and Tammy Thomas, all of Lubbock; four sons, Lewis Jordan of Dimmitt, Joseph Jordan of Lubbock, Leonard Jordan of Hereford, and Jack Jordan of Neosho, Mo.; 20 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Hughes St. Mr. Harvey was born in San Augustine and moved from Friona to Amarillo in 1977. He was a farmer and a member of the Carter Chapel Primitive Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Consequela Harvey of Amarillo; three sons, Jimmy Harvey of Kileen, and David Harvey and Earl Harvey, both of Amarillo; three daughters, Sandra Booker, Helen Austin, and Jenny Harvey, all of Amarillo; and two sisters, Catherine Pettis and Barbara Jewel Matlock, both of Los Angeles. Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in BlackburnShaw Funeral Directors, Memorial Chapel, 315 E. Fifth Ave., with Pastor Bob Parker officiating. Burial will be in Friona Cemetery at Friona. Mr. Hollman was born in Nara Visa, N.M., and moved to Amarillo in 1998 from Torrington, Wyo. He was a dairy farmer, a carpenter, and the owner and operator of a motel in Dumas. He married Irene Henderson in 1940. She died in 1964. Survivors include his wife, Jerri; a son, Robert Hollman; a daughter, Kaaren Hughes; a brother, Ralph Hollman; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Amarillo Daily News April 24, 2000 Oklahoma Damie Lee Smith Wooten TEXHOMA, Okla. - Damie Lee Smith Wooten, 98, died Saturday, April 22, 2000, in Dumas. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Texhoma Methodist Church with the Rev. Dane Timmons officiating. Burial will be in Texhoma Cemetery by Dawson-Welch Funeral Home. Mrs. Wooten was born in Elk City. Before living in Texhoma from 1944 until 1949, she lived in Duke for one year and in Weatherford for nine years. From 1935 until 1944, she lived in Goodwell, where she worked for Oklahoma Panhandle State University. In 1949, she returned to Goodwell, where she and her husband managed the cafeteria and student union at Oklahoma Panhandle State University. She returned to Texhoma in 1970. She was a longtime member of Texhoma United Methodist Church. Her husband, Carl W. Wooten, died in 1975. Survivors include a son, LeCarl "Bill" Wooten of Angel Fire, N.M.; two daughters, Scottie Hopson of Texhoma and Delores Lassiter of Kerrville, Texas; a sister, Birdie Hamrick of Oklahoma City; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to United Methodist Church of Texhoma. Amarillo Daily News April 24, 2000 Elsewhere Troy Dee Etheredge MIDLAND - Troy Dee Etheredge, 72, died Friday, April 21, 2000. Services will be at 10 a.m. today in Crestview Baptist Church with Ty Morris Jr., officiating. Graveside services will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Arrangements are by Pipkin Funeral Home. Mr. Etheredge was born in Hermleigh and in 1937 moved to Midland, where he graduated from Midland High School. During World War II, he served with the Navy. He worked for White's Stores Inc., managing stores in Midland and Denver. After retiring from White's, he owned and operated Salem Tire Center and later worked at Bill William's Tire Center. He then serviced and restored gum ball machines. He was a member of Golf Course Road Church of Christ. His daughter, Phyllis Sue Etheredge, died in 1977. He married Janie Frances Manning in 1949. Survivors include his wife; a son, Dr. T. Ken Etheredge of Midland; two daughters, Kathryn Mashburn of Abilene and Frances Malone of Waco; two brothers, Wiley Etheredge of Llano and Bob Etheridge of Lubbock; a sister, Elsie Beck of San Antonio; a stepbrother, Walter Trent of California; two stepsisters, Nell Huggins of Houston and Belva Wright of Kilgore; and six grandchildren.
