Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Llano Cemetery with Pastor Phil Mercado of Trinity Fellowship Christian Church officiating. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mr. Morris was born in Amarillo. After graduating from Amarillo High School in 1944, he attended Oklahoma University. In 1968, he moved to Borger, where he was in business before returning to Amarillo in 1996. He was a Methodist and served with the Navy during World War II. He married Marlene Casey in 1953 at Amarillo. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Susan Davis and Abby Hogan, both of Amarillo; two sons, Mike Morris of Thailand and Sam Morris of Austin; a sister, Melba Hamilton of Kerrville; and six grandchildren. The family will be at 7404 Park Ridge Drive, and suggests memorials be to the Alzheimer's Association of Amarillo, 2200 W. Seventh Ave., Amarillo, TX 79106. Amarillo Daily News July 24, 2000 Don L McCune Don L McCune, 71, of Amarillo, died Saturday, July 22, 2000. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Rose Hill Cemetery at Tulia with the Rev. Greg Kinch, pastor of Southlawn Baptist Church in Amarillo, officiating. Arrangements are by Brooks Funeral Directors of Canyon. Mr. McCune was a longtime resident of Tulia before moving to Amarillo. He was a member of Southlawn Baptist Church in Amarillo. He married Dorotha Louise George McKinney in 1981 at Amarillo. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Sandra Faye Jenkins of Amarillo; three sons, Don Stephen McCune and Greg Lynn McKinney, both of Amarillo, and Mark Wade McKinney of Guymon, Okla.; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to the American Diabetes Association. Amarillo Daily News July 24, 2000 Elbert W. Robinson Elbert W. Robinson, 93, of Amarillo, died Sunday, July 23, 2000. Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday in Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors, Memorial Chapel, 315 E. Fifth Ave., with Monsignor Francis A. Smyer of St. Mary's Catholic Church officiating. Private burial has been arranged by the funeral home. Mr. Robinson was born in Jacksonport, Ark. In 1922, he moved to San Antonio, where he graduated from high school in 1924. He attended the University of Texas on a scholarship and graduated with a degree in electrical engineering in 1929. He worked for Southwestern Public Service Co. until his retirement in 1971 as Vice President of Power Generating Station Design and Construction. After retiring, he formed a private engineering business, Robinson Associates, which he operated until 1987. In 1962, he was named Outstanding Engineer by the Panhandle Chapter of Texas Society of Professional Engineers. A past member of the Texas Air Control Board and the Canadian River Water Board, he obtained several U.S. Patents involving power generation and medical fields. He was a lifetime member of the National Society of Professional Engineers and the TSPE.. He married Vivian Goodman in 1937. She died in 1990. He was also preceded in death by two sons, David Louis Robinson and Stinson Joseph Robinson. Survivors include a niece, Ann Marie Howell of San Antonio; and two greatnieces, Rae Lyn Ramsey of San Antonio and Elezabeth Reynolds of Round Rock. Interstate 40. Mr. Crawford was born in Winamac, Ind., and moved to Amarillo in 1970. He was a farmer and a member of Olsen Park Seventh Day Adventist Church. He married Mary Jane Sheetz in 1938 at Logansport, Ind. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Juanita Katherine Burgess and Dorothy Ann Crawford, both of Amarillo; a son, John W. Crawford of Fritch; a brother, Roy W. Crawford of Amarillo; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Interstate 40, with Marvin James, minister, officiating. Entombment will be in Memorial Park Mausoleum. Mrs. Eddins was born in Delwin and was a longtime resident of Amarillo. A bookkeeper, she was a member of First Christian Church, AARP and Amarillo Senior Citizens. She married Dave Eddins in 1949 at Amarillo. He died in 1959. Survivors include three daughters, Janie Eddins, Janice McLain and Kay Sherwood, all of Amarillo; a sister, Gertrude Whitten of Adrian; six grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. A 1947 graduate of high school in Lakeview, she received a bachelor's degree in education from West Texas State University in 1967. She moved to Amarillo in 1950 from Memphis and taught in the Amarillo Independent School District until her retirement in 1987. She was president of Dogie Enterprises. She was a member of Church of Christ. She married Floyd N. Houdashell in 1949 at Lakeview. He died in 1995. Survivors include two daughters, Karen Marie Houdashell-Riegel of San Antonio and Melinda Beth Felton of Amarillo; a son, Floyd N. Houdashell Jr. of Mesa, Ariz.; two sisters, Brenda Graham of Claude and Betty Ann Hudgins of Burns Flat, Okla.; a brother, Lester Driver of Levelland; and six grandchildren. Ritch CLOVIS, N.M. - Dr. Hugh L. Ritch, 68, died Saturday, July 22, 2000. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in First United Methodist Church with Dr. Mark Scott officiating and the Rev. Dr. Ritch was born in Amarillo, Texas, and graduated from Clovis schools in 1949. He served on a hospital ship with the Navy and graduated from West Texas State College in 1957. In 1961 he received a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Texas Dental School and practiced until his retirement in 1991. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and the Saints and Sinners Sunday school class. He married Patricia D. Copeland in 1957. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, DeAnn Ritch of Clovis; a brother, Alden Ritch of Roswell; a sister, Charlotte Clark of Hereford, Texas; and three grandchildren. Mr. Ritter was born in Groom, Texas, and was a longtime resident of Beaver. He was a retired Beaver County employee. He married Betty Williams in 1948. Mr. Splawn was born in Frederick, Okla. He moved to Muleshoe in 1941 and to Amarillo in 1999. He owned Muleshoe Wrecking Co., and retired as a farmer. He married Mary Bernice Whittenburg in 1932 at Clovis, N.M. She died in 1991. Mrs. Lambert was born in Bonham and moved to Muleshoe from Sudan in 1941. A homemaker, she helped her husband at Lambert Plumbing Co., and was a member of the First Baptist Church, where she taught the junior girls. She was a former member of the Muleshoe Rebekah Lodge. She married A.P. "Shorty" Lambert in 1921 at Corinth. He died in 1980. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Alvie Pauline Rhoades, in 1999; a grandson, James Leland Lambert, in 1976; and a great-grandson, Leslie Wayne McNutt, in 1999. Survivors include two sons, James Leslie Lambert of Muleshoe and Zane Kenneth Lambert of Olympia, Wash.; a daughter, Helen L. In 1971, he moved to Abilene, where he worked as a real estate property manager. A 32nd degree mason in the Hereford Masonic Lodge, he was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Heavenly Rest in Abilene, the Holiday Ramblers Trailer Club, and was a Life Master Tournament Bridge player. He married Jane Houston in 1954 at Hereford. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Alisa Brown of Killingworth, Conn.; a son, Terry Kirby of Bastrop; a stepmother, Vivia Kirby of Hereford; and three grandsons. He was a deacon at Sunray Baptist Church. He was on the board of trustees at Wayland Baptist College. He served as Chairman of the Board at Federal Land Bank. A farmer, he was a charter member of Sunray Co-op. His son, R.A. Browder, died in 1967. His daughter, Ione Browder Elly, died in 1993. He married Frances W. Knox in 1936 at Happy. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Catha B. Hamilton of Dumas; and a sister, Thelma Eubanks of Sunray.
